@@normski6712 yes, it's legal. You can mod it though to make it faster, but with the small wheels I think it's fast enough, it's more like an electric scooter than a bike 😁

This review was so good. I've ordered one. I had two bikes in mind. The Dyu D3+ and This Hitway BK3 bike. This review sold me big time on the HITWAY. Because my journey to work has some hills. And I dont want to be killing myself before I even start work. And I love the bike computer. Its very elaborate. And attractive to view. Thanks for an outstanding review.

@@CloughReviews Got my Hitway 4 days ago. Absolutely superb. It glides up hills with very little effort. On some slopes it's even able to hold a good cruise speed over 12mph. On one commute to work and back a 19 mile round trip. I barely peddalled at all. And when I got back. I still had about 25% power left. Best bike I've ever owned. More like a scooter. Thanks once again for throwing light on this marvellous ebike. With your wonderful in depth review.

Hi, not sure if this works on this bike or if uv already tried it but u can unlock the speed limit by holding the breaks whilst pushing throttle to full and then turning it on. Let me know

Awww, thanks for that. I'm 6' bang on, not quite as towering as you. I've just checked for you on the bike, there is still plenty of height adjustment on it for you. In fact, it's almost like a magicians trick, the seat just keeps rising. You'll be fine 👍

Really helpful review. I've just seen what I assume to be the "mini" bike coming out of the lift in the Tower Block where I live and saw the name "HITWAY" on the frame and thought to check it out and came across this. Been thinking for some time about getting one and now I'm sold. I'd have to charge it in my living room though and I'd still, despite your very helpful walk through be paranoid about setting it up! 😱😉

Great review thanks, bought the BK5 on the strength of this a few days ago! Can I ask, it didn’t come with a charger, on the QR code in the manual it opens to the Amazon shop and I can see a charger for the BK2 for £50 and £40 for the BK3, do you know if they’re compatible with my bike - they look like they have the pin socket? How to replace the Hitway BK 3 bicycle battery ? what type of battery can someone say the type of battery, the serial number?

Hi thanks for the reply I just bought one but unfortunately had a very bad fall coming down a steep hill couldn't bring the bike to slow down and come to a nice stop it just kept jumping when braking and threw me over the handlebars any advice or is this just due to the fact it has small tyres and isn't suitable for coming down steep hills thanks

Hi Tom, I struggled to get used to the brakes at the beginning to be honest, very sharp, I had to really rely on the rear brake more and that seemed to cure it.

Starting the video on an uphill start was a smart move ;-)

I'm convinced. I'm getting one.

I've got over 25k with no problem, but I suffer from distance worry, so tend to charge it before it's needed.

Press the plus button and keep your finger on it 👍🏻

The throttle switch bypasses the paddle sensor but the speed limit is what you have chosen. 1,2,3,4 or 5

After seeing your review we bought this bike on Amazon, after 3 months or so and only 30 miles, the charger when plugged into the bike stays green and does not charge the bike. Any thoughts?

Get back in touch with amazon through the returns and refunds dept. Sounds like the charger is faulty. You could buy a generic one, but you shouldn't have to.

Great Video, thank you for such a detailed review. A quick question, does this bike have a pedal only mode? If so does the computer/power have to work to pedal? (Ie if the battery died what would happen) and for instance if it struggled on an incline, does it pedal enough to climb steep hill? As it doesn't have gears.. Thankyou

I've increased the speed to about 18, but other than that, left well alone. Tend to keep it below that though due to the wheel size. No issues with it overall 👍🏻

Hello there mate that was a Good review, Nice one. Can I pick your brain a bit & I apologise if you've already answered my questions somewhere in the comments. I've just bought a whirlwind c4 which is assembled in the uk so thought that woukd be best incase of any problems....But as exciting as it was to start with I know I've purchased the wrong bike specification wise, it's very similar but has No throttle ( yours has yes?) Do you mind telling me where you bought it and how much please as I think I want to return mine as yours has alot more spec on it. Did I see it has manual gears & are there shimmano & it came with the cradle on the back ,....if you could answer I'd be very grateful. Yep, still working great. Yes, got a throttle but no gears as such. The 'gears' are more about the acceleration than anything else

Did you adjust the speed limiter? It seems like your bike is going 14mph (this is what is advertised) but my BK3 only max at 9mph.

Hi, yes this would be perfect for you. I'm about 12 stone and it is fine. The assisted peddling in a breeze and when you use all electric, it's like being on an electric scooter.

Yep, a really good bike. The smaller wheels don't make it an ideal bike, but for around town, and the fact that it's foldable, it ticks so many boxes 👍🏻

I prefer my Crompton easy folding

Yep, no problem with that. The only point of water ingress is the charging socket, but this is sealed with a rubber plug when not charging. 👍🏻😁

Not suffered any issues with this as yet, accelerator is fine. My wife has been out on it with one of the kids these last few weeks (she is an electric bike convert now!!!) If anything, the only problem is that if you are not careful, this is a very powerful bike

This one looks like the cheapest I looked at that might actually work. Seen it go for around $630. The cheapest bike I looked at was the Kataxon for a little over $350. however, I think it's a bit to cheap from my needs as it's not good for climbing hills & probably can't carry my groceries home after work. I was eyeing the Vituva but it's very pricey at over $1,300. I'm certain it's a great bike but I dunno if I should be parting with that kind of $ so I was trying to look at cheaper models. I looked at the Etrike Dalphin. It priced at between $800-$900. Seems like a decent bike but I herd if the back wheel needs to be replaced or patched I'd might have trouble getting it serviced so I dunno. Regardless, I'm making myself sleep on it before buying anything.

5 days later & I now have one of these bikes. Gave it a test drive & I already love it. Thank you for your review.

Take the throttle off or keep it off road. That will make it legal if it's 250 watts and pedal only actuated. Otherwise this could be a very expensive video as it's classed as a moped and you need a CBT test, insurance and an MOT - and it won't get an MOT - never designed for an MOT or registered as an MOT vehicle.

hitway BK6 are really bad . 6 months old and dead as a mouse . site we had it from won't even respond back to us . :(

Not legal in the UK, because of the throttle switch, if the police would of seen him it would have been confiscated. And he would have been fined and received endorsements on his driving licence, anything with a throttle is classed as a motorcycle under the Road traffic Act
