I may or may not have read the wheel of time around 15 times at this point... Cant say any book series is as good as wheel of time. The more you read it the more you appreciate it even the bad parts become enjoyable memories.

I’ve tried to read. Through it twice in my life. Last time I made it to book 9. I don’t even remember why I couldn’t finish it. I just stopped caring about everything that was happening

It’s kinda like the book version of One Piece when it comes to criticisms, people will have them but they’ll still consider it their favorite manga regardless because it’s just that good

Wheel of Time’s world building is closer to Tolkien’s than anything else is to WoT’s. And by closer I mean in scope and quality.

SPOILERS: My main criticism of the Wheel of Time is that the Seanchan still exist at the end. But that actually speaks to Jordan’s quality as an author. He was able to create such a loathsome HATED faction that you’re wishing to just be obliterated entirely while at the same realizing that the story exists in an actual world. Not all of the bad guys get fully defeated and there are such things as loose ends. That said…FUCK THE SEANCHAN

Im sorry to be the hater here but malazan has better world building and realm of the elderlings better chosen one dear god jordan’s prose are atrocious. Also the blatant sexism….my fav character got raped and his female friends laughed at him and told him thats what he gets for being a playboy….dear god… if you have a friend that has higher than average sexual appetites and u laugh at her for getting assaulted u are a terrible person, i think jordan’s ideas are dated and offensive at times and few characters outside of mat, thom, nynaeve, rand, and siuan have any real depth andddd lan is the most blatant aragorn rip off i have ever seen dear god…also the aiel are straight up the fremen from dune to a tee. I hate not liking books i really do and i wanted to love this so much but its tied with sarah j maas for the worst series i have ever completed, im happy others love it even tho i didnt but ranking it as the best is psychotic to me. Best i can say is that books 1,2,5,12,13,14 are generally good books but not great and the ending was fairly satisfying but that doesnt make up for the awful prose and offensive themes.
