Why You Should Cut The Top First ✂️ High Taper Crop Haircut Tutorial
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Most barbers go straight in with their clippers and start the fading process. The downside of this is that sometimes we can get too much into the hair we need for the finished style. As weird as it may feel, cutting the top first can be of great help for maintaining the length you need. Watch this video and see if it's something you can implement!

Your block graduation tutorials literally changed the way I cut hair. For years a blended high with clipper over comb, but this forced me to maintain the right amount of length and weight in the ridge. You're a natural born teacher!

That’s the main difference! Glad it’s helped!
I got super lucky. My barber college instructor was all about cutting the top first. You're absolutely right, it makes blending faster and seamless. 👍

Hey bro I love your videos!! I definitely get the most out of your videos.. Ima relatively new barber. I graduated barber school and passed my state boards in Sept.. Unfortunately the barber school i went to was trash and didn’t teach us hardly anything.. if it wasn’t for a mentor barber I was lucky enough to meet and u guys on youtube i prolly would have got frustrated and gave up.. Do u offer any further education courses, or do u know if any online??I really want to improve on my shear cutting and styling techniques. My idea courses would be something I could. follow along with a manikin.. anyway man, thanks for your time and the content u put out!!!

your comb showing the p ridge on the side of the head was super helpful. Can you do the back again showing where the O bone is too? I know you can feel for it, but is there a way to see it with the comb? you sort of did it in the video but really fast. Thanks!

Same way with the comb just slide it up and down the back of the head and it will help you find the occipital and the parietal ridge

great vid man, this helped me alot with shears but one thing that did confuse me was i was doing a hair cut and i approached it with block graduation. but the client asked me to remove a decent amount off the middle ontop and i didnt know what to do since i already had the line set in and connected the sides to the ridge line. what do you do in a situation like that? do you approach it differently?
@Seancutshair
Жыл бұрын
You would still cut a straight line across the top and just connect to a shorter guide from the side instead of a small section down the middle. You’d still leave your weight in the ridge that you need
@Motionblendz

Dope cut as always. I have seen 99% of them now 😂 Off topic but I picked up the babyliss lopro influencers and I think I miss my rebels that I sold. Do you like them more than you did your boosted or do you miss those too like I do?
@Seancutshair

I liked the boosted but I wouldn’t say better or that I miss it. I like the weight of the lo pro better
cutting the top is faster and if they have product in don't wash it jus bash the product out with thinners in 30 seconds

What would you do if your client gets a #3 to a #4 high fade and has a receding hairline. This clients hair sticks straight out on the sides so I take the fade higher but he also has thin hair and recession like your guy in the video. How would I maintain length on the top and still have the high fade blend? Thank you!
