M series MacBooks are the best. Gaming, performance, features, ports (+ magsafe 3 with fast charging), screen, touch id. Only problem is no glowing logo and hard to upgrade for noobs.

I’ve used 2015 13” Pro daily. Buddies are all getting the M2 14” Pro, citing reasons like “battery efficiency” and “nice travel on keyboard”. The ‘15 came out before the problem-laden “butterfly keyboard” and my original battery is at 81% after 7.25 years. Blazing speed: 3.1GHz dual-core Intel Core i7 (Turbo Boost up to 3.4GHz) with 4MB shared L3 cache. 512gb ssd. I’ll get a new battery someday. If it ain’t broke don’t fix, and don’t break it. Cheers🎉

Had a 2014 model for seven years, upgraded the SSD to a 1TB M.2 about three years ago. Upgraded to a 2021 M1 Pro two years ago and the 2014 model went to my mom. Beast of a machine!

I have my 2015 13" model. I bought it when the new USB C came out. I went with the older model because of all of the direct connections (HMDI, card reader, Headphones, USB type A, etc.) I just replaced the battery today. Everything on this Macbook works and it looks almost as good as when I first got it. I don't even put a cover on it.

managed to grab one of these a couple years ago for less than £200 because the trackpad and keyboard didnt work, £7 on a new ribbon cable and about £40 on a fresh battery and it was fully operational

Just got an early 2015 13 inch Retina for £185. Fully functioning, great condition with only a couple of scratches on the case and less than 500 battery cycle count. Was planning on re-selling it soon but honestly I might keep it for a while.

People are panicking over screen delamination like it's actually an issue, all you need to do is use your fingers to peel off the rest of the lamination and voila! You have a new screen. Sure it will cause more glare outdoors but you can always sit in the shade, I don't even use my laptop when I'm outdoors, I'm usually too busy appreciating mother nature

You cannot "peel off" the anti glare, rather use listerune on a microfiber and polish away the coating

Just got mine a couple days ago and it’s flawless. Picked it up for 299 and no visual nor technical problems. Loving the glowing Logo. Montery was on it and I downgraded to ElCapitan 2015 (factory default) and from there I upgraded to BigSur. Will leave it at that until BigSur gets no more updates and I will upgrade to Montery.

@@sagartmgg it arrived totally blanked , no software was installed I’m guessing that’s how they send it. So I had to install the software, not hard just a little extra work. But after installing it I can say I am in love with my laptop. Also I had to find ways to install Monterey os because as you know they no longer allow upgrades on 2015 models. Legacy patch and now it’s on Monterey and I’m loving my purchase.

I honestly don't care how long things take to load on a computer, oh so everything takes a few seconds longer on it than it did last year?? So what?? Creativity application rendering is going to take 5 minutes? Ten minutes? An hour?? OK I'll go make a cup of tea or go for a walk! Honestly people need everything to happen NOW NOW INSTANT. People are so miserable because they're always looking for better, faster and flashier, screw all that noise. I sold my Legion 5 laptop with ryzen 7 and rtz 3060 and bought a 2015 MBP instead, now I have an extra £700 in my bank AND a kick ass macbook

it's obvious you never used your laptop for anything useful. those who works in their laptop, for them those extra minutes are much more valuable than you think. for example when i edit my projects it would take almost 8 hours just to render my clips with an 10th gen intel processor with dedicated graphics card. but my MacBook pro m2 does the same task in about 5 hours.

i just put a samsung 970 evo pro 2tb ($80 on amazon) and a adapter in mine, new battery coming. scored it with a apple wireless trackpad for $200, not for profit place, so gave all i had in my wallet, $210. it's a beast for sure, runs hot so got fan curve going and already cleaned the inside and changed the paste.

