    My only problem with the bone claws is how they're often (in both movies and comics) made to look so rough and bumpy. I'm sure they do this to make them more visually distinctive from the adamantium claws. I'm not saying they should be perfectly edged like a blade, but still think they should be more naturally smooth and pointy like actual animal claws or talons.

    @@cis26yea exactly. In hindsight, bonding his whole skeleton with adamantium was pretty pointless and only useful for certain situations which wasn't worth the cost of getting metal poisoned or having his healing hindered. I'd say only leave his claws, skull and neck/spine as adamantium and the rest keep it his normal bone. Don't bond the limbs because adamantium or not, it's not really fatal if he gets shot or stabbed there. Don't bond ribs either cuz they're a hit or miss as they have so many gaps in them, no guarantee any damage will hit the adamantium and be protected and bounce off. The skull is good because its flat and anything hitting it will consistently bounce of. And the claws keep the adamantium for obvious reasons.

    Actually I think he lived closer to 50 years with the adamantium claws, maybe even 50/50 like 120/80 years if we're going by movie can anyway if Logan lived to be about 200 years old that means that he definitely had to have been just a little bit over a hundred at the events of the first X-Men movie, I'm saying that as a casual viewer of the films and not a hardcore fan but to me anyway if I'm looking at the first X-Men film to the point of Logan where he dies and I have read he died at about 200 so if that's the case I would imagine it would take a considerable amount of time for the GMO products to effectively wipe out the mutant race I would imagine a few generations worth of time so a minimum 50 years

    It seems like a mistake that Wolverine's natural claws were bone , rather than keratin , which is what animal claws are made of. Keratin has a certain amount of flexibility , tensile strength and natural self - maintenance that raw bone doesn't have. Your cat's own retractable set of claws regularly shed their outer layers , which helps keeps them functional and sharp. I can only chalk up Wolverine's bone claws as a product of his own peculiar mutation , which didn't necessarily model itself on animal physiology but is unique to himself.

    I’d take bone over adamantium. They don’t weigh you down, more natural, don’t interfere with healing powers and you don’t have to go through a traumatic, mind weakening experience in order to get them. I’d actually argue that Wolverine is more adaptable and in many ways more powerful without the adamantium. And I agree, in Origins had he chosen to go into the wilderness for a while and toughen up, reconnect with his animal self and feral instincts- he probably could have defeated Sabretooth. That said, if given the choice I’d actually choose Sabretooth’s powers over Wolverine’s. There’s less to go wrong and he’s not so reliant on his claws as Wolverine is. Even without them, he can still kill and his claws would grow back quicker if damaged.

    One downside to the bone claws which is much less present with adamantium claws is that they can be broken off. If his bone claws are out, they can be broken like any other bone and the pain will still be present. However, unlike other bones, they will fall to the floor and his combat capabilities will become more restricted until they heal back. Mid-fight, it is unlikely that they will heal back in time to be useful and it is more likely that they will return perhaps hours later or possibly the next day. Without his claws (which you could argue that he has become reliant upon despite his over a century of combat experience), he is slightly more useful than any other unpowered trained fighter, due to his healing factor. With the adamantium claws, you may have a weakness to magnetism controllers, but you can't break them; at least not as easily.

    Wolverine never had "Bone Claws" to begin with, he had his mutant healing factor, advanced senses such as hearing better than a dog, ...a sense of smell like a bloodhound (he tracked his prey via scent) and had great strength (could lift well over 800 pounds) - he has a sense of balance that would make Ninja cry, moved absolutely silently (Uber-Stealth) and he could NOT be poisoned or even get drunk, because he was immune to everything. (Later on - new artists and story-tellers changed it so he could get drunk - but he recovered very quickly. None of which makes sense when you consider how fast his healing factor operates. It was bad writing - and again - NOT canon) All of that was more than enough before he ever got an Adamantium skeleton and the Bionic-housing in his forearms containing the Razor-Sharp Blades that popped out at Mach-1, making the characteristic "SNIKT" sound every-time they appeared when he entered into his Blood-Rage. It was only the films that changed all of this and made him able to move the blades slowly - or singularly. ...I didn't look-up any of what I just typed, it's all memory from reading every single X-MEN that came out from the early 1980's until early 1990's. So If I have anything wrong - let me know. Cheers brothers!

