In Jeopardy!'s 38 seasons, only five contestants have ever accumulated more than $1,000,000 in career winnings. Let's take a look at each of their stories, what made their runs so special, and why what they achieved is almost impossible.

Apologies for the inconvenience, looks like the video has now been fully restored from the strike issue. Original comments can still be viewed by hitting "sort by" and selecting "newest first."

Jeopardy became one of my favorite shows in the last few years. This is a big reason why. (Also, Jeopardy GOAT has some the the best music on any game show. The final jeopardy music was love at first hear)

The GOAT music is absolutely epic. As strange as it sounds, I almost hope they don't bring it back until there's another event of that magnitude. It's simply fantastic.

I'm so excited for this year's TOC! I think it's going to be a real nail-biter seeing all these long-streak players battling it out for the title! A lot is on the line, especially for contestants like Amodio and Roach! 👀

Probably not for a while, I’ve never been too familiar with it so I’d have to do quite a bit of research first. Plus I already have a few videos queued up on my list coming up in the next few months.

Mattea Roach almost became a millionaire (technically a millionaire in Canadian dollars) at Jeopardy! Masters but they lost to James Holzhauer.

I don't think Jeopardy has ever caught on outside the US AFAIK. The BBC has similar kinds of shows though like pointless and the chase and whatever, but no direct adaptations or ripoffs with the same rules. I have trouble getting into the "direct answer rapid fire" type of show, without the multiple choice on Millionaire I feel slow and dumb. (I'm aware this doesn't really engage with the topic of the video....WWTBAM is a massive global thing and Jeopardy isn't for some reason, is all I'm talking about)

Winning Lines wasn’t on my list because I’ve never seen much of the show. I’d definitely have to do some more research but I’ll consider it. At the moment, I think Minute to Win It is going to be the next one.

I’ll be honest, I preferred Jeopardy when the answers and questions, rather than the big names and big paydays were what drove the program. It’s been too glitzy and hyped since they took the hint from the Who Wants show. I enjoyed turning in to see three people super knowledgeable, but still plucked from the everyday relatable world - and for the energy of testing my own knowledge and recall. Jeopardy was calming escapism for thinking people. Today, for me, it lacks that quality.
