The minimul build variety just gives skill and technique more importance and i think its the best thing about it

Bloodborne was my first. I didn't even know what a perry was so yarnam was the hardest level in any game ever for me. I rage deleted it but couldn't stop thinking about it. Now fromsoftware has destroyed all other games for me. Nothing touches them.

Dude same my first run i had stopped playing because of the snake forest after that I had seen a walkthrough video that really helped me understand souls games and loved every bit of bloodborne (except chalice dungeons)

@@jimb0072 I once lost over 100k souls in that area and I was so livid. It was funny in hindsight since I was looking down at the pit of snakes and I thought "jeez that would suck to go down to" and then i fell down in that area bc an enemy hit me in the back knocking me all the way down.

Thats the thing about Bloodborne isnt it, even if it pisses you off you keep going back

The final boss of Sekiro is one of the only bosses that I immediately wanted to challenge again after I beat them, even though it took me like 30 tries to win. Such an amazingly fun and satisfying game.

@@specialknees6798 I got to his second (third, counting Genichiro) phase on my first try because I went in just loose and expecting to lose so I could learn his moveset, and then it took me thirty more tries to get back there consistently! I made it to his final phase about six or seven times before I got him on a really lucky, smooth run. It’s an incredible boss fight. Super fun if you know what you’re doing!

From Soft be like: Want to see me make a masterpiece? And again? And again? And again...

Dude how does this not have more views, I can tell you put an immense amount of effort into this, if this got out there I'm sure people would love it. Keep up the good work dude I hope you get recognized for it soon! Gonna keep watching your content from now on :)

My view on Sekiro regarding difficulty. It isn't easy but I think that its actually tougher for Fromsoft veterans because it took longer for us to adapt to the combat differences. I think lady butterfly was the point where I actually realize I needed to use posture and deflection (prior to that I was trying to play like it was DS). There are also a couple of spots that I think are designed to troll their fan-base which non-fromsoft players won't even notice.

I have a similar theory, I think later From games are designed to "trick" veterans. Bloodborne forces you to shun shield based combat, then Sekiro heavily punishes the roll-based combat that has been a series staple. In the end each game's difficulty is subjective but I think you're on to something for sure. I feel the same.

I think with DoH the cheese is a little more tricky to learn, you might as well just play the fight normally. Or maybe it was a skill issue on my end lol I always seem to have trouble getting the cheese down compared to just fighting him.

Sekiro will always be my top combat system. It's insane how fast and responsive the combat feels in that game.

@@ViviVariety yep, can never go wrong with sekiro. Plus, if I ever struggle with anything, there's a ton of tools too that basically unlocks a slew of strategies and routes you can take to make fights more manageable. That's why whenever someone feels like the game is too hard and drops it, I always ask if they wanna know the locations of some useful tools they can nab to maybe help their experience. In any case, nice video and good takes all around. Subscribed. I read your pinned comment too and I just wanna say, if it's okay, just keep doing what you're doing. This video blew up for a reason. Don't be pressured to do "better". I personally abide by this message, "I'm at my best when I'm happy." I love Elden Ring so far, it's perhaps the best in the series at capturing that sense of discovery just like the original Dark Souls. I have an idea to do a more complete review on Elden Ring, but it won't be done for a little bit. I'm working on a larger project I've put on the backburner for too long, but in the meantime, I've been working on a second ER playthrough to capture footage and articulate my thoughts on it. @@giancarlo1698 You should probably start with Elden RIng, its difficulty is very well-tuned and is much more open and your Bloodborne experience will carry over well. Then try Sekiro, Sekiro is an undoubtedly more rigid and harder game but has THE most satisfying learning curve just remember: keep trying, deflect don't dodge, keep very aggressive, and don't go hollow. TLDR; Elden ring is easier and more flexible and is great for a second entry, Skeiro is for those up for a rigid challenge.

Sekiro was my second game from FromSoft’s, Elden Ring being my first, but the quick gameplay and the ninja sword fighting aspect of it was just so badass. There’s so much about the game I love, the final boss (and the OTHER one near him) had me in a fit of rage for days but always had me wanting to come back again.

Bloodborne was my first souls game. I remember not even being able to finish the first level I would stuck in there for hours, but once I did beat it the amount of satisfaction I got was unbelievable 3 weeks later I finally beat the game. All I could say was, this game is a masterpiece.

Man When I saw the number of subscribers I thought there was a "K" after the number, youtube does not give you justice. The quality of the video is an S tier, how are people not watching you?!! I hope you get the recognition you deserve.

