The Stormlight Archive is Brandon Sanderson's massive epic fantasy series, and it is what I would call his magnum opus. The 4th book, Rythym of War, is releasing later this year so now is a great time to start the series! Let's talk about why you should read The Stormlight archive.

@@scorpian221 Hmmm well if they like short stories then I would recommend they read 'The Emperor's Soul' which I'd say is one of the best fantasy short stories I've read and one of my favorite stories by Sanderson. Mistborn is a great series to start with, it was my first introduction to the Cosmere and while I don't think it's as good as Stormlight it's still very engaging and a fantastic intro to the Cosmere.

@@scorpian221 I'd second "The Emperor's Soul" and add "Shadows for Silence in the Forests of Hell," another short story of his which is also set in the Cosmere. If they like one or both of those, then (as has already been said) Mistborn is a great place to start for the novels.

Hey there... haven't read in a while, should I re-read the beginning of Stormlight Archives (I've already read the first two, like when they came out), or begin finally the WOT, for which I feel a kind of dislike, fromm what I've heard about it, but it's also a pillar of fantasy, so...? Also, I hate Sadeas while listening to Kaladin's chapters, but then I suddenly love him whenever Dalinar talks to him. Typing out half dozen instead of six is like when people who used text slang would spell the word wrong to make it faster to type but still have extra characters 😂😂 so deeply ingrained; if you're thinking of numbers in your head is 6 replaced with half dozen there too 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, HALF A DOZEN, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, DOZEN, 13, 14?? Edit: Adding this edit so my entire comments not off topic. I agree, I think this series has become my all time favourite as well! As someone who has read this series and the rest of the Cosmere works several times over, this is a Fantastic video to explain why to read it without spoiling anything. The list of books that move me to tears, make me literally burst out laughing or exclaim wholeheartedly and give me goosebumps is very short and it all happens every time I start this series over. I am currently re-reading the series again for the eighth time and I am still finding new connections that are so subtle they are easy to miss. Every re-read is like reading a new book and one read through is never enough!

Glad you enjoyed!! The Mistborn books were the first of Sanderson I ever read, and I was in the same position as you after finishing them. I saw how huge the Stormlight Archive books are and was super intimidated, but honestly I'm so happy I decided to pick up The Way of Kings because I ended up enjoying stormlight even more than Mistborn (which is a series I really love). And as big as the books are, they actually read very fast once you become familiar with the world-building and get past some of the set up at the beginning. If you liked Mistborn then you most likely will enjoy stormlight as well!
