I know dragonfly, Xiangling is easily the most broken and unbalanced character that have ever existed in Genshin’s life span. I myself even start to dislike her gameplay design due to how Hoyoverse hasn’t done anything to counter this broken character. If I were an enemy-designer I would create an enemy that increases either it’s defense or offense every time you buff yourself, or that performs a mid range explosion every time you successfully do an elemental reaction; which is why Xiangling excels at.

I like the idea that every time a new polearm character gets released alongside their signature weapon, they have to pass the "Xiangling Test". Because she can't NOT use any and every polearm in the game to terrifying effect.

I’m glad they gave her for free helped me get to c4 way back when they game came out.

She is polearm archon that can use almost all every recent artifact, also her familiar is a god One of "stfu" icd rules too She's already great char from the start, after 2 years she's just getting better

It’s interesting to see that gilded dreams does pull ahead of Emblem. A big caveat, of course, but each patch really is a Xiangling buff.

Well Emblem was specifically designed for characters who need a lot of er while also doing amazing burst damage, it makes you have great damage without sacrificing rotation consistency. Gilded was designed for a complete damage increase for characters who benefited for more em and atk (xl), but it doesn't give you the consistency you'd get if you used emblem. Emblem is probably still her BiS, but substat quality is still something to consider.

I like how the first gameplay showcase in this video is you casting Xiangling's burst without snapshotting Bennet's Burst. Truly marvelous 🤣

XL was the first character i ever pulled waaaaaaaaay back when i started playing from the free wishes i was given. and she hard carried me back then, she doesn't see much used at the mo but i have no doubt she will eventually be back in my rotation as she is one of my favourite characters in the game (also gouba and his lore is very interesting).

I wish Hoyoverse would let us implement a system that lets us set certain artifacts for certain characters only on certain teams. Maybe for team 1, I want Xiangling to have her standard Emblem set, but for team 2 I want her on Gilded Dreams.

That's good of you, I'm a day 1 player (on and off after few months), during 1.0(venti banner with fischl, xiangling and barbara), among all the 50 pulls, i got 1 xianling, 0 fischl and 7 barbara🌚

Additionally, I think her burst animation looks badass. I mean she lights a fuking polearm on fire and throws that to spin around you! Just as how Yelan is a 5 star Xingqiu, I wonder if we'll have a 5 star Xiangling... Also, if Yelan is a 5 star Xingqiu, and they are like some of the strongest characters in game, how broken will the Hydro archon be? But all this character kits appreciation without end game content is just sadge - hope they change their minds about that copium

I was similarly concerned about Yelan being 5 star Xingqiu but she feels different enough to the point that I really like it. But maybe they won't succeed in doing that with Xiangling, idk - so I just don't want copy-paste characters.

at this point, i think deployable characters are gonna be one of my favourite units to play, in Genshin or other games.. the fact that she can use Bennet, snapshot, long off-field damage and aura, AND FREE is... a gift from Celestia..

Funny thing on my experience with Xiangling is it took time for me to actually build her even tho I have her at C6 and she's just sitting on the bench collecting dust But when I decided to build her, It was very worth it

Its crazy just how good xiangling and xinqiu are, they are THE prime characters for their elements

After trying Raiden national, it's surprisingly super fun, so I can't wait to get Raiden to C2. In addition to getting Yelan for Hu Tao.

You’re actually gonna end up getting Yelan for Xianling and leaving Xingqiu for hu tao because C0 Yelan hydro application can’t keep up with Hu tao unless you’re planning on running h2tao(hu tao, xingqiu and yelan, flex)

Go for it! I also use rational. Sometimes i sub the 4th slot depending on what enemies the team needs to fight. If its swarm of enemies, i put kazuha. If its single boss, yelan or xingqiu.

I am saving for yelan I lost my 50/50 on her banner then I want a new cool character.

I am still grinding the emblem of severed fate domain to perfect my artifacts for Xiangling. I have a set of over 300 ER for Raiden and an 86CR/180CD for Xingqui (Jade Cutter helps). It is one of the most broken sets outside of the VV set.

Mihoyo's apology for leaving her as the only polearm character in the game in the beginning.

I just really love Xiangling, she will always be best girl in my heart. Her colorful design, bubbly personality and adorable former god companion encompass many of the reasons why I love this character! Her popularity in the meta is just a bonus for me. I played Xiangling since 1.0, I can guarantee myself I will still be playing with her by the time K'haenria gets released!

