Why we REALLY Keep coming back to THAILAND!!

Today, I catch up with my good mate Marc @passportmarc and we sit down to talk about what it is that we really love about thailand, why we choose to be expats here, what is so special about Bangkok and ways it could improve for a digital nomad living out here. We discuss the nightlife and temptations, visa concerns and the creature comforts we miss from back home.

I live in Toronto not in the burbs and while it is expensive if you are paying $80 for two beers and a poutine you are getting ripped off $40 to $50 maybe but that would be craft beer not a Singha equivalent and some pretty solid poutine. That all said once we sell our house here Bangkok is most likely going to become our second home. Adam your videos keep us engaged and longing for everything Thai. Shocked we have never seen you out and about seeing as many of the places you capture tend to be in our wheelhouse. Although after last visit we became pretty enchanted with the Silom area. While we have been so fortunate to travel to many countries Europe and Asia nothing beats Thailand and BKK.

Air quality and driving is related to being in the city (Bangkok) In the real country the air quality is better (except during crop burning season). Driving is much more freedom in Thailand (out of the cities) Aussie and Kiwi will known about the "speedo stress" and constantly looking for speed cameras etc... Thailand has only fixed cameras and the fine is 500 Baht no matter the speed. That's $22 AUD.

I came here to save money. I now spend 75% less than I would need to in California just to exist. I also just love the vibe and peaceful people. You won’t find any meth zombies here or massive depressing homeless encampments. I can walk down any street and feel safe here, which is the opposite of San Francisco. I sadly have to return home for a wedding soon. Really not looking forward to it 😅

Canada Healthcare being free in canada is a lie too. You have to pay yearly for a health card in canada depending on the province and ita still over 100 a year usually and it's 150+ if you don't have a card which I don't because I don't go to doctors I do all my own stitches etc. Thailand is way cheaper

15 minutes was a long wait time in Australian hospitals in the late 80s. So there's an aspect of it getting worse in the West, always by the mass immigration design.

Another "20 or 30 something" moving to Thailand... let's see how this works out in 10 years. There is a reason why there is a Visa for 50 year olds and above... it just doesn't work out in the long run for young grass hoppers. Driving a real business, paying taxes, pension system... adult things. Good luck though!
