    I actually really like your explanation for the color scheme. I was thkinking "yes okay, everything white, kinda boring", but now that I know it's for "decoration" purposes, and that I see your background, it's actually nice.

    @@silv448 I loved black too, but combination of white and black is top notch. Combination of white for unimbortant things and black for important, functional things. I am now making hifi speakers where the boxes will be white and only cables and speaker diaphragm will be black. In my opinion, it's a compromise between open white and beautiful but all-consuming black. Come to think of it, it would be amazing to see an entire house designed like that, and many things are made in that color combination as well.

    ive always preferred white tools, decor, and accessories as i feel like they make a room brighter and i can easily add warmth by throwing in red, oranges, and yellows in other areas of the room. i thought i was a bit crazy for wanting to paint them until i came across your videos. now i know it can be done (though i plan to hide as many black accents as i can as it ruins the whole "brighter" vibe im going for") so thanks for that!

    Protip: To help reduce wear, chipping and flaking on your finished stuff, use a moly-resin gun paint like Cerakote or Dutacoat. For stuff that you can't cure with heat, use Duracoat and let it air cure; for stuff that can withstand oven temperatures (metal parts, high-temperature plastics, etc), use Cerakote (it's much more hardy). Both of these finishes, when applied properly, won't want to chip, crack or flake like normal spray finished do, though they will eventually yield very smooth wear patterns in spots that wear (though it takes a long while to wear through either finish with just friction wearing).

  • @bigmike-

    @bigmike-

    @@feiyinwang6169 once the parts are fully dried/cured, then it should be fine - but because of the polymer additives in the paint, you absolutely SHOULD NOT spray parts around anybody who's pregnant - so spray your parts outdoors away from wherever pregnant people are at, etc. But once the parts are fully dried and cured (could take anywhere from a week to several weeks, depending on humidity, average temperature, air pressure, etc), the parts aren't any worse for a pregnant person to handle than any other kind of painted part.

    @@feiyinwang6169 not really; all paint has solvents in it that aren't awesome for pregnant women to be around (though, again, when dry and cured, it shouldn't be an issue as the solvents evaporate out). You might just have to wait until they stop being pregnant - but that's okay, good things come to those who wait ;) On a side note, good on you for asking the right questions and making sure to do right by the people around you - you're gonna do great as a dad! :)

    The reason your paint strips is because you're using 1K spray-paints, they don't stand up to wear and tear very well. What you should do is finish with clearcoat 2K paint. Its extremely durable but you need to spray with respirator protection. 1k and 2k paints are compatible, you can still prime and coat with your usual paints.
