    I now buy this man’s line of JP amps instead of Kicker, Rockford Fosgate, & Skar. These are the brands I have used for years or currently using but Big D Wiz talked so highly of JP amps so I trust him and swapped my Skar RP 800 out and ordered a JP8 (800 x 1) class D mono amp and it runs reliably at 1 ohm pushing more power, drawing less current, & extremely beautiful, reliable and priced right, now hooked up with my (1) Skar 10” SVR DVC2 in factory Skar Enclosure and it has slave mode were (2) JP8’s are linkable and capable of lower ohm loads; but like he said before why push my JP8 to a 1/2 ohm? I have now purchased a (2nd) JP8 amp and plan to run them in tandem in slave mode linked together and ordered the Skar 10” EVL DVC2 & a Skar SPL enclosure and I can’t wait to hook all of it up in my 20’ Honda Civic.#🔊❤️#Down4Sound#JP8🔥⚡️✨#JPamps🔊👑!

    I can’t decide whether to drive my single, sealed (1cuft) 12” Audiofrog subwoofer at 1 or 2 ohm. Subwoofer is 500wrms. Helix M One Amp can do either but @ 1ohm it’s 600w and @ 2 it’s 410w. My goal is accuracy, efficiency, and SQ. I’m leaning towards 2ohm. But is sacrificing that extra power worth however much more “efficient” it will be? It’s under the drivers seat so it has plenty of breathing room.

    Always run dvc in series then subs to each other in parallel. When you wire dvc in parallel you only use half of voice coil winding and only half of motor force, wire dvc in series to get most motor force 💪

    Why? Burps at my peak, rise to 4ohms when wired at 1ohm.......so 1/4 ohm burps get better numbers. Playing music on my system would be a no no wired at 1/4. As the 4x rise is not consistent over my bandwidth. If you learn your system you can wire down sometimes. Lol if your a noob.............like price says ''don't do this''

    Running a JL 13W7 on a JP23v2 wired @ .75 and with rise, it averages 1 ohm. Amp and sub seem pretty happy so far and sounds great! I rarely ever run into clipping and really love the dynamic headroom. Electrical is stock alt with big 3, (sky high OFC 1/0) dual AGM batteries and a Rockford 10F cap. I could probably benefit from a 3rd AGM, but I wonder if strapping a pair of JP23's and wiring my 13W7 in series @ 3 ohms would be more efficient? Someone said your coil's motor force goes up when you wire in series. Anybody have any experience with this?

    If an amp is rated to handle .5 ohm the engineer that designed the board has dropped the rail voltage on the board to accommodate for that load. Does it work? Sure but the components on that board will work more efficiently if it was designed to operate at 1ohm.

    I have always just bought an amp that is rated for 2x what my subs are rated rms. Out of all the systems we tested with our AMM-1 not a single one that was wired at 1 ohm ever dropped below low 2.x ohms from 20-80hz. My current work car build is a Kicker 600.1 (minimum 2 ohm load) on a pair of Alphard 12's. It's wired at 1 ohm and it's still not seeing 2 ohms anywhere from 20-80hz. But doing the .5 route I won't do. When I build my next system for the work truck it's gonna be a 2400 @ 1 ohm amp on a pair of 600 rms each 12's wired at 1 ohm.

    Even experienced car audio people can fall into this trap. I did. Had a Power Acoustik RZR-2300(yes, I know an el-cheapo amp) running a single 12” Savard HiQ dual 2 ohm sub. I ram the coils in parallel and it ram fine for 2 months, until it blew. Had a lot of errands to run and had the volume cranked for 30 minutes. The amp was warm but not hot, it just stopped working. No smoke, no smells, it just stopped working. It was not due to the electrical system on the car. Power and ground wires are OFC 4 gauge and are only 4’ long each wired to a lithium 12v battery.

    And note for anyone reading this...If you have a 1 ohm stable mono block amp (One channel) even if it has 2 + and 2 - speaker outputs..its still 1 channel.. Yes you can run 2 subs but pay close attention!!! If you want to run the amp at 1ohm with 2 subs...BUY 2 SUBS THAT SAY DUAL 4 OHM VOICE COILS or (4 ohm DVC)..YOU CAN WIRE THOSE TWO SUBS TO A FINAL OHM LOAD OF 1 OHM!! DO NOT BUY 2 SUBS THAT SAY 2 OHM DVC!!!!! WHEN YOU WIRE THOSE 2 SUBS TOGETHER YOU WILL COME TO A FINAL OHM LOAD OF .5 OHMS AND FRY YOUR AMP!!!! There are plenty of tutorials that show how to wire them together and it isn't hard to understand...

