Do you struggle with being assertive?
The immature masculine is always (passive) aggressive…
They are dictated by emotional reactivity (immaturity) rather then emotional accountability (maturity).
The key difference between the mature masculine's assertiveness and the immature masculine's (passive) aggressiveness is their understanding of that which maintains well-being.
The immature masculine doesn’t understand what is intrinsically valuable relative to someone else, this is why the immature masculine lacks accountability.
A key ingredient to understanding well-being is to be empathetic towards the needs of others.
Therefore, the mature masculine is always trying to embody the highest human good, this is called: Eudaemonia
This requires the mature masculine to live by three principles:
1. Moral-Responsibility: the willingness to take ownership of one's actions and decisions
2. Arête Virtue: the striving towards moral excellence
3. Stoicism: to focus only on what can be controlled
When Eudaemonia is achieved, we achieve the highest human good.
For Aristotle, Eudaemonia is the highest human good, the only human good that is desirable for its own sake (as an end in itself) rather than for the sake of something else (as a means toward some other end).
Eudaemonia means striving toward excellence based on one's unique talents and potential-Aristotle considered it to be the noblest goal in life.
In his time, the Greeks believed that each child was blessed at birth with a personal "daimon" embodying the highest possible expression of his or her nature. One way they envisioned the daimon was as a golden figurine that would be revealed by cracking away an outer layer of cheap pottery (the person's exterior or their persona).
