Here in Massachusetts a lot of Targets and Walmarts still limit you on cards and they are all locked up behind the counter. It's because of all the douche bag scalpers that are ruining the hobby. Plus the vendors make back door deals before they hit the floor.

I went to target one day looking for panini prizm football and the card guy had just wheeled up his cart full of boxes to start filling the shelves. I asked if he had any prizm and he said he already sold em all. So yeah the people who stock the shelves definitely make deals and sell the boxes before even going inside the store.

smart. retail is a LOT of crap. You get bulk aka commons, but if you want color/parallels....gotta spend the money on hobby. That's IF you like ripping, otherwise MUCH smarter buying singles for investment purposes, PC, etc

Personally, I think retail boxes shouldn't be allowed for resale unless they are in breaks or the boxes are being sold at their original price.

You do realize when the boxes are in breaks they are marked up as high or higher then resale prices, it’s part of the problem

Problem is Panini often sales at a higher price than retail stores. Do we go by their price? What needs to be done is Panini stop eking these out slowly. Other years you can get them the first couple weeks but this year with hobby getting pushed back it seems the Panini trickles go immediately to scalpers. I hate "investors"(um scalpers) in flipping that are not collectors.. It robs joy from people that are into the hobby.

It’s been rough in Wisconsin, i get lucky every once in a while tho. Remember one day in March they had a bunch of prizm blasters and megas on shelves so I was shocked. The hobby prob isn’t as big in Wisconsin than in other states, but most times they have nothing or a couple blasters

I'm here in Wisconsin also and only thing I can ever find on shelves is contenders and score. Stacked to ceiling while everything else is cleaned out instantly if even gets to shelf.

I went to Target yesterday (7/13) looking to see if they had any Garbage Pail Kids, but they didn't. Just tons of Pokemon and random sports stuff. I saw this dude picking up some of these Optic Mega Boxes and asked him about them. He told me they were the hottest thing going and he was getting 4 of them - "his kids were into cards". LOL yeah sure dude. I had no intention of getting anything, but saw he left 3 Mega Boxes on the shelf. I picked up 2 of them for 59.99 each. I opened both last night and although I don't think i got any big hits, it was great fun. Didn't realize these were so elusive - I'll keep an eye out in my travels from now on.

@@Sportscardhustlers Went back to that same Target today. The whole card section looked like a tornado had passed through. There was nothing. I saw some soccer cards and pokemon - but no Baseball, Football, Hockey, or Basketball. Crazy - guess I just lucked out on Friday.

Brevard is full of reselling vultures. Online has been my only source of any luck. Few and far between, but better than nothing.

Save your money, buy the singles you want. Ripping wax is worse than buying lotto tickets. And there’s no way these resellers are making much money unless they are selling hundreds of boxes or stealing them. They retail for $60 plus tax and sell for $85-90 on eBay. Subtract the 13.5% seller fee and that leaves about $14 in profit.

Thats why you buy for $60 and sell on market place or yard sale fle Market for $90. Your making %50 profit. And no fees.

I think it is ridiculous that someone would buy it for that much over. If we don’t buy it, they’ll stop doing it. I have only been lucky to get some value packs. Subbed you up…hope to see you on my channel next

I tried getting into that group yesterday and I was told that they already had enough people and that I’m being added to a waitlist, which is insane considering they only are allowing 29,000. I’m so sick of trying to find any football cards in stores and someone needs to fix this issue…

Ive hd very little problem finding packs, blasters and megas in walmart and target. This stuff is way overproduced. Now they got those tins with just optic in them

I'm in Toronto Canada, and I also have never seen any good products on the shelf as i believe they are backdoor'd by the employee's at the walmarts in my area. its a shame as I'm always trying to be a part of the hobby but cant even rip the products I want. I've now chosen to just go to my LCS as they have had an amazing promotion on UpperDeck hockey hobby boxes recently, regular price is 119.99 CAD and they have them on sale for 69.99 CAD ! so atleast im paying the price of a mega for a Hobby ! just a shame that they are able to sell them backdoor like that and leave out the normal everyday collectors. i would really love to rip Optic (basketball or football) but its just so hard to come across.

This is exactly how it was in 2020-2022 all over the country as I checked store after store...lines....no product at all, fights in stores. Gun incident in Wisconsin forced all Targets at that time to go online. So, other than overprinted cards, the "good" stuff is still scooped up. I have seen Optic Football on 3 different occasions in different states...and passed on it. Not worth it.

In Florida where I live they have a warehouse on the military base and I go get all my Sports cards of all kinds and there’s no taxes and I get an additional 25% of each purchase

I live in Houston, and my local Walmart had 2 blasters one day . 4 megas 2 weeks later. I left one of each behind. 🤔. Maybe I should’ve got them all. I haven’t seen anything since. I got fat packs from target website. Dicks sporting goods cancelled all three of my orders. And I will buy singles rather than buy scalped 📦.

Good luck on your quest! I gave up on looking for retail Panini in the wild. I'm certain my local Walmart vendors are bad actors in regards to what is put out for sale to the public. If you are trying to PC someone, singles purchase are the best way to go at this point. If I can't get a Panini product via an online drop, I save my money. If I'm just looking to rip something I'd rather put money in a higher quality Fanatics product, or pick up an underrated product below MSRP. Panini cards tend to be the result of poor QC, and good luck trying to get a claim processed with them before the next solar eclipse.

I live in Florida too. I spoke to my local card shop, and they told me they have a person who's only job is to go and buy up boxes. I did further research and discovered most card shops in my area are located within a mile of Walmarts and Targets. The card shops buy cheap and mark up the prices for online and instore purchases.

I ripped my Megas I found, but it has been rough with all of the resellers in my area. I literally had to barge my way through a guy and his team to snag the boxes I bought. The video I posted shows the resellers taking everything off the shelf. Honestly, the Mega boxes aren’t worth it. I got lucky in mine to pull some LaPorta’s for my PC, but most of the other KZreadrs I have watched break them have been really really rough. I think you have to give them a rip if you find them, but don’t go crazy on this product, and definitely don’t pay anymore than the shelf price. Good luck next week!

I make rounds daily, I caught Excell restocking twice last week - each time she only stocked 6 megas and 12 fat packs, most of the time the shelves are empty across the board though.

Usually cards that you can’t find will sit for few days at least on my store shelf. It’s pretty unreal to be honest when I watch videos like yours when people can’t find anything. I’m super lucky. Even during Covid I was able to find cards at my store well after restock.

@@beliedat2457 We graded a Shohei Ohtani from Big League Baseball 2023 - black parallel numbered out of /25. Got it up on EBay now auction-style. Haven’t seen many like them. It took about 2-3 months to grade it and return back. Very long process. Have to do it in bulk, not just one at a time.
