My hope is that the Heresy episode will be us going to Torobatl to reclaim it from the Hive and potentially kill Xivu Arath, but the chances of that happening are probably pretty slim…

It could be possible. Maybe not a full destination of Torobatl but activities on the location. The Hive have probably wrecked the planet and tunneled through everything but this would be an interesting way to wind down the story lines of the existing factions.

The Witness will be a majestic, majestic gun I'm sure 🙏🙏🙏

Destiny is not going to create more environments or maps because that costs money.

Our destiny is beyond the Sol system is true, because we go beyond our realm of existence into the traveler. The Cabal and Eliksni will be guardian’s because Mithrax is already chosen and so was Ghual. I think the Traveler at the end of Final Shape will bestow its powers to both Eliksni and Cabal races. We as Guardians will achieve our final shape and achieve our “destiny” by creating BALANCE in the universe. The theme of balance in the universe is prevalent all throughout the game.

I don’t think we will unless we get a D3. A whole new game would make the most sense for this type of narrative as we’d leave the old locations behind. Good if we LOST.

I think "the Traveler is not the only one of its kind" isn't Savathun saying there is more than one Traveler, she's saying that there is something "of a kind" with the Traveler- the Veil is the same "kind of thing", just a different thing, and more than satisfying what I'd consider is required for that statement to be true. Edit: Seems like some of the dialogue from the pale heart collectables confirms this, the traveler memory you find in the divide refers to the Pyramid Species/Witness' original bringing of the Veil to the Traveler as "reuiniting with a sibling"

Already speculating beyond episodes. Let's hope The Final Shape does well

When episodes happen, we could have two Destiny 2’s. One game is our system, and the other game is ALL the episode content, which is side stories, and won’t conflict with the current game from a coding or size standpoint.

My dream expansion, Destiny 2 war god. After the defeat of the Witness, Caital receives a distress call from Torabatal, Xivu has returned, she now bows to a new god, her motivations unknown and she is leading yet another invasion into the Cabal's fallen homeworld, searching for something in its depths. Imagine a doom inspired expansion, heavy metal music blasts as you take on hundreds of hive and end the osmium dynasty once and for all. It makes perfect sense, using an old villain to introduce whatever the next villain is, ending the hive storyline once and for all, and going from an expansion where your guardian faces the greatest threat it has ever faced, to an expansion where your guardian is the most powerful it has ever been, ripping and tearing through hive along with Caital. Maybe Caital dies and becomes a guardian.

Yeah this seems like the next logical step for the franchise. Would be an awesome callback to the D1 Prologue with the Speaker saying our destiny was to walk in the light of other stars. And it would be refreshing to not have a universe ending threat to deal with for a while. Just some interesting stories with new factions, some friendly, some not. Let me do a kick flip with my new skimmer off a desert sand dune. Would be a good time to shake things up with new gameplay mechanics. With the Traveler not being the only one of its kind, I thought maybe they were dropping a hint about that Veil itself being out there.

I always thought that if the leak is true that TFS is the last dlc for a while n it’s the end of a saga I can see them cooking up a new game engine for 1st big dlc release of the new saga n with into the light wave defense mode they said we are defending the last city with defenses so they can defend themselves without our help which is very important if we are leaving the system.

I do really hope that destiny will get a bigger system overhaul in the expansion after TFS but I do kinda feel like it would be too early to cut off support for last gen devices. As much as I'd like that to be case and for the game to get an uplift, current generation console adoption, to me at least, seems very low, so I don't think they would be willing to cut off support for the last get yet. Could be wrong though, haven't paid too much attention to the console market for a while.

Just a theory: What if we get our 6th subclass/ 3rd darkness subclass because of a different traveler who isn't on the light side. Jut think about it! Savvy: " traveler is not one of its kind..."

Great synopsis. Your videos over the past week have single-handedly revived my interest in the franchise post-Final Shape. With that said, saying they need to drop support for older gens is a bit generous. They need to have a Destiny 3 in the works, and they need it three years ago.

This makes me a lot more excited and hopeful for where things’ll go after the final shape and it makes sense :D

I would like to see Bungie build expansions around each faction in either the past or future. Starting with Dead Orbit please.

The thought of leaving the solor system in d2 is a very cool idea i could make not only the story much better but also add new mechanics an make it kinda of like Warframe wear for example i could see that "saving" d2 anyways another great video keep it up

I hope we leave the solar system because that’ll certainly make me interested in playing the game more as on OG Destiny veteran lol

Well, who would have thought New Monarchy loyalist will admit the main claim made by Dark Orbit? Speaking from a different angle but still sounding valid, ha ha. And who says an entire humanity will leave Sol? Thanks to all these retcons I guess that one Ghost Shell story from D1 about entire fleet of ships escaping must have been ditched out as well, maybe even was in some way a wicked part of one of Exo Stranger's timelines. Then it'd mean parts of Guardians will stay to reclaim Earth slowly but peacefully (Bungie, come on, make a New Delhi and Old Chicago as time-limited seasonal events locations, that's the least I can beg for after all you went through by your management.) and out part will go after the Traveler. After so much story development since Beyond Light and its seasons, however, I no longer consider myself to be the "Guardian of Traveler". It's just too fishy for me, including Gardener/Winnover and the Flower Game's nature. If TFS will do what's needed, again as Minimum Viable Product, and "explain" to Mithrax/Eido and Caiatl - maybe by dreams like Saint's ones or the way the Speakers received it? - why rebuilding their home worlds after all what happened to humankind is still its main purpose and target... that will suffice I guess. And if it means meeting remnants of civilizations slayed by the Hive as written in Books of Sorrow in way more distant future... well, who am I to refuse? Going there in some small cabin ship similar to Drifter's would sound like hell of a fun!
