One of my best friends is gay. I still remember the day he came out we thought he was fucking with us because there were absolutely NO signs of it at all, there still aren’t any signs. The difference is, you have an actual genuine long-standing friendship with that person and the friendship wasn't affected when he made you aware of his sexuality. Randomly making friends with a gay person for personal gain sounds like usery. It's understandable if you're related to the gay person or if you've been friends since forever, but if you just became friends with a gay guy last week and he's approaching women for you, to many women that sounds very sus.

At first I was wary of him and avoided talking to him because I thought he might start to like me but 2 months went by without any indication of him fancying me whatsoever so I told myself I was being paranoid and I started being friendly to him at times and treating him how I'd treat any other guy. It seems to have backfired though as i've noticed a difference in him. The way i've caught him looking at me at times .. I'm 100% sure he was checking me out and finding me attractive. a couple of times he's acted flirtatious towards me too. he's now befriend a girl I like and i'm actually worried he might try and c0ckblock my attempts with her or try and poison her against me out of jealousy. This whole situation has royally backfired and I have felt mighty uncomfortable at times around him but haven't said or done anything to show this through fear of being branded a h0mophobe

It all makes sense now…