With the Adamantium, he‘s boosted to roughly 200 lbs/1 ton. Comicbook Sabretooth can lift 5 tons, has a better healing factor and can even track better than Wolverine due to better senses of smell and hearing. X-Men Origins: Wolverine nerfed Sabretooth

His bone claws would have a natural path and groove to follow, but perhaps the adamantium would be caustic and poisonous that constantly aggravates the natural ducts and grooves his claws woild normally have, causing him pain every time they come out. But him constantly being a victim of a natural part of his powers seems silly to me now.

    You left a huge thing out.. without the metal on his skeleton Wolverine becomes more feral and because the adamantium stopped his mutation. With just bone claws over time he becomes more animalistic like sabretooth

    The film wolverine isn't affected by the adamantium poisoning and doesn't weaken his healing factor. his healing factor in the film is the highest his healing has ever been. The only reason he isn't immortal in the films and died was specifically stated by the director, the mutant gene therapy they put in the foods is the direct cause that weakened his healing factor. He was just crashing fast with the adamantium in him after his healing factor was weakened.

    I think before the metal claws he prob had almost a superhuman type speed and agility wich is scary with his unlimited stamina he get's through his constant healing factor i think with the metal attached to his skeleton he must feel like he's in constant pain and permanently exausted through carrying his all that metal weight 24/7

  • @TheRavenShadowsWolf
    @TheRavenShadowsWolfАй бұрын

    The adamantium ones were the FIRST ones anyone knew Wolverine with - it was a RETCON that he had bone claws to start (since in weapon X it was simply giving Logan knives between the knuckles - that he calls claws because of his animalistic mindset * and because his creator called them claws: since at one point he might have started off as an actual mutated Wolverine - but that's I believe been debunked) so people like the adamantium claws because there's a fuck ton more comics - and comic lore - with the Adamantium claws rather than the bone variant. [Not saying it's not cool mind you... it's just not how he was originally conceived] ** Also: Unbreakable vs. Literal Bone... guess which one wins? o.O Do you think he'd be jumping out of planes in games without a parachute if he JUST had his regular skeleton? (Other than the possibly moot deal he once had with a Death aspect that made him factually "immortal") Frankly given the nature of his power and what he's been through; I'd say he never needed that deal. If by process of adaptation in "training" his power = Since his power is always active as a beta level mutant: The more he gets hurt and survives, the stronger his power would over time get... he's already NEVER going to be "old man" Logan. Or at least he shouldn't be. If the writers didn't constantly want to kill him off, send him to hell or do elseworlds crap. {If they can make Iceman Gay and an Omega - ICEMAN for fuck sakes... They can make Logan immortal without caveats, by virtue of the fact mutant powers are shown to get demonstrably stronger when constantly tested}

    What if he just had adamantium claws instead of an entire adamantium skeleton? He’d get all the advantages of having indestructible extremely sharp claws but without the drawbacks of being really heavy and suffering from adamantium poisoning and a slower healing factor

    Bone claws were a stupid gimmick to give him weapons after Magneto stripped the adamantium from his bones in the mid 90s, that should have been retconned. How do relatively straight, lumpy, pencil thick bones, become recurved, perfectly smooth, and razor blade thin? If there is no mechanical housing bonded to the bones in his forearm why doesn’t he tear a claw out of his flesh every time he hits something like Captain America’s shield, or Hulk’s skin?

    Logan stands no chance VS Sabretooth with or without adamantium. He’s physically stronger, faster, better healing factor, better sense of smell, etc. On top of that he’s a sadist without morals. He’s Wolverine 2.0, a version Logan could potentially tap into if he completely gave into his animalistic nature

    A NEW VARIANT OF (WOLVERINE) I IMAGINE EXISTS IN A DIFFERENT REALM, WHO HAS HARD BONE CLAWS: Now the variant of LOGAN aka Wolverine, he exists in a realm that has more magic in it, and he is the son of unique parents. I imagine Logan’s birth mother is a sorceress, while his biological father is a mutant, and so he is the combination of both. To add I imagine Logan’s bone claws as tough, and strong as Stone I also imagine Logan’s natural skeleton, is as dense as iron metal, but at the same time light weight. In addition I imagine Logan is capable of doing a little bit of magic, in order to make his bone claws stronger, and uses them to enhance his natural abilities. Plus to add cast magic spells, to protect anyone he trusts, who is with him, from any unknown threats.
