Why-Why Analysis? - Root Cause Analysis Tool
Why-Why Analysis or which is also known as 5 Whys, is a very popular technique to identify the root cause of a problem. This technique is also used in the Analyze phase of the Six Sigma DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) methodology. By repeatedly asking the question “Why” (five is a good rule of thumb), we can peel away the layers of symptoms that can lead to the root cause of a problem.
The technique is explained with examples and practical application to the industry.