She’s my main DPS and I don’t even have to use her burst to make her that way. Just use Chongyun, Kuki, and Qiqi with her and I do amazing.

It make sense. For Xiangling the differences between Scarlet Sand and Jade Spear is quite large Whereas for Cyno, the 2 weapon aren't that far apart from each other.

Thanks to the banner, I have xiangling at C2. I want one more for that pyronado boost but I wanna try the weapon banner too or save them. Ugh

Catch + Emblem Xiangling can clear all content, and given they have no endgame plans, I don't think it's gonna change my build for her anytime soon. The reasons for her being upgraded all the time are actually quite simple. 1) Pyro application with no ICD 2) Easy use via E, Q, or Q, E. 3) Can scale off ER with emblem, ATK% on all sets, EM for reaction comps, and crit stats. 4) Catch is stupid OP for a 4*.

i got staff of scarlett sands and boy i was not expecting it to be Xiangling strongest weapon (i pulled for it since i didnt want cyno and have guaranteed 5 star character and have c3 keqing)

I just really cannot help but be impressed that International team has been around since 1.6 and is still the best team in 3.1

As long as HYV doesn't release another consistent Pyro aura, Xiangling is gonna be sitting at that throne alone

I tested her with 4--piece Crimson Witch set (EM-EM-Crit) build. With 700-800 EM plus 40% reaction damage bonus, it's comparable with Gilded Dreams set. On top of that, with the Crit stat, she can also apply juicy reverse-vapes. When using her as Burgeon trigger, use either skill or burst ONE AT A TIME to avoid too much Burning reaction. Skill downtime is not too bad at just 4-5 seconds.

When doing ur calcs did u add 4 sub rolls worth of em or attack whichever would do more to the emblem damage calcs cause to reach the same er on gilded isn’t free it takes approximately 4 sub rolls which on another set could go to damage rolls. While rational seems the most beneficial to gilded cause the er required is lowest on that team for national and international the er requirements are quite a bit higher so 60/120 is a lot harder to hit, I’m guessing it’s technically possible but I didn’t do calcs so I don’t know that for sure.

This is so true! I'm running R5 Drag's Bane, 4pc Crimson with EM Circlet (600+ EM total), and I found great success in the abyss. You also don't need much ER (around 130%-150% which can be fixed by running ER sands) in Raiden Nation. My point is, Xiangling, regardless of the build path, is OP! lol

i just started playing halfway through the albedo and nilou banner in 3.1, i tried to get albedo with all i had (new accounts get a lot of primos so i reached pity before the end easily) only to lose the 50/50 to Qiqi with 2 days left on the banner, so that sucks, but in the process i got 9 xianling lol (also 4 barbara, and not a single beidou, which i'm still mad about)

I'm curious about the calcs that you did. In 4:55, did you assume no bennett buffs? It wasn't stated in the assumptions. Also, what EM and attack does the two builds have?

It’s “Moot Point” haha, not “Mute point”. But great video, like always!

Emblem vs GD is just another opportunity cost thing imo. needing less ER requirements from emblem can let you build more damage (crit, atk, em) while using GD needs to satisfy her burst cost in some way. but if the requirements do get satisfied and rotations are optimal, then GD does come out on top.

Yeah, its also that emblem set is coveted by many unit and if you have adc gilded dream while farming for em set, you can use XL emblem on someone else. Especially in raiden national

Problem is also that both Domains are rather good. Shima is good on some chars while farming emblem and while farming gilded u can also get deepwoods. Hard to decide which to pursue first, but yeah, if you also use raiden and xingque, its prob best to start with emblem

I was randomly helping out in coop and came to some not low level AR party (49-51). I came as xiangling and when when we started they keep asking me to bring out my best character. I'm like Xiangling is one of the top I have, she's inly behind Ayaka by just a little. When we entered coop they keep dying and I'm the only one alive. Still they keep asking me to bring out Ayaka/Ayato/Ei. They prolly saw my profile showcase but I hate that they look down on my Xiangling. I left and didn't help them after that.

Would C0 XL be an upgrade to any of my other characters for Abyss? I can only get 32 stars. I have the following lvl 80+, Kaz, C2 Fischl, Kokomi, Keqing, Dtrav, C6 XQ, Bennet, Yoi, ZL, All C0 except Fischl and XQ.

Even the new 4 star polearm from the new event is great on her.

