thank you so much for all these videos - it’s been really tough and nerve wracking trying to commit to a college after counting on being able to tour them this spring. tulane was not up near the top of my list while looking at schools either, but a few hours ago i registered for classes and i could not be more excited. it’s gonna be a great four years (roll wave)

how is tulane so far?

I think it would be helpful if you made a video about what type of student should NOT go to Tulane. I feel like people always talk about the right “fit” for colleges, so I think that’d be informative :) great video though!!

I don’t know which college I will choose. I am in between Tulane and another right now. Is there anything that you would recommend comparing between the two that most people wouldn’t think of and helped with your decision. Also, I don’t know if you will read this or not, but I have been watching a lot of your youtube videos and they are really helping me. Keep at it!

Hey, Maria! When comparing the two colleges, I think the most important question to ask yourself is "where will you be the happiest?" The undergraduate years go by fast, and you want to enjoy them. If you can visualize yourself exploring New Orleans, challenging your comfort zone, and enjoying Mardi Gras, then maybe Tulane is the right choice for you. Another important factor to consider is how much scholarship Tulane and the other school are offering as well as whether or not you'd like to pursue graduate school. I would say the last thing to consider is location. There are a lot of great schools out there, but often times they are in the middle of nowhere - I've got to say that New Orleans is pretty great. Good luck with your college decision-making process!

Thanks for asking! I will try covering this topic a lot in my upcoming videos. So TAP-TP is a pretty rigorous medical program that requires a 5 on AP Biology as well as other AP credits as you are graduating in five semesters. Summer school is not required, but it is highly suggested. I will try mentioning interview tips in one of the next videos.

this video is so helpful! I just got in as a sophomore transfer transfer student and was wondering if you think tulane is a good place for transfers/if they support transfers well

ngl, it's tought on transfer students at Tulane - but that's the case for many other schools. However, I know many transfer students who have made Tulane their home and have been super happy and successful! Be sure to really branch out of your comfort zone and it's going to be a great time. I suggest continuing to do things that you are passionate about. Don't worry about building your resume or comparing yourself to others. Continue to work hard and do things that you're passionate about. With that being said, pursue one or two leadership positions in high school and commit several hours into those activities. If they serve your community, even better. Good luck and put in the effort!

hi!!! how would you say the diversity is at tulane? im from nyc area and have never been to the south so i have no idea what to expect!

Tulane is 70% White, 9%Black, 6% Hispanic and 3% Asian, according to collegesimplify. This is pretty surprising considering Tulane is in New Orleans, where it is 60% Black and 34% White. Tulane acknowledges that it is lacking in diversity and working on increasing it!

Do you think Tulane will be open in the fall?

Great question! Like I said, there are many aspects of Tulane that need improvement. I wish Tulane had much more diversity - the incoming classes are increasingly diverse, but it's not where it needs to be. I'll cover more things in some upcoming videos!

Unfortunately, Tulane is a heavily demonstrated interest school. Therefore, most of the accepted students applied ED or EA. Be sure to submit a letter of continued interest and good luck!

@@lighthousesniper124 as someone who was accepted this year EA, attend every seminar they have that strikes your interest! When I started looking at colleges, Tulane had a TON of writing workshops, seminars, example classes, and opportunities for me to engage! By doing so, I feel as though I demonstrated enough interest, and the “why Tulane” essay really helps to show how much you want to go

Love this question. It's unfortunate that Tulane is only 4% Asian... but we have awesome multicultural organizations such as the Asian American Student Union (AASU) and the Tulane University Vietnamese Association (TUVA) where you can embrace your Asian heritage. I will talk about this more in an upcoming video.

@@AlexSuh I was admitted to tulane and am Asian. Tulane is one of my top choices but I'm scared that I'm going to go there and be disconnected, surrounded by preppy shallow girls who just want to party and have fun.