Same mine like brand new. 2015 13 i7 16gb 500ssd maxed. My only gripe with it was how warm it would get before the fans turned on. I fixed this issue with the free mac fan controller app. Trust me its nice

I have a 2012 MacBook Pro retina and it is not a great laptop at the moment. It seems to have an issue where it glitches and stutters all the time. Maybe something to do with the dedicated GPU, it also charges up to 60% then stops. Maybe the 13 inch models are better

I have a MacBook Pro 2015 15 inch whichI bought it in August 2020 and it is good. Since I have MacOS 12.2 Monterrey, the issue I have is that if I use Logic or a program that I work on a project that are CPU intensive, without my laptop plugged in even at 60-90% of battery, the fans crank up and my MacBook shuts down with a low battery even the battery still has juice. If I plugged my MagSafe to charge my MacBook or reset the SMC it gives me an apple logo and goes back to normal. If I use CPU intensive programs plugged in even if battery at 100% charge, it does not shut down on me with a low battery screen unless if I do not have my MacBook plugged into the power source.

8 gigs of RAM for a laptop in 2015 is INSANE. Did you know they have this same exact beautiful screen on every new 13' MPB to this day? 2024 will change that finally. 2015 is still the one to buy. I liked this laptop so much I finally switched from Android to iPhone for the first time today. iPhone 11 Pro, all my stuff is synced up and the air pods switch between devices super fast. And EVERYBODY misses the apple light in the back.

Was the keyboard and mouse pad not working, that’s what happened to mine
My 2015 MacBook has traveled with me from different countries and deployed with me on ships, and it's still running beautifully. I would rather upgrade it a little bit and clean it up rather than replace it all together.

I love older macs simply because their repairability and reliablity. I bought a brand new 2012 macbook pro from 2015. I still use them, mainly for browsing.

Had a 2014 model for seven years, upgraded the SSD to a 1TB M.2 about three years ago. Upgraded to a 2021 M1 Pro two years ago and the 2014 model went to my mom. Beast of a machine!
I have my 2015 13" model. I bought it when the new USB C came out. I went with the older model because of all of the direct connections (HMDI, card reader, Headphones, USB type A, etc.) I just replaced the battery today. Everything on this Macbook works and it looks almost as good as when I first got it. I don't even put a cover on it.
I use my ‘15 air for school and I love it
For first time I'm using a Mac and coupe of hours ago got mine refurbished 2015 A1502 PRO line and I'm without words, so different from the other brands. Already got the tablet and smartphone from the brand. Apple forever!

managed to grab one of these a couple years ago for less than £200 because the trackpad and keyboard didnt work, £7 on a new ribbon cable and about £40 on a fresh battery and it was fully operational

Just got an early 2015 13 inch Retina for £185. Fully functioning, great condition with only a couple of scratches on the case and less than 500 battery cycle count. Was planning on re-selling it soon but honestly I might keep it for a while.
I have the same model, install Sonoma using OCL patches. It runs smoothly.
People are panicking over screen delamination like it's actually an issue, all you need to do is use your fingers to peel off the rest of the lamination and voila! You have a new screen. Sure it will cause more glare outdoors but you can always sit in the shade, I don't even use my laptop when I'm outdoors, I'm usually too busy appreciating mother nature

You cannot "peel off" the anti glare, rather use listerune on a microfiber and polish away the coating

Recently got mine; my dad's old daily driver. Just needed a reset and fresh os install to Monterey. Still a beast, and more than enough to handle my varsity work.
Just got mine a couple days ago and it’s flawless. Picked it up for 299 and no visual nor technical problems. Loving the glowing Logo. Montery was on it and I downgraded to ElCapitan 2015 (factory default) and from there I upgraded to BigSur. Will leave it at that until BigSur gets no more updates and I will upgrade to Montery.

@@sagartmgg it arrived totally blanked , no software was installed I’m guessing that’s how they send it. So I had to install the software, not hard just a little extra work. But after installing it I can say I am in love with my laptop. Also I had to find ways to install Monterey os because as you know they no longer allow upgrades on 2015 models. Legacy patch and now it’s on Monterey and I’m loving my purchase.

My 2010 mbp 13 still works. The only upgrades were hdd to ssd and os to Catalina.
I honestly don't care how long things take to load on a computer, oh so everything takes a few seconds longer on it than it did last year?? So what?? Creativity application rendering is going to take 5 minutes? Ten minutes? An hour?? OK I'll go make a cup of tea or go for a walk! Honestly people need everything to happen NOW NOW INSTANT. People are so miserable because they're always looking for better, faster and flashier, screw all that noise. I sold my Legion 5 laptop with ryzen 7 and rtz 3060 and bought a 2015 MBP instead, now I have an extra £700 in my bank AND a kick ass macbook

it's obvious you never used your laptop for anything useful. those who works in their laptop, for them those extra minutes are much more valuable than you think. for example when i edit my projects it would take almost 8 hours just to render my clips with an 10th gen intel processor with dedicated graphics card. but my MacBook pro m2 does the same task in about 5 hours.

