Question: If I never connect to the internet again with my, say Phantom 4 Pro than how do I receive needed updates for my drone?

For FYI "The Drone Advocacy Alliance is sponsored by and its website maintained by DJI Technology, Inc. in partnership with the drone community." I do believe there are concerns on both sides. I also want a U.S. company to challenge DJI UAS systems but just outright banning DJI systems is not quite the right answer.

I disagree DJI should be banned because they've proven they do not have US interest in mind. Spur US innovation by doing this.

Question: I am an Expat living overseas. I own a Mavic 3. I have no desire to go back to the US, much less fly my drone there. How does this DJI ban affect me?

For the FCC part is that for RTK or GPS. How the controller communicates might be open airways but I'm assuming GPS is not.

We need to find out what vehicle our representatives drive and ban the chips for the car. That will wake them up

It seems we will always be reactive to legislation because the advocacy groups seem very fragmented. Our industry is suffering from multiple short comings from manufacture diversity and better standardization (county, state, federal). Whom do we support for proactive influence?

I'm actually hoping and looking forward to a DJI ban. American drone companies out there want to get into this space but can't because of a Chinese subsidies. We ban their drones and we create American jobs in the process. This is exactly what we should be doing.
