Why You Need to Try a High-Tech Japanese Toilet

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Once you use a toilet with a heated seat that washes and dries your tushy automatically, you can never go back. In Japan, about 80% of Japanese homes have electronic toilets, and it’s easy to see why.
Lifehacker staff writer Nick Douglas ventured to Tokyo to learn what it took for Japan to accept high-tech toilets into their homes-and what it’ll take for Americans to do the same.

When I visited the UK for the first time, it felt like heaven. It was my first time visiting a developed country, as I come from a poor, underdeveloped country. And my god do you feel sad you were born in a third-world country once you visit the UK. The UK has a beautiful blend of new, modern architecture and historic buildings, while the people have a more meaningful culture than Americans. Not to mention, the infrastructure was great, excellent public transportation, great control of pollution, and just beautiful streets. I’ll admit, it did shock me to see no bidets or bidet sprays as they’re common in the country I come from, which doesn’t even come close to being as wealthy as the UK.

And I come from a country when non automatic/ holdable bidet are common. But they certainly cannot compare with those hightech and super convenient japanese toilet! True, fondest memory. I swear there would be one someday in my own house. I heard it's quite expensive but not impossible. Would be worth it. Wow I sound obsessed.

When the British has relationship fallout with the French during Napoleonic war, the Anglo-Saxons begins to shun the practice of wet-washing their bums after taking a dump because it was deemed "too Frenchie" and with it comes the propaganda of slandering the practice as well. That until very recently, as evidenced by a lot of comments here.

I find the most amazing tech about these Washlets is the deodorizer. The filter actually dampens the foul odors and it dissipates in seconds. The newer models don't begin extraction until after you get up, but you can manually hit the deodorize button while seated and it eliminates all the nasty gases and odors in a snap. This is a must for a house with multiple tenants.

The idea of having bidet is pretty common in my country in SEA region, at least in public toilet inside a mall or shopping center, since we are using water and toilet paper to clean it up. Its not high tech like in Japan but it actually pretty comfortable. For a cheaper one we used handheld bidet. very common for some household here.

I would love if these become the standard. The hotel idea is great and I think a good next step would be to give a bulk buy discount to housing developers in high end housing markets. Once you've tried it and lived with it, it's hard to go without. I have one of the affordable attachments, but it's missing a lot of the features. It'd be nice to have the dryer since now I generally have to use a little toilet paper to dry off. One thing I will say is that I don't think it has any great effect on hemorrhoids. Actually I wonder sometimes if it can exacerbate them. This is gonna sound gross, but having at least a little shit in your rectum kind of helps keep things... Moist? After I really give the bum a clean with the bidet it feels almost TOO clean. Like dry hands after using harsh soap. So there can be too much of a good thing, but it's still way better than using TP

Us Americans have fallen so far behind the rest of the 1st world it's embarrassing. Our education system, public health, roads, public transport, quality of politicians, civil discourse, workers rights, law enforcement, food quality and more have all gone backwards since the 80s. We should be ashamed.

ashamed? We have been taken over by jewish oligarchs who own everything and everyone so allowed fake paper with numbers to temp them rather then create a country that works for its people. 95% of america is owned and lead by jewish bloodlines, and its a FACT. They ruined it, not us.

Many water saving toilets I have seen in North America have a very small exit hole 🕳in and waist doesn't go down the drain . You have to flush 4 or 5 times waisting even more water than a powerful American toilet
