I received a $2 bill as a tip from a family that came to eat at a restaurant I use to work at. Ever since then I have kept it in my wallet 🙂

I've got one of those. I live in Australia now and it sits in a draw of my Sydney home with other novelty nick nacks.

What’s funny though is how using it can sometimes result in you getting in trouble because of how uncommon it is, stores will sometimes think it’s a fake bill and will deny service or call the police because of “counterfeit money”

Here in Brazil, R$ 1 bills have been retired in favour of R$ 2 bills and R$ 1 coins some 15 years ago. This was because of the cost of production. Though it is cheaper to produce a bill than a coin, the coin lasts way longer, so for a lower value, the coin worked better. The average lifespan of a bill by that time was between 1 and 3 years, and while the currency has changed many times in the last 40 years, my parents still have some coins as old as me (34 YO).

I‘m from Germany and have one in my possession. Got it in DC as change when I bought a metro ticket. Now I feel super lucky 😅

My great grandfather used to only tip with 2 dollar bills. When he passed away, all of 2 dollar bills were given to his children. So, when I went to my grandmother’s house I found she had $1500 worth of 2 dollar bills. Lucky for me, I found a star note that I got to keep.

Like in Malaysia we used to have RM2 but it becomes rarer and rarer that it feels they not exists anymore. The last RM2 that I used is when I buy a food from the canteen and that's like 15 years ago.

$2 bills are honestly fascinating and I remember first getting mint condition ones in elementary school 😂

My grandma always made it a tradition to include $2 bills in any birthday or Christmas presents she gave out. It was a little thing that just made her style unique. She did pass away over a year ago, but we made sure to keep the tradition alive by burying her with a stack of $2 bills that the family gave together.

Every time this one military customer came into my store, he'd only pay in 2 dollar bills, and another one only in dollar coins. Apparently, if you are in the military, you get to decide exactly how you are paid and in what denomination.

My uncle gave me a book with sheets of $2 bills when I was a kid. Never touched the money in there. Unfortunately it got destroyed during a bad flood we had here in Colorado about a decade ago so I no longer have it

Just spent my last 4 on lottery tickets!

When I worked as a cashier, I used to see them a fair bit. The novelty wears off, but you still keep them in a special part of your drawer to hand off to the kid who is practicing their shopping skills. Same goes for half dollars. I'd hand them off sometimes to adults if my drawer was getting low, and it always made me feel a little bad about keeping them to the side for the kiddies. Everybody loves a $2 bill.

A friend of mine in elementary school gave me one, I had no idea why. Most likely a sign of gratitude or being a friend of him. Thank you David. 🙏

On lunar new year my church always gives out 2 dollar bills per person, it’s really cool. After a few years I’ve got quite the stack of them.

Once in goodwill there was this dude who was wearing clothing in only one color and my brother said he saw his paying with only 2s. He drove a hybrid jaguar.

These bills are only rare in circulation. You can literally go to any bank and ask them to convert your bills into 2's, and they'll do it no questions asked.

The math ain't mathing. I should be seeing 13 $1 bills for every $2 bill but I almost never see a $2 bill.

With inflation these days, those $2 bills will come in handy at the *TWO Dollar General,* and at the *TWO Dollar Tree* as we all know you can't buy anything at those stores for just *$1* anymore.

Bro my grandma had so many $2 bills and 50 cent pieces that she gives to me (if I would have saved it all i would have have close to $200 bucks in my pocket 😅BUT NO I DONT SAVE IT 🤣)

I have one in my cars owners manual folder for good luck, it has some type of stamp on it from some company, and I got it from my dad’s collection so its even cooler.

The funny thing is that I have about 5 of these in my money stash rn. My aunt would always give them to me in my birthday cards! 😂
