A little about me:
Sean Daniel is a man. A man of simple needs and desires. And the one desire, no, the one NEED, that stands above all is to spread the challenges, joy and intellectual stimulus of music to people of Earth and beyond.
Born on the mean streets of upper middle class suburban Chicago, Sean learned the ways of the world through the dizzying heights of success to the lonesome depths of failure and emerged with the promise of a better tomorrow reflecting in his eyes and fiery passion in his belly.
He plays and teaches guitar on his KZread channel where he regularly releases original music and projects to the adulation of legions of fans, who often compare him to Chris Pratt and one time Ryan Reynolds. He’s currently in the market for a nice leather jacket.

@SeanDaniel I've played guitar for decades (campfires, family time & in a Southern Gospel groups, etc). But several years ago, a car wreck caused genuine nerve damage & hand weakness. I am trying D/E TUNING to build hand strength (Barre chords) & compensate for lower dexterity. ALSO...people receiving radiation & chemo develop serious nerve pain. D/E tuning lets pickers try lap/slide guitar playing. Thought you may find it relevant...(or even marketable.)

This is one of the main tunings used in Brazilian country guitars (viola caipira), except for the lower D since the viola caipira has only five courses of metal strings. That means if you tune your guitar to open D, you just need to learn the typical strumming patterns of Brazilian country music (música caipira) and you're ready to go. You can directly read tablatures for viola caipira if you just ignore the lower string exists.

Tronical Tuners. This enables me to quickly switch from Standard tuning, to open d, open g, drop d and any tuning. The preprogrammed ones that come with it are 'close' but not close enough. It has the ability for you to create your own custom tuning, Use a tuner, get it dialed in then save it. With the push of a button, it's back to that saved tuning. I only have three guitars, and I've installed Tronical on all of them.

@@Jfre2 If you're consistent and consider something like Ferrari (or even just an SUV with the frontal area of a truck) to be ridiculous and over-priced (and most cars cost more then $4000, so this can be stretched even more), then yes, maybe, given the absurdity of luxuries. However, if it's just this luxury that gets the "ridiculous" tag, I'd have to ask why? I mean if I were to buy a stupidly big house, people might even talk all sorts of nonsense about what an "investment" it is (only where the rules are constructed to make such a house into an "investment"). It sounds better than all Sean's other guitars; and he's got some really lovely guitars, so that's no small thing. For someone for whom beautiful sound is of more value than beautiful metallic paint and beautifully road-dominating shape it would be worth paying to have that sound. (And for someone who doesn't/ doesn't hear it - and it's OK if it's an illusion - but it's not - ... er ... OK losing it now) ... It can be worth that kind of money. Not to someone like me, but if a guitarist who plays a lot had the cash to spare, it'd be worth it. (If I had that amount disposable - with maybe the choice between putting the difference into more car vs more guitar, I reckon I'd go with the guitar. I could just say a real truck is one you can spray clean with a garden hose.) It's all dependent on values, once affordability is in place.

@@Jfre2 New strings definitely make a big difference, so I suppose the direct comparison only counts when that aspect is evened out. I also get the feeling that certainly with collectible guitars, people pass the point where they're no longer really paying for the sound. Still, right now that Taylor sounds great to me. :-)

@@Jfre2 I disagree that it doesn’t sound and play better than a cheaper guitar. Just not 2-3 grand better. And I would argue that a pro player would be well advised not to bring such a nice guitar to a gig...especially if it’s just going through a pickup/Pa anyway

Yeah i definitely agree with you on a lot of this. Dollar for dollar I think the 214 or 314 win. I’ll definitely say the 816 is ‘better’ than a 314, but it’s definitely not TWICE as good in my opinion. A lot of people might think it’s worth the price for something 30% ‘better’. But I also believe that in a lot of ways, once you get over a certain threshold of quality, ‘better’ is more of just what your taste is.

@@seandaniel23 Your answer shows that you aren't a puppet of those sent items to you by sponsors. You generally get pretty good items sent to you and all would fit into if one so incline to own anyway. You presentations are soft "sell" and fit with here it is these are the things I see as working for me or someone else if they feel the match is there. This makes your product presentation fun and leaves it at that. This is why your sponsors like you. Most sponsors don't want a pusher they want a user or at least a fair presenter. If you look at other people presenting items like ear buds they do the pro and cons pretty fairly. Most manufactures that say in business that are honest know the pros and cons of their product going out the production door. Being real and survival oriented that in today's market that if their product has problems it will be all over the internet pretty quickly, before the internet those lower quality products had a lead time of multiple months before the door was slammed on them, not any longer. Most products have pros and cons few don't and yet all those products are brought by people who find the value in one or another to fit their needs category. Needs are personal and differ widely between people so no accounting for them except by the person feels their need. Its impossible to make everyone happy except when you give a great lesson as example today. Thanks!