For me the love for the franchise came from the feeling of accomplishment each time a defeated a difficult boss and the intrigue of what’s next around the corner. Hands down the greatest games ever made

The quality of this video is so good I was shocked that you only have 300 subscribers, definitely one of the channels that are genuinely underrated

I started with ds1, found capra demon and blighttown to be a nightmare but it also had me hooked into overcoming the challenges. Ds2 is my favorite so far, working thru ds3 right now and partially doing elden ring and ds1 coop. Really excited to keep playing these games whenever I have time which is rarely with work and social life but I'm totally hooked. I'd tell anyone the beginning is the hardest as you're weak and with limited tools, as you progress and gain confidence in your setup, how to approach enemies timing wise, overcome some bosses, it all gets easier. I also fully stand by the "get gud" mantra, as funny as it is you will not succeed in these games if you don't try to improve on the mistakes that get you killed and challenge yourself to be better. Reading wiki or researching a build type or weapon can make things a tonne easier but even just trying a boss one more time after being super frustrated helps, I've done that a few times and it's worked, especially with some of the hardest bosses (the ones I found hard) like capra demon, o+s, 4 kings, gwyn, ruin sentinels, ancient dragon, fume knight, margott

I'm about 3 minutes in and honestly this is some of the best editing I've seen to perfectly fit the dry pan humour and informative style. The fact you have 2k subs is crazy you're blowing up soon brother

I think Bloodborne is just as fun as those two. The weakpoint system for bosses alone makes Bloodborne's bosses feel like some of the most unique in the series. Plus trick weapon combos. I'd argue that Bloodborne stands alongside sekiro and elden ring as the best from software games

You absolutely need to try them. DS1 and Bloodborne are must plays. Best gaming decision I ever made was downloading bloodborne on a whim back in 2019, it opened the door to playing each of my favorite games of all time (Bloodborne, Elden, DS1 and Sekiro).

The souls series was such a journey I absolutely love them and It's always great to be faced with a challenge. Great video, you just got yourself a new subscriber.

This was such an awesome video. I’ve been playing souls since 2015. My order went: -Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Dark Souls 2, Demon’s Souls, Dark Souls 3, Elden Ring, and then I just beat Sekiro for the first time over Christmas. These games are amazing

@@hikarinopower8090 Gintama has a slow start but… after wading through the first 20 episodes of it as my friend insisted, I was utterly hooked. It’s the single piece of media that has entertained me the most, gave me the most laughs, connected me to the characters most, and just enthralled me most out of everything I have seen. It truly is my favorite piece of media in general and it still holds a special place in my heart all these years later. The show’s staff put their heart and soul into and it shows. Truly a labor of love and I’m heartbroken that it’s over.

Can't believe you don't have atleast 100k subs... I've been playing From's games for years now and this is by far the best Fromsoftware retrospective i've ever seen! You absolutely get what makes each of them unique/amazing in it's own way and the enthuaism is felt through out the whole video. As you said, the first one is always your favorite - and for me? If I'm in the mood to just pick up and play something with smooth gameplay and not worry about planning a build, I look at Sekiro. If I'm in the mood for boss fights, DS3 all the way. Sometimes thinking about a favorite is like being asked about your favorite child!

one of the reasons this franchise is so succesfull is because of the amount of time you can replay the game without getting bored becuase of the genius level and character design (mainly ds1 and bb) and thats Miyazaki secret sauce ( if you will ) which made his work a timeless masterpiece

And I agree with you, it's because of the extremely polished gameplay and the brilliant level design that they never get old. Obviously nothing beats the first playthrough of a Mizazaki game but even those subsequent runs are engaging.

Sekiro's a totally different mindset, but once it clicks it's the best combat in any game! Bloodborne is next-most different since it's much more aggressive than Dark Souls, but is also super addictive.

@@hollandscottthomas this. Sekiro makes you feel like you're "re-learning" what sekiro has already mastered. Every successful parry, mikiri counter and jump evasion makes it feel more and more closer to how wolf actually fights. The different execution animations for every boss is also a really nice touch. It shows how much wolf doesn't really hesitate in terms of ending fights, which is a lesson we, the players learn, later down the line.

Great video that deserves more recognition! The references you made that only players who have experienced these games will understand was such a nice touch man keep it up

Very good work, bro! Neo deflecting agent Smith made me laugh. Sekiro is my first and favorite FS game. Later i played Dark 1, Dark 2 and Demon's via RPCS3, now I'm at DS3. Pity that there's no way to play Bloodborne without a PS4...

I started with ds2 long time ago, an ex girlfriend gift. I will always be thankful to her for this. Because I love ds2, even if I know that is not the best, is like my child, I have a story with it that will be never be repeated. That first time is special after all. The one I'm missing a lot is Bloodborne, but I don't have a console and won't for a long time probably but I already love the game a lot

That's interesting. I played DS2 first as well and I find that people who start with it have a much more favourable impression of it than people who started with DS1 and took what is mechanically a step backward to 2. 2 might be my most replayed. Do you have a preference between 2 and 3?

I swear, this games have changed my life, I recognize this is no secret for other players that feel the same way as me. But still, how can a well developed game with such a grimm story in a brutal world can make you see the faintest glimmer of hope and ultimately make you stronger? Thank you Dark Souls.

You aren't alone mate, lots of others have mentioned how much this series has affected them. There's a unique magic that's hard to articulate, and for many, the idea of overcoming adversity gives people that feeling that maybe, some things aren't as impossible as you'd think.

