Wireless systems are a game changer, they give you the freedom to create and play music without being tethered to an amplifier, studio desk or PA System. However wireless technology of the past has sometimes been a little hit and miss, with old analog systems not giving you the purest signal and tone, occasionally they might attract interference and in some cases you had to pay additionally to own a frequency range - how crazy is that!
But these days it's SO MUCH EASIER! With new digital systems like the Shure GLXD+ Dual Band Wireless systems, the tone is as pure as it was leaving the instrument, theres no dropouts because of they run on specific digital frequencies, and you don't have to pay anything extra! That, and the fact that they're so smart that if you were to run into some unwanted interference the units will switch to another clean channel automatically before you can even tell!

I have 2 NUX units and have gigged with them for more than a year without a hitch. The older ones are 2.4 ghz and I had no trouble with them or interference but the new 5.8 or AWESOME! Works fine with active pickups and I have yet to run out of battery. They're small and very reliable. ZERO guitar noise and plenty of punch. Under $180. I HIGHLY recommend them. I have 2 sets of Line 6 top of the line and they're absolutely NO better than the tiny NUX. If they have any latency you couldn't prove it by me. Distance is fine up to 100' line of sight but in a club I've never even got close to having them drop out. Rock on!

Great video, very useful information, especially over radio radio frequencies & not needing to pay for a slot anymore. On the same sort of subject would you consider doing a video on iem? As these seem to use completely different frequencies and potentially could run into unforeseen issues. Thanks again for all your great videos and reviews, they are certainly helpful & entertaining 👍👍🎸🎼🎵🎶

Just picked up the GLXD16+. It can run off your board’s power supply which was a huge selling point. But be warned if you had an older Shure unit with rechargeable batteries, (I had the GLXD14), the battery shape changed ever so slightly so that they are incompatible with the new units. 😑

it cannot be run off of your pedalboard power supply -- it needs 12 volts! It may work, but in case of a power interruption it may go wild and not re-sync' unless you unplug/replug it.

Yeah, the old Schaffer Vega Diversity Systems they used were some of the first wireless' around! They actually changed the tone quite a bit by adding a pre amp boost, that was a secret to the ACDC tone! Check out SoloDallas on KZread, he's the guru when it comes to this being the ACDC secret!

Hats off, great demo , 🤟 The old version is awesome, the new version WHAT’S NEW VERSUS PRIOR VERSION Dual frequency band operation (2.4GHz and 5.8GHz). The v1 never dropped out NEW Guitar ¼” input in the receiver. Wow Battery now lasts ~12 hours. V1 16 hours The Latency is almost double other wireless systems, and has increased on this v2 compared to v1 working on that would be a Big improvement Is it really worth the extra £250 plus, I’m disappointed with Shure certainly not upgrading
