    Haitian Voodoo is a very hot topic but also a lot of people's religion. It is demonizaed now it is time to explore why. Regardless of what your beliefs are it is important to understand your roots and question why you believe what you believe and understand why others believe what they believe it's all aboit balance, understanding and drawing your OWN opinions not the ones fored upon you. ✨Thee Mademoiselle E-Mail List (don’t worry you won’t be spammed 🙃) mailchi.mp/ac76ce411d2f/theemafiaemails 🇭🇹 Get Your Merch! teespring.com/stores/bonbagaynet 💙➡ Subscribe to my MAIN channel where I do commentary, discuss social issues and trending topics: www.KZread.com/c/theemademoiselle 💙 Video suggestions ⬇ forms.gle/p5iiRrWMT6LmCmGf9 ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• 💙 STAY CONNECTED 🌐 📷 Don’t forget to follow me on Instagram: @TheeMlle www.Instagram.com/TheeMlle @TheeMlle www.Twitter.com/TheeMlle @TheeMlle www.Facebook.com/TheeMlle 💙➡ Wanna send me something? I might be older than you in age but on a mental level of wisdom you are far above me. I had a lot of questions because my family has lost a lot of older members. We are now here most of us Orphans or with 1 Parent either dead or deported. So it's a lot of unanswered questions that we have and I thank you for shedding some light into our darkness. I have common Christian beliefs but always had unanswered questions there with the Church around me. But thanks to your knowledge I can say I am finally getting the big picture. Every religion has a ritual they follow and has their reasoning to them. But I am of *Haitian* decent so I feel comfortable in our cultures beliefs. Good and bad is in us all but your heart will determine which side you practice your lifestyle in. Much respect to you Mademoiselle and blessings as well. 💜💜💜🇭🇹💤

    @@sankofa1503 I know that, that's not what I was saying. I started questioning everything at a young age. I learned that Christianity has a lot of Pagan roots. I still believe in what Jesus represents, but humans corrupted religion, imo. So, I'm Christian in the sense that I follow Christ, but I don't necessarily like, or agree with what Christianity has become.

    Being a witch is not the same as practicing voodoo wrong terminology. They probably do or saying that so people don’t alienate them. They do not consider themselves witches, however, it’s a religion/practice. Not everyone has power or can cast spells especially without repercussions like I mentioned.

    Jesus story was actually based on the Egyptian god Horus. Horus was also written to be born on December 25th, had twelve deciples, was baptised by this figure known as Anup and was betrayed by Typhon and killed. He too also rose on the third day. Bare in mind this was written before the story of Jesus even existed.

    I’m Haitian. Born and raised in Haiti. Vodou is practiced all over the Caribbean and it has different names. It’s not the main religion in Haiti. The Haitian revolution never had anything to do with vodou like so many people think. Boukman started the revolution and he was a muslim😂 Look up “Boukman’s prayer” on August 14th 1791 during the revolution and yes, we still have a Muslim community in Haiti. Voodoo was also forbidden in the constitution of 1806, which actually included some of the 10 commandments. There are so many things people don’t know about Haiti and most of the time it’s the people who don’t know anything who talk the most about Haiti, unfortunately. If Yahweh was punishing any country for practicing voodoo, the whole world would’ve been destroyed because many people practice a form of vodou without knowing. People do tarot card readings, fortune-telling, crystal ball readings and so on. Yes, some holidays really have nothing to do with Christianity and people don’t know how wrong they actually are - Christmas, Halloween, day of the death, which is actually “guédé” in Haiti, a vodou holiday that is celebrated on November 1st and 2nd😂 It’s all about education! I wish people would look things up before opening their mouth. Did you know that vodou came from “veau d’or” which is French for golden cow? The golden cow the Israelites were praying to and were punished for. If you Google where vodou came from, Haiti will pop up but how did it end up in Haiti? They will say Africa but do they know how it was started in Africa? Absolutely not! They have no idea🤣

    I mentioned some of this in my video but The main topic is why people demonize The Voodoo religion as a whole. Not necessarily the revolution. I agree that the revolution is not spoken about in ways that it should be because realistically if it was that powerful I don’t know why we can’t do it to make the country better. I also talked about the Muslims and that community in a previous video. I also have all of my sources linked in description. Everything else you said has nothing to do with the video topic. The message of the video is stop demonizing people for their beliefs in Haitian voodoo.

    @@ChroniclesofaZoe I understand. I said what I said because many people don’t know that vodou had nothing to do with the revolution. The main thing they always bring up when talking about the revolution is vodou. Even Haitians do it. The video was about vodou and Haiti so I brought it up. When it comes to demonizing vodou, it’s the people who use it badly who are responsible for it, no one else! We shouldn’t tell people what to believe in because salvation is a personal matter but vodou shouldn’t be glorified either! If we keep doing something that has brought us nothing, we have to wake up one day and realize that it’s not worth it. What has vodou done for Haiti? Our forefathers forbid it for a reason. Defeating all those powerful armies and becoming the first independent black nation after Boukman’s prayer was not a coincidence.