    U either have blown it by now, but if u do it right u can get it at .75 ohms and not hurt your amp. Because it will never see .75 ohms all the time. He explains box rise and thats when your amp changes ohms load with the amount of flex or rise in your sub box.

People think higher power is always better but there’s an equal opposite reaction. Heat, uncontrolled burst, and loss of sharpness with subs is not worth it.

    Just put a fan or two on it. Overall efficiency doesn't mean shit to me. I'm getting much more power for the price. My rp4500.1d makes 4500 at 12.5 volts with a 1 ohm load. Account for box rise and I'll never see those numbers while playing music. Run it at a half ohm and depending on the frequency I'll double my output to just about 8k. Even with the rise in getting 4k at 40 hz, which is my highest resistance frequency.

    I think people run their amps lower than 2 ohms because they are too cheap to just buy another amp. To really have an amp is putting the least amount of stress and heat on it. Typically the automotive amplifier is 4ohm like the standard for home hi-fi is 6 or 8 ohm.

  • @HoUsEoFcAtS78

    @HoUsEoFcAtS78

    That's where you're wrong. You say people are too cheap. You need the proper electrical for your amplifier. If you start running more than maybe 1,000 watts, you NEED upgraded electrical! Not just add another amplifier. So for you to say "too cheap", is pretty reckless. Maybe they also don't want multiple sub amps. Maybe they want a mids and highs amp and a sub amp. I plan on wiring my JP23 to .5ohms. box rise will keep it around 1ohm. I have the electrical to support it. And it will be properly cooled. Purposely trying to troll the comments because it makes you feel better about yourself is a clear indicator of narcissistic tendencies. In other words,you're being a bully. Now do everyone a favor. Stop saying people are too cheap. You don't know their circumstances. Or why they do how they do.

    Or you can take two cheap 250 rms dvc subs & 4 cheap 1000.1 1 ohm amplifiers and run 1 to each coil on you 20 year old car with the original alternator and $50 walmart battery, and crank that volume knob all the way up on the amp its labeled gain, anyway volume/gain all the same. Should be set, running it that way you don't even need to use a fuse on your power wire, or couple runs of speaker wire twisted really good together works just as well they just want you to pay more money and get that 1/0 ofc wire. Last but not least, any system sounds the very best in max clipping mode so make sure frequency is up and bass boost if your amp has it. Loosen them latches in the rear and shove the speakers all the way against it, have your whip sounding like there's an alligator in the trunk. If you do all that I can promise you that you will never have to worry about that system ever again. P. S. If you do any of that, or even consider it then go ahead and put whatever system you have on market place and get whatever money you can and go pay for some schooling because it would most definitely be more needed then that few seconds you might get with your system. Think smart, read first, ask questions, get someone to help, message me, research it's simple once you learn how everything works and how to make everything work together and not fighting each other. Have a blessed day. Love the video J.P I still learn from your videos and I've been playing in the audio game for 25+ years. 💯🤝✌️

    You need to know what your doing and something's you absolutely need to have before considering wiring under 1ohm first and foremost. #1 you should absolutely have an oscilloscope so that you can insure your amplifier is 100% not going to be clipping. #2 knowing what your amp is clamping/the current pull so you know the amperage your amplifier will be pulling to support it's needs such as high output alternator and appropriate amount of lithium. So for instance my 2 amps will be pulling well over 1000 amps of current each at 0.5ohms I am running a 16v charging system with 260ah of lithium I can support about 30,000 Watts of power when my amps at most will be putting out 15,000 Watts of clamped power so I built my bank to support double the amount of current so no matter what I will not be starving my amplifiers of voltage or especially current/amperage. #3 knowing what your amp/amps can and cannot do if you're running a full bridge amplifier even if you have the right voltage and current to back it up you should not be running under 1 ohm EVER! The biggest thing is know what you're doing and the consequences of your actions before you wired down into the dirt as we call it, some of this Audio equipments very expensive we cannot afford to be making poor judgment calls based on a lack of knowledge I would highly recommend following "barevids" on KZread Sam is extremely intelligent and you can learn so so much with Hands-On approach to the equipment we use and how it works.