I need to play sekiro. It’s the only game I haven’t gone through. Elden ring made me a souls head . I just started dark souls 3.

Bloodborne is the best starting point because it teaches you how to play Dark Souls: aggressively.

I actually agree wholeheartedly, like I know I shouldn't preach about how people should play, but I've always felt aggression was the way to go for the entire series. You want to take advantage of every opportunity and end engagements asap, and Bloodborne drills that into your head. If you start with BB, the fundamentals will help in every entry.

just got into this series myself and discovered berserk with it, this video show how special each and single one of them are, i only finished elden ring and just started bloodborne, but u just made me want to play them all. each game looks sick, the fanbase is just amazing so im very happy to have been presented to this series of game, i am looking forward for the rest and i will now go die by the hands of the black dogs from bloodborne for 2h

Great video! Started with Elden Ring and loved it so much that I had to try Sekiro next. Now I have more time in Sekiro than Elden Ring lol. The combat in Sekiro is some of the best of any video game, especially when you get a handle on it. After watching this video I am thinking of doing Dark Souls 3. I don't know if I have the patience for DS1 with the mechanics you mentioned. Helpful and thoughtful video friend 🙏

Thanks! I always appreciate the kind words. And I totally understand, like I'll always vouch for DS1 but it is a liiitttle janky. Definitely an acquired taste that you may or may not get used to.

Breaks my heart making it to the bosses arguments of this video,l. After POURING so much time into elden ring going back and reminiscing on all the glorious engaging challenging in the sense its not artificial difficulty just overall culminating a gameplay experience to go unmatched and be a huge change in gaming overall. Isshin the sword Saint is still to this day probably my favorite boss of the whole franchise and imo is the pinnacle of all of their efforts over the past decade.

Yeahhhh I admit to also having mixed feelings on Elden Ring's bosses. There are some I absolutely love, and others that are just...ugh. I have a theory that we wouldn't be so mixed on it if we weren't spoiled by such a good run of Old Hunters to DS3 to Sekiro. Then Elden Ring feels like a step back.

@@ViviVariety absolutely, just kind of disappointing like all the previous installments can easily name so many great bosses on a whim and elden ring just doesn't quite do the same thing, will say maliketh and rennala were huge standouts in my first playthrough but everything just seems more lackluster in subsequent plays. Hopefully they bring some big patch along with dlc and hope to see the game thrive for a good while

I'm with you on Malekith, for me I really liked him and Morgott. And while there's a lot to say on ER bosses, I will say that I really, really like the gameplay and story integration. It's super cool that Morgott is more or less this game's version of Genichiro, and the fact that Malekith is part of a sidequest is awesome. Bit of a teaser for the Elden Ring video but still, that's one of the highlights for me when it came to ER.

At first I was shocked to see a gintama clip thrown in the beginning but later on found out that you're a gintama fan since you straight up talked about it 🤣 nice to see my favorite get referenced! Definitely wanna try sekiro as well

Id say dark souls 2 because its wack Demon souls=super ez but dope Then dark souls 1 or 3 because they are good Lastly bloodborne and sekiro. Both have different playstyle than dark souls.

I'm a newcomer to the Souls series, I've just finished Bloodborne yesteday for the first time! And I want to give Demon's Souls a try on the PS5. Watching your video I finally understood what body form and world tendancy means! Thanks a lot. I thought it was way more complicated (still is, but you did make it a lot easier to understand).

fantastic video always happy to watch an essay on my favorite game(s) series!

For me, my favorite and first is dark souls 3. The bosses on dark souls 3 are so good, the designs the patterns and oh my songs, even tho i died like "75?" times to dragonslayer armour its one of my favs in the game.

Great video man. It's been said before but these games really reinvigorated my love for the medium of video games, and love of myself. Things haven't been going well for me the past couple of years but beating these games one by one is reminding me I can do this: I can go out into the world and face the perils of earning my keep and my dreams. Edit: It's gonna suck ass at times, and I will experience extreme grief at worst. But I just have to rest, take a breath, and go again- smarter, faster.

I'm always happy to hear how much these games help people. I know they aren't the hardest games out there, but it's always comforting to know that when push comes to shove, we're more capable than we think we are.

I love this series. No matter what though, I always have trouble making a pure magic build though. I always wind up strong jack of all trades. Especially DS2 and DS3. I love the lore and even though DS2 is the controversial one, I can't help but find vendrick's and aldia's dialogue fascinating.

I actually have the same problem, I've never liked going a pure mage build. I usually have more fun doing a hybrid or a spellsword kind of build instead. And I feel you on DS2's lore. I love DS3 more on a pure gameplay basis, but the lore of DS2 is way more interesting, it feels like a true "sequel" that builds on the original foundation.

One moment that stuck with me ever since playing ds2 (my first souls game) was opening a door and getting jumpscared by a (nonmob) skeleton right behind it that loudly shattered into pieces at the mildest touch. Not very epic or beautiful, but it sure was my most memorable moment playing.