  • @ChroniclesofaZoe

    @ChroniclesofaZoe

    What you just did was demonize voodoo. No one knows what took place if Bois Caiman happened or not or if the forefathers “forbade” it which again- no one knows how true that is I’ve never personally heard of it and if that was the case part of the brainwashing that I genuinely talked about in this video. Just because Boukman was Muslim means nothing…lol. This has nothing to do with what the religion has done for us as a whole people have the right to do what they choose whether it is voodoo or not. Be realistic what has Christianity done for Haiti or anyone? In your words you said that voodoo is not the majority of the religion of the people so in that case why is he not doing better…..Religion is what you make it personally to you. Your statement and others like it is extremely problematic, the reason I made my video and the reason people are afraid to live their truth regarding their spiritual beliefs even if it’s not voodoo. Your statement suggests voodoo is negative and shames people for practicing. You are entitled to your own opinions but don’t try to hide it in fluff. Say it with your chest.

    @@ChroniclesofaZoe I said vodou should not be glorified and I always say it with my chest! The comment section is there for people to share their opinions. You made your point in your video so I don't know why you're arguing. Me alone cannot force everyone to become Christians and I, personally am not a religious person so I'm not trying to tell anyone to serve Yahweh. People do whatever they want but what is wrong is wrong whether you like it or not. Even people who do vodou acknowledge God and the Bible so they know that there's a more powerful being than the ones they serve. You can never serve two gods. I bet if anyone asked you to curse God in heaven and praise the lwas only you would hesitate. Many people say they don't believe in God yet, start praying to him once they're in danger, sick or dying. I remember very vividly how everyone was screaming for God to help them during and after the earthquake in 2010. It's an instinct because we all know which God is more powerful so let's not be hypocrites here! It's either one or the other. The lwas never give anything for free. The only people who use vodou positively are ginen. If we can't be sure about what happened in Bois Caiman how can you be sure that there was a vodou ceremony? You can't tell people to not demonize vodou when the ones who practice it keep using it for evil. Talk to them instead! Look up Duvalier's history with vodou then you will understand vodou's role in Haiti's situation today. If you're not sure that they "forbade" it, go and read the old constitutions ( 1801, 1805) Toussaint Louverture, the decree of January 4th 1800 and don't forget to also listen to Boukman's prayer! Learn about him and you'll understand how important he is in Haitian history.

    One Hispanic person from the Dominican Republic (which from 1492 to 1821 was part of the Spanish Empire and it known as Captaincy General of Santo Domingo) who traveled west across the border of Hispaniola into Haiti (which from 1625 to 1804 was a Caribbean colony of France and was known as Saint Domingue) was José Campos Tavares. J.C. Tavares was a former slave and a Mulatto of Spanish European and Afro Latino Dominican descent. José had initially fought against Saint Domingue but he soon came to support the Haitian Revolution because of the freedom of the slaves. Once José had arrived in Saint Domingue, he was then employed in the Haitian army and was a loyal soldier to Jean-Jacques Dessalines. When J.J. Dessalines was brutally murdered, José then was under the command of King Henri Christophe and would become known as "Baron de Thabares ". José Campos Tavares was still alive when Hispaniola became unified under the rule of Jean-Pierre Boyer. Another fact to mention is that the Royal almanacs of Henri Christophe's kingdom listed members of the Haitian military and court with the "Thabares" surname. This means that José's relatives had migrated to Haiti and "Thabares" is I believe Tavares in Haitian Creole or perhaps French. Unfortunately, the life of José Campos Tavares is not entirely known because his birth and death date are not known to the public and we don't know if he married and had children. Maybe one day we will find out.

    Just so you guys know Voodoo is VERY real. When I was in middle school I met a girl ( I will name her Sara cause I don't want to give her full name) that said she did voodoo and she was was made fun of and everyone hassled her to prove it was real and when another girl mocked her and tried to beat her up, she did something and caused the bad girls house to burn down. The next day the bad girl came in crying saying that (Sara) was evil and that voodoo was real and that it was witchcraft, however when I talked to (Sara) she told me that Voodoo can be used for bad and good, so she was the one to confirm to me that it is real and that it is not about Voodoo being good or bad, but how you choose to use it. P.S she was a vey nice girl and we talked a bit when she was at school but when she burned down the girls house she suddenly disappeared from the school. I am very open minded of things like this and I believe that "magic" is real along with other things like telepathy and telekinesis. It was (Sara) that opened my mind about topics of "magic" or psychic abilities.

    Many people think hindus worship millions of God's but they dont. Hindus worship one God who is called by many names himdus believe God is present in everything and is everywhere this means hindus believe God has many qualities and can take many forms as God is genderless timeless and space less,to help you understand God is represented and expressed through the God's and Godesses who posess millons of qualities and are still part of the one (God Brahman) the gods and Godesses are one with brahman and different angles of the entity's and one supreme God and ultimate reality Brahman who work together as one being. So basically God is expressed through God's and Godesses who possess millions of qualities. Hindus believe in reincarnation that after death the soul moves to the next body and continues to recycle until it settles upon its true nature life goes through a cycle of samsara life death birth and rebirth and karma determines how you are reincarnated in your next life. Moksha is spritual enlightenment and it is when your soul and your eternal self will become one with God and be absorbed and go back into Brahman. I prefer cremation as it its true and it is with what i believe about the soul existing beyond physical death and the eternal soul and self goes beyond the material and the physical world. When you die your soul goes on a spiritual journey and the soul leaves the physical body and enters other realms. So cremation releases the bodies elements back to the earth the body is made up of five elements fire 🔥 earth 🌎 water 💧 air and spirit and it releases the soul and helps with reincarnation.