I decided to build xiangling very early on since the other option was Amber and I didn't like it cuz E isn't reliable and slimes can dodge your shots. For some reason, when i build xiangling, it's always weirdly good. Now I have a 60cr with white tassle and 160 cd(tried to get cr but nope) +almost 200% er. (198%)

Question but my xingling only c2 yet and dragon bane I using still good? My catch at Raiden and not yet c6 yet my xingling also.

Before having Dps i use Xiangling fischl overcharge at every fight

Gilded Dreams being better or on par with Emblem is really useful because of how desired Emblem pieces are. It’s hard to build the 5+ emblem 4pc sets that your account wants so if you can run Emblem on Xiangling then you can take the Emblem set you were running on her and give it to someone new like Xingqiu or Raiden.

Probably around 400+. But your 450 are totally fine. Do remember your atk stats should be at least 1600+ for great dmg. All this talk about EM and Crit, ER but ATK is very important as well.

It’s so sad how she’s stuck at c2 for me couldn’t pull anymore constellation and I’m high pity but don’t want nilou so I have to stop😭

Because all the archon so far has support capability, im bet hydro archon will replace childe for best hydro on international, and pyro archon will replace Bennett. Also its guarantee you can do crazy melt shenanigans with cryo archon. Heck, maybe celestia character (if its exists) also crazy good with xiangling

@@monke-mk5 Doubt Archons will replace anyone in the current meta. Hydro archon will most probably be hp buffer + healer + crowd control unit considering we have so many hydro damage dealers already. Pyro archon will definitely be somewhat like Ei - dps support, dealing good damage while also being the only unit to ever buff base attack, which is probably the most valuable stat for majority of units in the game, considering there are only 2 ways to obtain it. Cryo archon will buff crit stats to the point where even Kokomi will be able to crit.

Meanwhile I have her C6 since Ganyu's first banner and I still never got around to building her 💀

xianling is the best pyro support at this game and melt will never be out of meta and also her best build is f2p build

i absolutely hate fishing, but unfortunately r5 'the catch' is absolutely insane on characters like raiden and xiangling, even performing better than many of their 5 star options

Im building a team with xiangling,nahida kokomi and diluc for burgeon/burning team

She definitely has come a long way from the Crescent Pike meta, thats for sure. Still looking for a character to hold that thing after I R5'd it........

It depends on your definition of getting stronger. She got more sidegrade option overall but still not true buff after 2.1 with the Catch being best 4* option, Emblem best general artifact option and raiden for Rational. The closest upgrade is Wave Breaker Fin but that's it. Not even Sukokomon is an upgrade after further testing and in practice (too much dependent on certain enemies and their pattern of action). Yae, Ayato, Yelan, Gilden, Dendro and even Sand didn't made her stronger overall. Raiden is still the better electro for rational and double electro-double pyro is worse than it. Ayato is an option for Vape but Childe is still much better. Yelan is an option for her in place of Xingqiu for national team but the DPS is lower due to XL really benefitting from Xingqiu's 18s duration which extend to rational too. In double hydro post Yelan buff, the Bennett version has been calced to be about on par with Raiden in National at mid investment but worse at higher investment in the CN side at least(no Hitlag kinda skewed this team result in GCsim) but a lot harder to pull off due to needing a specific timing for Bennett e to not collide with Xiangling Pyronado and it's truly a boss team that is unable to do anything against even 2 enemy close to each other but not thighly so. Too bad abyss rarely has 3 boss sequence in a floor. The Hu Tao version is indeed an upgrade in ST (on top of not being constrained in circle impact and freely go after every enemy while also having Hu Tao big CA window that hit more enemy) and even more so after hydro resonance but Xiangling isn't really essential for Hu Tao. While the best option other are just as much competitive as her in this slot which is also only true in mid investment. Besides you need 2 specific 5* for it (Hu Tao and Yelan). I'm surprised by your result with Gilded. From what I've seen it lose to Emblem everywhere outside rational were they were calced to be comparable but both worse than Crimson but the difference between is so close that the set use didn't matter. Dendro have 2 pyro team, Burning and Burgeon, Burning is trash an Burgeon require Childe for her but the last slot lose the anemo slot (Kazuha/Sucrose) for the dendro one which has been calced by Jstern to still be a sidegrade even with Nahida in the team and that's on top of not including the weak production of bloom in ST and the loss of grouping for Childe's team. His range doesn't reach XL Pyronado and so burning will be procced more often in practice. There's a niche case of using her as sole Pyro in a Yelan-Xingqiu team but the result is not only ST but she's stricly worse than Thoma there. With EM build Thoma does as much damage while shielding and building less ER. And in a double hydro slot, she's nowhere near other DPS witthout Bennett. On field DPS like Yoimiya, Diluc, Yanfei, Hu Tao even Bennett are strickly superior offensive option. Scarlet sands from what I've heard from Jstern and Jamberry (XL TC) was that it was pre-TC to be her BiS in every team over Homa and EL but not by much (like 4%, still an upgrade). Unfortunately, after release it has been discovered that, the rotation requires XL to stay on field for 2s before getting any stacks which made the overall result another side grade overall to her 5* option. Depending on your definition of getting stronger, it works but if that definition is getting more option overtime then, Raiden, Yoimiya and Hu Tao are also getting stronger too. If it involves getting higher team dps, the only true one is Hu Tao double hydro but that's more of a Hu Tao buff than a Xiangling one considering she's replaceable in that slot. Unless you wanna call Double Hydro HuTao, a Fischl, Zhongli, Thoma, Sucrose, Kazuha, Bennett and Mona buff too. Imo, she's a bit overhyped in EN community, everything is a XL buff but never ends up being an upgrade for her after testing. Either sidegrade or downgrade. It's a visible sentiment even among discord TC which always ends up being an overhyped statement. She's kinda like Raiden who has multiple team with new char that ends up doing the same DPS as hypercarry but worse fontload. In CN, no one talks about XL buff at all. The team she's the most used are International and Rational as always with the same build. If anything, the one they talk about getting stronger the most is Yoimiya.

