About the classes u reccomend: Red Mage is probably one of the hardest classes in terms of positioning, it's not a caster, it's a melee dps with the lowest HP pull, but insane burst in exchange. Something I personally do and see others do VERY often even in normal matches, is just marking a Red Mage from the beginning of the match and they just can't play the game, especially that their defensive options come at a cost of dps. Playing it well is very rewarding, but can be frustrating to learn for some. Black Mage is unplayable in high elo. If the enemies have a total of 2 brain cells, Black Mage is just getting deleted the moment they pop their limit break. Whenever I play a melee dps I just hard focus them and the games usually ends in a stomp because of that. Samurai.. I love it, played a lot of it in diamond and crystal and I just feel like their limit break should get a rework. Yes, in normal and low elo u can easily kill at least 2 ppl with it, but that's because no one there watches the HP bars and applied buffs and debuffs, but the most u usually get out of it in higher elo is 1 kill, which is not even guaranteed cuz it does 100% of HP and isn't a K.O. like Ninja's LB, so shield, for example, can save you. Then u add the fact that its recast is 2 minutes and it just feel BAD and slow. Considering how hard it is to set it up and the fact that u are playing basically a melee caster which is crazy easy to counter, the LB should be way more rewarding with this recast time, but it just isn't. Probably that's why I'm not seeing a lot of Samurais of late. Scholars are very underrated. Their kit used correctly, allows u to often out-dps the actual dpses while also maintaining shield and buffs on your team and dmg reduction on the whole enemy team. Their limit break is also a sleeper, if your team stays near the fairy, they become nearly unkillable. There's very few Scholar players in pvp, but it's a strong choice. Even received a buff that actually makes u shield the whole team for 6-9k which used to be 4-6k. Also.. cool video. I'm glad some content creators continute to give pvp some love and attention. :)

While I do enjoy the series rewards of the PVP, there is little to no incentive to push rank for a portrait frame. Everything in series can be gotten from a daily frontlines. Hoping for those features by engaging the content as is doesn't drive home the point it needs change.

the no team que and also not even being able to communicate with your team is a feels bad in a mmorpg thats what we play it for so until they change that I dont think pvp can go far

Sadly it won't change, the whole reason they took away communication beyond the text macros in game was to limit toxicity and wintrading as much as possible(the latter obviously didn't work), since back then it apparently was super toxic. I'm pretty sure the team is just scared at the potential cesspool of toxicity that can come for this game's PVP now, considering that. Kinda sad, since it's unavoidable anyways with how some people just spam "Nice job" when they see others make mistakes in ranked.

And there is always 1 who is an idiot, limiting communication just makes pvp bad, you can't talk about strategy, can't call out your team to wait when you get wiped out, most of the times we lose because when we get wiped out people start to go back one by one and get killed ... And can't even give people advice what they do wrong, and they will continue to do it wrong over and over again because they don't know it is wrong.

Sky Shatter as an ability feels so good. I just did my Series 3 grind in like 4 days (1-25) spamming Crystalline Conflict to get that baller armour glam, though I did it almost all in unranked (which had loads of players!). I also really enjoyed MCH and WAR alongside DRG, all doing a different job but feel powerful.

As a monk main, I can confirm that if the front line or healers don't help the backline, I will melt them, and many matches are decided wether or not they counter my flanks.

I been playing ffxiv going on a month now and just started doing PvP and I have been loving it so far … coming from WoW PvP this is a very refreshing take on PvP!

It's not bad but the jobs severely lack buttons and not being able to queue with friends completely kill this mode.

I don’t really care if the jobs lack buttons. The fact that each job has their individual playstyle is what makes pvp fun for me.

Once you learned how to play with SGE and GNB you'll be addicted. Both are great for Crystalline conflict.

The most annoying melee to play against as ranged or caster would be Monk. A good Monk will ruin your game.

Honestly ranking in this game is not a good time to play, rankings suck, how are you gold and get grouped up with bronze and unranked players that literally have no idea what they are doing and get hard stuck in a rank because of how it places you. Not fun, if they add atleast duo que for rank it would be bearable to play to rank up

Never played CC for the experience but for the rewards. It’s horrible.

If you do the MSQ, you will have more than enough XP to get a class to max level without any sort of grind at all. If you don't want to do the story or level, just buy a boost to 80 + a story skip and spend a few hours grinding to 90. I don't see how leveling is any more or less engaging in WoW. Either way it's a bit of a grind, either way you can buy a boost to avoid said grind. As for the chill factor, not sure what that means to you specifically. Relaxing?

@@Dnzn the leveling will be boring no matter what, the constant reading you have to do because theres absolutely no voice lines. and if you want to do another job its just more leveling without the same msq that helped you lvl before. I hit 90 on scholar only to have to start right back to lvl 1 to play a WHM. grind out 30 levels to actually play the class as well...

@@Dnzn id recommend the Monk or Dragoon as they have an ok level of engagement at early level but if its not your thing then don't force yourself to play.

There will never be a good time to play PvP in FF14. It's easily one of the worst experiences across any MMORPG.

To be honest, Asian, Oceania servers are completely dead PVP wise. Wow is the PVP game here.

the PVP in XIV is legitimately one of the worst competitive experiences i've ever had with an online game, and i cannot recommend it to anyone.

IMO the single worst thing about the game mode

The matchmaking and win-trading are destroying the game mode, its not supposed to be taken seriously. I work nights so I usually come home to play around midnight-2am and my god the amount of unranked players you get on your team is horrendous. Also note its usually the same 10 ppl you que into so it becomes a nightmare of having the same teammates who die within the first 5 seconds of engagement then its just over. Dont pvp if you think its skill-based because its not

It is week two or three of the new season and i can tell you there are even now win traders and cheateers in the match that will saboutage you and break your winstreak. I sometimes have the luck to queue who is also good at pvp and even with good communication and two skilled people we managed to lose many times, which proves pvp is not about skill, its just who gets luckier with their teammates. As long as SE doenst do anything about the wintrades and cheaters ranked is a frustrating joke for those who enjoy it. Maybe insted of pvp with teams they should add a battle royal mode where everyone have the same amount of chance to win and where it does not depend on wether you team is full of bots or salty idiots.

That ff14 pvp is such a visual mess, too ugly to look at, it's too much

I never played it but from this video it looks awesome and makes me hope they can make the pvp scene better
