SeaWorld sucks. And what I get really mad at is that when an orca kills their trainer, they have to put the orca down. I'm like "Bitch! You killed two innocent creatures just because you wanted to keep an orca!" You killed the trainer and the orca. Also whenever I talk about why SeaWorld is bad people are like "Ya they should just set the animals free." No! Sadly you can't set the orcas and dolphins free, why? Because they now can't live in the wild they have been in captivity for so long they cant fend for themselves.

A collapse dorsal fin is not just in captivity and its not just an unhealthy thing. A collapsed dorsal fin can be an unhealthy orca but it mainly happens in the wild to older whales who stay closer to the surface of the water with their fins poking out. Now in captivity they can not go as deep or as fast so that dorsal fin can not build up its strength, like with older wild orcas, and collapses over. It does NOT just mean unhealthy or stressed, it can just simply be lack of muscle buildup.

We have one VERY close to our home, and when I visited for the first time I actually started crying? The preforming tanks were just incredibly small, it was so depressing. The fins were grasping to the side of their bodies, and their tails were touching the sides of the tank. They looked so sad, even the trainers looked kind of depressed. It’s giving a whale a CAGE, a prison cell. Theyre meant to swim freely, not sit in this little box all day. It’s so cruel. Hopefully one day they’ll learn. If they have enough money to spend on roller coasters, etc, why can’t they spend it on better homes? They shouldn’t even be doing this in the first place. Unless the orca is SEVERELY damaged, I believe they shouldn’t even touch them.

Amie Morales they donate millions of dollars every year from their profits to conservation organizations. The also have rehabilitation and rescue groups for injured animals in the wild, and they aid them till their health is good & release them back into the wild. They clean up all the trash on the beaches & rivers & make sculptures out of them in their parks to raise awareness of our plastic use. They don’t give straws or lids in the parks for as long as I can remember. “I was green before it was cool” and that’s exactly true. I never would have wanted to be a Marine biologist if it weren’t for seaworld.

Y’all should watch free Willy it’s a movie about an orca caught from the wild and put in a tank two small for a dolphin and his dorsal fin collapses and he is so stressed out the only thing that keeps him calm is a boy who plays a harmonica and that boy and the other employees take the orca to the ocean back to his pod who was waiting for him the whole time he was at the place and he is a lot happier I’m pretty sure it’s based off a true story but I’m not completely sure

Oh my......for a being, to be free and then taken, stolen, kidnapped from your environment and mostly your family, your group and being locked up forever, it makes me very angry.....I can't imagine the sadness and deep pain they must go through. And they can't even decided to end their lives, to end their pain.....they have to live through the pain because humans want so, until they die of too much pain and depression.

What do u think about zoos?! I don’t go to them. I just can’t. I’m not sure if it’s all humane or not but it never looks it to me. My favorite animal are elephants & the ones at my zoo are always swaying side to side. In a very small gated enclosure. Elephants also travel long and far and It makes me sick!

I definately agree with what your saying about the orcas in captivity, as they are a very large animal that shouldnt be living in a small tank, but seaworld also has very fun non-animal related attractions, and they are a huge part the ocean wildlife and marine biology resue effort. So by supportingg them, you are supporting their rescue efforts, and supporting them in making sure that even though the whales belong in the ocean, they are well cared for. Thanks for making your videos though!!! I love watching them, especially the ones with desmond, mango, and ur blue tongued skink.

I feel so bad bc I've been to a place where they have dolphins and I'm pretty sure they got them all from the wild. But they were kind of like a sanctuary, they took injured dolphins and got them back to good health and released the ones they could, but all couldn't go back to wild so some were in captivity. What do you think about this?

Katy Sullivan in my opinion it's better than what most are doing but I believe in not meddling with nature in the first place. If they can save them great. the best they could do with the ones that stay is educate the public

This video makes me so sad...I have really enjoyed watching your videos as I am looking into becoming a conure parent, and then I saw this video. I understand that the video Blackfish does a great job portraying SeaWorld in a negative light, but let me assure you that gathering all your information from one source is very limiting to your understanding of any situation. I have been a Sea Lion trainer for the last decade and one of the main people in charge of some of the busiest rescue seasons to date. If you ever have any questions please don't hesitate to message me...I'm not one to attack and force you to change your mind, but I will answer whatever questions you may have. I will admit that I have never worked directly with the whales, but I work alongside their trainers and respect their understanding of these creatures. Back to your pets...your birds are beautiful and you treat them wonderfully. Their enclosures seem to be thought out and their enrichment devices seem to do their job and really mentally stimulate them; especially while you are away and they have to stay in their enclosure. Animals are a wonderful part of our world and by showing people how amazing they are (like you are doing with your videos) it creates a burning desire for people to protect them...and our world needs more of that. Animals are going extinct all the time and we need more people like you that care about them and share with the world why we should care about their wild counterparts 😊 So even though we may disagree about SeaWorld, I can see the love and passion you have for animals; and in the end, that's what matters most to me. Take care and I hope that if we end up adopting a bird that they will appear to be as happy as yours 👍

Also I swam with wild bottlenose and spotted dolphins in a marine biology study and they are extremely intelligent, curious, and social. It's so fucked to think the animals I interacted with in the wild are kept in tiny ass pools (keep in mind the dolphins did "interact" with us but not the way trained ones did they just looked at us and one tried to give me a piece of seaweed it was "carrying" and passing to other dolphins)

In Finland a dolphinarium in Särkänniemi amusement park shut its doors last October, citing a change in public attitudes towards captive dolphin shows as the reason for reduced public attendance and profits. The dolphins are now living in Greece 😦
