Hey Bunny Huge ups for AP guide, great stuff I've played AP flex for most of the set and want to insert my 2p a bit (lol @me schooling a challenger, but I've seen this stuff be true in challenger streams many times so anyway) 1) AP flex is INSANELY flex. BigBrain moment for me was realizing that NOT running Talliyah and/or Soraka is correct surprisingly often, i.e. if you get certain ADMIN traits or Emblems like Civilian/Prankster/Hacker. 2) There is a number of other Hero Augs that work well with AP flex besides the ones you've listed, but I want to especially underline Camille support augment, the one that makes your last unit deal inordinate damage. It lets your final Talliyah ult to wipe the board. Or your last LB/Soraka to hypercarry 1v8. Camille herself is useful enough if you hacker her to disarm enemy Samira/Aphelios/Urgot. 3) Going for LB3 / Sona3 is viable even without their augments. They are never contested, and there is always someone who rolls for Recons or Threats in the lobby, helping you. Chasing Sona 3 without PowerGrid is probably still wrong, but you can hit her naturally while rolling for other things. Worthwhile. 4) Another BigBrain moment for me was realizing how bad is "meta" Alistair+Annie frontline. Alistair is zero impact synergy bot, and none of his synergies are particularly good for AP flex. I found that, while you _can_ still play Annie for a time, and Ali too, most of the time you want to rotate them out of your final build for something waaay better like Zac / Ekko / Sej / Fiddle or even Mechs. Hell, I've had success with Vi+Blitz frontline up to late stage 5... 5) Token tanking _rocks_. Pranksters, Zaclings and Zzro mess up MF targeting massively. Phony frontline is godlike.

@@manel8373 Keep it balanced. Ekko + 2 random good frontliners (Zac, Fiddle, Sejuani, Rammus, Cho, Sett+mechs) should be enough as long as you have 2-3 tank items on one of them. One of the harder things about AP Flex is understanding what backline units to cut (since there are too many good choices). My rule of thumb is to choose between ADMIN and Star Guardian units. If ADMIN is good, I cut all SG backline units. If ADMIN is bad, I cut all ADMIN backline units. Just remember to keep Zoe + Ekko in your team, Pranksters are too good. Remember that Zoe can act as pseudo-frontline too. She's especially useful against Hackers and Talon.

My favorite Mage to run is easily Leblanc with "Mana on Ally Death" A.D.M.I.N. and her carry augment. Gunblade/Jeweled Gauntlet/QSS

Decided to run AP flex after this and i had the most disgusting game. My taliah would instacast non-stop and heal from gunblade to full and continue to instacast without even having a blue buff or Shojin, i had the gain 20 mana on kill augment with axiom arc (30 mana on kill) and then heal 350 on kill (admin 4). On top of this got the syndra augment (empowered reserves) for increased AP per person on bench. Most insane tft game of my life for the uncontested win.

and this was already an insane start to the game aswell, i had a le blanc with blue buff and jewelled gauntlet at 2-1.

U got the broken yummi augment on 2 1 its basically garanteed top 4 why didnt u take it?

This set just doesnt work for me i think. I never hit any of the op comps, and when im going for mediorcre ones i either still get contested, or die before getting anywhere -.- I ve tried this a couple times and it feels like i am sort of getting familiar with it, but i still get bodied hard every game qwq

In game 3 you put double shojin on raka. since she doesnt have much mana to begin with, isnt she really likely to overshoot her mana pool on her third auto and waste a bunch of potential mana? Wouldnt it be better to put one shojin on the sona with blue?

Theoretically yes. But I like having 3 items on my carry so it’s a ‘tempo’ play

I did terrible with al of AP games before and just went for ox force or mf even with a bad spot for it and contesting someone else. Now came back to AP comps again after watching this and played 3 games. Got a 1st, 2nd and a 3rd with it. Forcing the comps. Not unhappy about that :) In diamond btw.

2.6 average ranking in the last 10 games. This is in diamond III / II. Thanks it's a lot more fun playing these comps than having to coin flip on contested comps!

What if you have a real weak board in stage 3? It feels really bad not rolling down at 3-2. I try to ride it out until 4-1 then roll but by then I don’t really stabilize or it just isn’t enough :(

in those cases you have full lose streak most likely which means u can level 7 3-5 with maybe 40hp

I think 5 costs are too strong... The fact that you can hit 8/9 and just put in a bunch of 5 costs and suddenly your shit team stabilizes into a top 5? They are too strong without traits. Also, in general I think threats are too strong. They fit in too well with everything

Following this guide in low diamond has been a disaster, it relies on the comp being open and that's pretty much never the case.
