George Lopez present the very harsch-emotionally detached upbringing of his full time job migrant grandmother. But Mexican grandmothers and mothers are hardly like that. Only some when they get upset back in day. He never talks about the loving, nurishing of all female relatives, because maybe he did not experience that or is not good for his act. Quite sad.

In Fall '86 I was in a Psych class. The class contained students from age 18-40ish and was very ethnically diverse. First day of class the prof laid out a question and asked for a show-of-hands: she said, "How many in here were never spanked?" Not one hand went up. So, yes, perhaps a good old-fashioned butt-whipping is more common in the Mexican and the black cultures, but it still apparently plays a role no matter your heritage, today as well as back then.

You saw him!
"Courtney, you get in the car!" idk why but that part just kills me!
“I can already feel it in my hand” 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I agree with you memodeh, I'm Mexican, living in Ireland right now, and I don't find it offensive at all. I think he's pretty funny. That "Happy birthday, you saw him?!!" part is awesome. Regards.
I can already feel it in my hand I can feel it I'm a come off the ground I'm a hit you so hard!2🤣
fuck, does he ever blinks? and he has that look.....he can see into your soul.
Lopez NAILED IT. Move your hand! Move your hand! My sister and I use to do that to stop the spanking! Hahaha Same with the Roman meal and weenies. My grandma always called hot dog weenies.
ONE of the BEST ; REAL, BEAUTIFUL, FUNNY , TELLS... I EVER HEARD.
i missed the beatings my father used to give me..i deserved each one..and still do..nothing says "i love you" more than a punch in the face.. I MISS YOU 'PA!! :'( R.I.P
wow, i can't remember all the times i had to put my hand in the way of my mom's hand. dam, the memories D:

Same here, I think it's the fact that we can relate so much... dude's hilarious!
Speak to my Irish catholic mother/father. Lopez's mother has nothing on them. 🤣 Love you George.
This sounds weird, but I'm so glad my parents beat me when I was stepping out of line. As a kid I hated them with a passion for doing that, but as an adult I thank them for not letting me become one of those spoiled bratty kids that we see all around us these days.

@@thedancingflowercat6254 I come up short… point taken. And thank you.
AHAHAH this is exactly like my mom but she would say do we need to go to the washroom :|.. but she's white lol
I was just bonding with someone who grew up in an Asian house hold, and how similar our experiences were with me having grown up in a Mexican house hold. It was nice 😂
Oh this is soooooo true!! lmao "Don't run, don't run!! Move your hand!" Oooohhhh the memories!
that's exactly what it is. I mean he is animated and has a level of funny but the biggest laughs come from those who can relate.
The “move your hand” and also a Black family thing. I remember my mama beating my ass and saying that because me and brother used to always use our hands to cover up. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Birthday party? No que birthday party! YOU SAW 'EM? YOU SAW 'EM? HAPPY BIRTHDAY! YOU SAW 'EM?? and for some reason, the "courtney, you get in the car!" cracks me up everyyy time.
Man...used to get the belt , broom, whatever was closest to my dad when he was is in his chair. My least favorite was the damn cold shower...made me the man I am today
Seeing the vhs tracking and display in the beginning brought back memories
yes we all loved our parents and so did they love US
I can watch georgy all day ahh he makes me think of the good old days lol
hahahahaa. this video is so funny. i watch it over and over and over.
Thanks for posting . Very funny .
U so right, and out there they love our food, our music and us women. Oh Oh and they also love to vacation on our land!!!
Yes those WERE tears of joy!! From Me while hearing it anyway.
im mexican, and i can tell you this is 100% true, my mom did it a lot of times
"u got a lotta things already" that sounded just like my mom lol
same thing with me.. my parents, mostly my mom, hit me as a way of discipline, and i turned out just fine... i dont talk back to them and im very respectful.. a lot of people tell my mom that she has really good children.. so hitting isnt bad, but just like everything, it has its limits... and now im actually greatful that they hit me and stuff... good way of discipline, but like i said, it has its limits and boundaries too..
lol! the mouse and refrigerator joke, he used that in his show recently :D
that is so true though..."When we get home"....I heard that a thousand times
lol, im egyptian, my parents use beat me all the time ^.- with belts, sticks, broom, etc. she even threw a lit cigarette at me. still love eachother.
It's not just Mexicans that find this funny, I'm Nicaraguan and this stuff is freekin hilarious....whenever i would get whippings when i was little my mom would say all that especially, "MOVE YOUR HAND! MOVE YOUR HAND!" LMAO
the changing room is too real lmfao
wow, that was funny.Hits close to home!! LOL!!
haha. he is the best stand up ever.
You are the funniest Hispanic comedian
"No, Chuck E Cheese.. You wanna see a mouse? Pull the refrigerator out." hahahahhaha
Haha yea love my parents though. I needed the butt whoopings, I was feisty. 😂 So true on the tough love and hard living ❤ I laugh and joke with my mom and dad all day as an adult now. Thanking them for all the stress they went through. It was survival mode lol 😂 but so much fun to be a kid in the 80s to 90s.
lol this is so true! especially the part where parents hit you when at home when your out in public.. happened to me alot! i love george lopez!
"you stepped on my corn you fucker!" I cried from laughter!
LMFAO he had me rolling but its so true my mom trys to play it off in public but when i get home damn it happens to all hispanics
I was born in 97, can relate a bit to these things
you saw him?! happy birthday! ... Those better be tears of joy, LMAO!!!!
LOL IT WAS CALLED HAPPY HOUR IN THE BATHROOM
I had a friend growing up whose mom would throw bottles of nail polish at him and his brothers when they were acting up.
