    Man , I couldn’t agree more. You expressed some real issues that happen with these toys that cost A lot of $$$. I swear that I think they should just give out the RTR’s for free knowing that we are gonna dump as much as we already spent on the rc into it to make it what it should be. Happy new years bro

    I gave up on my Sledge. The TRX4, The XMAXX, and the MAXX are the only Traxxas I own now. I have the new Kraton EXB It's a beast! I used to race short course club races with Traxxas Slash and UDR because all you were allowed to use was Traxxas. But we all protested and were sick of the high prices and low value. Now I use Team Associated, Losi, and Tekno. You get more bang for your buck. Most of the guys I race with are making the switch as well. Plus all Traxxas does now is add a new body or some aluminum bling which is worse than the plastic parts and call it a new release increasing the price by a lot. Just look at the new XMAXX ultimate release. It's a joke. Same with the TRX4. New body or a lift kit. Nothing actually new but they keep raising the prices. No thanks. Moving away from them until they make some actual new products for a reasonable price. Of course, I'm the sucker that bought all the TRX4 releases. I'm just a sucker for RCs period. I love the new RC car smell, lol.

    I feel ya. Crawlers are different. New body is always fun, even if the truck underneath is the same. They did the clipless body but other than that I feel like traxxas has not like made anything new since they released the trx4.

    Agree in full. I bought into the hype on the sledge and it was the worst I've owned. I got rid of it in fact. Drove terribly, all types of problems. Awful! I just bought the new Bigrock 6s as well as a 6s Mojave and they are incredible. I also own a Talion exb which has been the best vechile I have ever owned. Since I have the Talion exb for now, I decided on the Bigrock to get some scale looks. Only good Traxxas vechiles are the Maxx which has been a fantastic truck for me and is one of my favorites. Been very durable and reliable. The Trx4 is another good one. Do not like the 3s vxl lineup at all. They are cogging, surging machines that lack any level of sophistication as does the Sledge and Xrt which was another bad purchase thatvI got rid of. Not as bad as the Sledge but not even close to the new 8s Kraton exb. Not even close!

    Hello, I just saw in your message that you bought the Mojave 6s. Why did you choose the 6s instead of the 4s? Apparently, the 4s is just as fast and is said to be much easier to control. The shock absorbers are also supposed to be better. I'm considering whether to buy the 6s or the new 4s now.

  • @mikescallon4288

    @mikescallon4288

    @monzza9316 Basically I periodically take these on long walks through the trails and the 4s one is impossible to drive in this manner. Basically its a vechile that only wants to be driven fast. It can't be driven like a real car basically because all it does at slow speeds is surge and stop, surge, and stop. That type of driving drives me crazy. It is a less sophisticated system basically, but if all you're interested in doing is full throttle all the time, then definitely save the money and buy the 4s version. Or the Traxxass Ranger Raptor for that matter, because to me, they both drove identically. I just like vechiles that drive a bit more realistically plus, most of my vechiles are either 6s or 8s and once you get used to them, anything less feels like a toy. The only exception being the Traxxass Maxx which drives awesome and definitely feels like a 6s vechile despite being 4s.

    I’ve owned Traxxas trucks. I still have an XMaxx and my son has a Maxx. Recently bought the new K8 EXB RTR and it’s my new favorite. And you are right the value is so much better with the Arrma trucks. I have probably $2000 into my XMaxx after getting the M2C goodies and big motor and ESC and it still breaks basically every outing. The first time I had my XMaxx out, I took it out of the box, slapped batteries in it and broke a control arm. Now I’m trying to sell it to get a K6 EXB RTR or a Big Rock 6s

    Sledge is Traxxas first go at a traditional 1/8 buggy/truggy platform layout, so they are years behind in development. Even HPIs "new" Vorza Truggy Flux, likely a decade old design just making it to market now is a more refined truggy. Even though the Vorza also has a cradle style motor mount, I don't recall it being problematic in the original buggy. I thought it was cool that we finally get a blue aluminum chassis under an electric Traxxas RC. Reminds me of old Revo nitro to electric conversions from back in the day. I wonder if they will continue to develop and refine it or if it will fade away and if they will stick with their tried and true plastic fantastic designs.

    First, go at a 1/8 scale but they had so many years to get it right and they didn't. That's no excuse. HPI is HPI that's normal for them as they don't have the R&D department that Traxxas does nor do they call themselves the best. The Sledge is a joke. They had 20 years to get it right. They tried to go after the Kratons market and they choked big time.

    Great video. I'm not trying to bash anyone on their opinion about how they view the rc hobby,but my view being new to the hobby.....I approach it just like I approach my classic car addiction. If I like it I buy it. I understand that I'll be spending money on aftermarket parts at some point or doing performance upgrades. It's part of the hobby weather it's a real car or a rc car. I can go to a Ford dealership and buy a new tricked out Mustang but if I beat on it it's gonna break shit! That's what happens or while working on it I'm probably gonna say what the hell were the engineers thinking when they designed this? I'ts part of the journey and the fun! Part of the problem with the rc hobby is everyone on KZread or FB complaining about what needs to be instead of about what fun it was. I like how you were telling us about what you changed to make your car more dependable and what you figured out worked and didn't work. I came from a nitro back ground, my first brushless vehicle was the Arrma Outcast V2 , I also bought the V3 and went mad upgrading it ? I so realised it wasn't worth doing many of upgrades as it increased it's weight and coursed more issues while my first Outcast was like a tank with only running Voltage Hobbies chassis brace set .Arrma's best and toughest vehicle out the box was the Arrma Senton 6s which they discontinued? You cant make money if nothimg breaks lol, when Arrma were trying to break into the market a Arrma Outcast v2 along with the Senton 6s only cost £365 was in the UK England at the time, with all the after market mods you buy your better of buying quality race kit like a Tekno , the original ET48 is killer with very little upgrades to make it a true basher, POSS racing bumpers and skid plates. My friend's Kraton is a nightmare because it's always happening, and even the attempted fix on the new EXB still has the problem. You can solve the Sledge motor mount issues with some mounting spacers off eBay. You don't need m2c motor mount. I love this truck and didn’t break anything yet , all the so called upgrades s the reason why it breaks ,I’m running Proline badlands belted and jumping 40 to 60 feet on 6s with no problem, I watch a lot of KZread videos and not a big fan with the crazy upgrades that ruins a good engineering.

    Consumers are starting to get smarter, there is no value in the sledge or xmaxx. Brand loyalists dont care though, they will just reinvent the RC out of the box by swapping everything out and then proceed to say "it's a beast" yeah after you spent hundreds of dollars nearly replacing all the key components.🤣🤣

    For sure. Thats why arrma has been solid. They at least have put together much better offering out of the box for a good price.

    😂😂 At least he is telling ya right in his channel name its PROPAGANDA. Had my Sledge for a year and havent broken anything yet and it does do 15 to 20ft jumps. Get off Arrmas nuts and enjoy them all I love my Kraton 6s also but it is breaking arms non-stop but still love the truck and will enjoy and love them both. Keep being a fanboy son

    There Ultimate X-Maxx . Over priced crap aluminum . That no 1 will buy . Rebuilt all my Traxxas cars . Crap electronics. Esc’s all suck . Half the aluminum on the Ultimate X-Maxx you don’t need or want for hard bashing. Good platform’s and cars . But not out of the box 📦 unless you rebuild them .