@@mimat_ because it was a £1000 gaming machine I did very little gaming on, I decided I'd rather have the cash in my savings account and the MacBook does what I need it to do i.e KZread, online banking and spreadsheets. Not all of us NEED a performance machine

My 2015 MacBook Pro 13" lasted me about 7 years before it slowed down like crazy. Now, I use a windows laptop, but I must say, I am impressed of the 2015 MBP.
Still perfectly good machines.

Congrats buddy! Got one myself but having some issues. Tried factory resetting it but it only gives sierra OS and after trying to download it several times, it still says error and try again.
What about the late 2013 one ?
I love mine also but wifi card is faulty - not working at all- Apple said a fortune to replace
i just put a samsung 970 evo pro 2tb ($80 on amazon) and a adapter in mine, new battery coming. scored it with a apple wireless trackpad for $200, not for profit place, so gave all i had in my wallet, $210. it's a beast for sure, runs hot so got fan curve going and already cleaned the inside and changed the paste.

Same mine like brand new. 2015 13 i7 16gb 500ssd maxed. My only gripe with it was how warm it would get before the fans turned on. I fixed this issue with the free mac fan controller app. Trust me its nice

There's bugger all difference between the i5 and i7, like 3% difference if your lucky.

if you do any kind of rendering on it a base fanless m1 air with 8gb of ram would run laps around this thing as it ties the best intel 16 inch in compute without taking into account the video engines built into m1 for different codecs.

which mac are you on? the 2015 support monteray, and it runs quite smoothly if you have the 16gb confg with i7.
I have a 2012 MacBook Pro retina and it is not a great laptop at the moment. It seems to have an issue where it glitches and stutters all the time. Maybe something to do with the dedicated GPU, it also charges up to 60% then stops. Maybe the 13 inch models are better
I have a MacBook Pro 2015 15 inch whichI bought it in August 2020 and it is good. Since I have MacOS 12.2 Monterrey, the issue I have is that if I use Logic or a program that I work on a project that are CPU intensive, without my laptop plugged in even at 60-90% of battery, the fans crank up and my MacBook shuts down with a low battery even the battery still has juice. If I plugged my MagSafe to charge my MacBook or reset the SMC it gives me an apple logo and goes back to normal. If I use CPU intensive programs plugged in even if battery at 100% charge, it does not shut down on me with a low battery screen unless if I do not have my MacBook plugged into the power source.

I have the exact same one but I’ve had it a bit longer the fan does it and it’s so frustrating especially while doing schoolwork so I use it as a home computer and got a 2016 mac and I definitely recommend the 16

Just got my 2015 MacBook pro with macOS mojave and was able to upgrade it to MacOS Sonoma and it's amazing recommend grabbing them while there cheap and u can still program them cuz it won't be for ever!

I used to like my 13' 2013 MBP until it became super slow, super loud and hot. Cleaned up the fan, heatsink, put new battery&512 ssd. Still slow 😢😢😢

8 gigs of RAM for a laptop in 2015 is INSANE. Did you know they have this same exact beautiful screen on every new 13' MPB to this day? 2024 will change that finally. 2015 is still the one to buy. I liked this laptop so much I finally switched from Android to iPhone for the first time today. iPhone 11 Pro, all my stuff is synced up and the air pods switch between devices super fast. And EVERYBODY misses the apple light in the back.
if you’re gonna buy one of these older retinas i strongly urge you to get a 15 inch, way better for the same price

Best model of macbook ever released A little bit underpower compared to other models released in the same period but damn macos runs smoothly like butter so it doesn't really matter except you want to do some intensive work then don't, leave it alone
There's virtually no performance difference between i5 and i7 on these machines, I've used both and I noticed no difference.

my current mac book pro is from late 2014 i think. and i am going to upgrade it soon, because it got SO slow and my battery lasts about 2 hours max if i watch something online. even garage band or something like that kills it in an hour. don‘t you have those problems?