I tried this, its really bad to build xiangling for EM if you're sure you cannot kill someone in one rotation...you sit there farming elemental particles just to get her burst back. Practicality wise, emblem set still is MILES better.

Youve ticked all the necessary xiangling needs,but then your crit is kinda if your arent using the catch overall good build mate

Don't ignore ATK stats, as her dmg still originate from ATK, CD and EM are just additional add on. ER stats with Emblem is strong but if your base dmg is low, the extra won't be that high.

She does off field pyro so well that a lot of showcases become Xiangling showcases...

Xiangling will always have a part in the Genshin meta especially as Genshin moves along the regions. The last 3 remaining unreleased regions would focus on Hydro, Pyro and Cryo meta, so her relevance in the meta will just keep on getting stronger and stronger.

@@tatefan4566 I wouldn't completely conclude that Hoyoverse won't add a "harder" content. Just because they wouldn't add another "Spiral Abyss-like" content, it doesn't mean they wouldn't add another source of difficulty in their open world content. Afterall, I also wouldn't call Spiral Abyss a hard content. It is harder than the open world, yes. But it's total difficulty is too child level that even non-Meta teams or even non-synergistic teams can complete it with ease.

@@ryuuraga1619 So you believe they will add more difficult enemies in open world. To point where they are harder then abyss. That could be but from everything they say it seems unlikely. Abyss is easy which is annoying because I feel like there is no point to get stronger.

Our polearm archon keeps getting stronger

Xiangling - the gift that just keeps on giving. Pretty much any polearm works for her, right? Even the new event one. Just a matter of the right sub stats then. I was pulling for Beidou constellations (she's at C1 just now, want her C2) but Hoyoverse decides to give me Xiangling instead. Twice. In a row. Can complain though, make a strong unit even stronger, right? 😄

Beidou is fun. But more Xianglings won’t hurt unless you have c6 ofc

I really hope that dehya is a 5 star Xiangling so that we can use 2 Xianglings in abyss or to give a new playstyle to old Xiangling players. She is the only pyro off-field DPS in the game since beta! Would love to see some variety and maybe introduce a new playstyle to a off-field pyro DPS role. (PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HOYOVERSE DONT MAKE HER A BURNING DPS 😭😭😭)

After almost more than a year of playing I hate that my Xiangling is still at C0. Everytime she appears on a banner I somehow end up not pulling due to risk of losing my 5 star guarantee, like right now I cant even pull her cuz im at 45 pity and a guaranteed Nahida.

That remind me back in last year of high school, there's someone dare to say Physics Xiangling is best build while a frickin White Tassels, half baked Pyro build of my Xiangling do far more than what he can.
