One thing I noticed lyrically is that in the beginning of the song he says “I will travel far beyond the path of reason, take me back to Eden” and in the ending breakdown he is screaming “I *have* travelled far beyond the path of reason”, it’s the completion of the journey depicted in the song. It was full of hope in the beginning, and in the end it is full of rage. The idea we can’t go back to the innocence we once had, whether in our own life or the innocence of a relationship with someone. A hauntingly beautiful representation of the human experience. As a side note, I love your analysis of all their songs so far and that you look at the art from multiple perspectives. Peace and love man, I’ll be watching your channel for sure!

I hope you do a deep dive into their discography. There's so much to cover from their earlier EPs to their three full length albums. There's a story that Vessel (singer/song writer) tells throughout all their songs. It's like a movie series, you dont want to watch the third movie before you see the first one. Each album is like a movie, with every song telling a chapter of the story about toxic relationships. This song, Take Me Back to Eden, is the title track to their third album which ends a trilogy. If you want the full experience if Sleep Token, at LEAST start with their first album Sundowning. After listening to all of their songs, it's hard to listen to other music without bias😅. They've ruined me for other bands 😅. Seriously tho, jump down the rabbit hole 🕳️. You'll never regret it! They don't have a bad son AT ALL!!! Definitely check out some of thier older stuff too, Hypnosis, Alkaline, Dark Signs are just the tip of the iceberg to check out. Their entire music catalog is absolutely amazing

I've watched alot of reactions to this tune and I gotta say yours is one of my favorite. Most reactors try to figure out what the exact story behind the lyrics are but don't say what the lyrics mean to them. Being a drummer II is the highlight for me but I can't deny how crazy the singer, Vessel, is. And to have a completely anonymous band these days is incredible. Keep up the good work dude 🤘🤙

So this band is completely anonymous, they go by Vessels 1-4. The singer writes and records every part of the music except drums. The guitarist and bassist are touring members for live shows

Sadly Vessel doesn't do much rapping..... Yet. I expect he may go more into that aspect in upcoming projects. Ascensionism would be a great next step. One thing that Sleep Token does every time is send you an emotional gut punch. Their lyrics are deep and intense. There is so much lore it's crazy. I don't believe in their "god" but it adds complexity to the possible meanings of their lyrics. Good luck! I highly suggest a full dive whether recorded or not. I've benifited much from my own experience of sleep token.

Welcome into the rabbit hole of Sleep Token! Every song is so well put together and the lyrics just paint such a vivid and interesting story. I saw them live a couple months ago and they were exceptional. My favorite song of theirs is Euclid, it’s the last song on this most recent album and it’s just beautiful. Worship 🫶🏼

Take Me Back To Eden was my actual introduction to Sleep Token. However, what caught my attention was The Summoning. After I heard that one and found out it was the same band that did Take Me Back To Eden, I was hooked. Since then I havent stopped listening to their entire discography. From their first EP One all the way to their cover of Outkast's Hey Ya! - I'm sure it's in your catalog, but I didn't see it uploaded yet, that said I would love to see your reaction to The Summoning.

Ok so I started from the beginning and now I’m here. Their music is indeed a deep rabbit hole. The Hey Ya! Cover is so good and gives you a sense of how the song really is.

I found sleep token about a year ago and was kinda meh… I listened to a few more songs (I was expecting and hoping for metalcore or death metal with almost no clean vocals so I was underimpressed at first) I was a fool, the more I heard the more I fell in love with Sleep Token, they have quickly become one of my favorite bands, and seeing people’s reactions to the musical and lyrical journeys that Sleep Token takes you on is mind boggling. My current favorite is probably Ascensionism, the apparition or maybe granite or Aqua Regia. I can’t even just pick one, this is how amazing this band is.

Sleep Token are the best band I have ever come across and the recent album is definitely my AOTY! You should go down the rabbit hole now. They’re genre bending and use elements of everything from rock, metal, RnB, trap, hip hop, gospel, and more. Even if you don’t like one song don’t write them off as every song is different and as you can see from this one they switch up completely through the songs, also don’t be thrown off by some of them being 7-8 minutes long either as it goes by far too quickly. You should start at the beginning and work your way through as they tell a story and have call backs to a lot of them. The band are anonymous, I and others know who they are but won’t reveal out of respect to the band and fans but the singer goes by the moniker Vessel, drummer, who is a beast is II, bassist III and guitarist IV. From London UK. As far as their discography goes they brought out two EPs called One and Two, then 2 singles called Jaws and The Way That You Were, then the three albums Sundowning, The Place Will Become Your Tomb, then TMBTE (Take Me Back To Eden). They’ve done five covers that I’m aware of. One being Hey Ya by OutKast, I Wanna Dance With Somebody by Whitney Houston, Is It Really You? By Loathe and When The Party’s Over by Billie Eilish, Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen. His Vocal range I believe is B ♭2 to F#5 and he has a wonderful chest voice, head voice and scream. I have never hyper fixated on a band like I have with these! Loved the react and Will subscribe and hopefully see many more. 🖤 The trilogy = Seduction. Destruction. Liberation.

Don't worry, on the discord the vampire connotations are commonly referenced since the vocalist and writes about teeth and blood a lot, I've also read someone suggest they might be a shark, there really is no bad interpretation, just fun to have!

No dude, the first verse is an epic setup. He sees her through the fog but no one told her where to go. So shes like a lost soul. They dive through crystal waters. Like when your in a new relationship it seems perfect. But no one told him not to breathe. So now hes drowning in it. The weightlessness recedes, meaning the relationship got real heavy. Hes sunk in it. He wants to go back to eden, right? He wants to go back to before it all went wrong. In the end though he knows it can never be that again.
