I love how open and honest you are in this, not trying to hide it all and pretend it isn't there. This shows REAL people with genuine lives, not one that's put on for the internet. This is no hate to anyone who doesn't share everything online, I don't expect anyone to, but this is a huge sign of trust that you feel comfortable to share it with us.

Guys, I am 4 1/2 years into this parenting gig and my house still gets like this. Often. Working and parenting at the same time is f*cking hard. Let alone all the other stuff that has to be done - like housework. You’re both amazing and love how honest and open you are. Without people showing this, all people see is unrealistic/staged houses that set them up to feel like failures. Much love from Melbourne, Australia 😊❤

Honestly so refreshing to see this. I think this is so helpful for new parents especially cause I feel like new parents got a lot of guilt if things are not pristine and in order, be it from themselves or seeing the "picture perfect" scene all the time online/in media. You guys are literally making it feel quite relatable and create a really accepting space, for oneself and others, to share the experience of this crazy wonderful time in life.

Guys please don't be ashamed of your "mess". It's perfectly understandable, you have a baby. Things can be put on the back burner when you are adjusting to caring for a wee one, and even the best of us can get overwhelmed. Thank you for your honesty, it's one of the reasons I love you guys. Take care of you and Koazy, that's the most important thing, the house will be there when you have time to deal with it.

It is soooo normal! My partner and I struggled with this. We got the mess out of the way by giving everything a place. Something that helped us hugely was excepting the dump places. The places where stuff gets dumped to later be cleaned up. We got trays out and now we dump our stuff in those places but on the tray. So it's more deliberate. Once the tray is full or messy it needs sorting out. And it's so much easier! It was a life saver for us

You two are definitely not alone. Every parent goes through this. I just appreciate that you don't perpetuate the BS about "everything is perfect, nothing to see here" mentality that is so prevalent on social media today. Real life is not perfect, it's messy and frustrating sometimes, but allowing yourselves to be that and accept that it's ok that everything is not perfect is very healthy. Great and difficult times ebb and flow, but knowing that is half the battle. You've got this! Koazy is getting soooo big already. He's adorable!

Hugs from Canada 🇨🇦 🤗 ❤️

Liana just like you I have said this all my life a home feels like a home when it's a little messy. That shows someone actually lives there. You can't keep thing spotless clean all the time with the baby. Ur already shooting, editing , "SHOWERING" with hair wash. You have no idea how much of good time management skills you have. Anyway the only reasons I come here is to see you guys show us the reality and still have goofy fun. It's so much relatable. You are doing great - just have fun with it. The more fun and go with the flow, the more enjoyable ride it will be for koazy too.

I loooove your Christmas room. When I was a baby I was addicted to the Christmas lights. I would just stare at the tree and all the decorations, so my parents would put the tree ( we have a plastic one for that reason) up really early and leave it for way to long. That experience had a huge impact on me and is probably the reason why Christmas is still my favorite holiday ( even my birthday can’t compete). By the way I’m still fascinated by the Christmas lights and tree.

I kinda do restarts every Saturday. Catching up on chores, cleaning and tidying up. doing it every Saturday has helped me keep the mess to a couple of ours of work for that day. 30 minutes here 20 there and everything is much more manageable. Also gives me that extra push to do some creative project like putting up new shelves where I need them, pointing a door or a window. Planing on housework (choosing places where tiles need to bi installed fixing stuff). Or plant and yard work. I produced a bunch of tomatoes, basil, spinach, lettuce and potatoes due to the good time management.

You do get that feeling of wow when did this happen and why!! I usually spend 1 night at the end of a week doing a quick refresh to make myself feel better, You do realise leaving a few things here and there does pile up and become out of control and it does happen quickly 🤷🏻‍♀️ A bit of untidiness is understandable but I do know that feeling of not being yourself anymore and wanting to do something about it! Tips for tidying, from someome with a messy husband. 1) get rid of things you don't use, because they take up space, make you feel stressed and overwhelmed, and gqthers dust (you can always feel how it's easier to breathe when there are less things) 2) get enough storage, and it needs to be max 70% full (i cluding the refrigirator), because if there isn't enough space to take things out and put them back in easily, it's going to get messy really fast 3) if a room takes more than 5 minutes to tidy, something has to be evaluated (see 1 and 2) 4) place storage where things naturally tend to end up, as it takes extra effort to carey them other places and tidying is about creating a system that requires minimal effort 5) sometimes people get mesay when there's not enough to look at in the room otherwise, so investing in some curtains, rugs, hanging up some pictures, etc. can also help

You guys are doing awesome - I’m impressed that you managed a big reset and tidy up with a new baby! My husband and I got totally overwhelmed by mess while I’ve been in the last year of my PhD and the only reason we got a reset is because my mum helped me. Literally wouldn’t have managed it without her. That you managed together with a baby is amazing ❤ good job 👏🏻

Thank you for being so real and honest. I also have a first-born son, he's 11 weeks old. Our house is looking pretty similar. My partner works overtime on 3rd shift and I'm pretty much on baby duty 24/7 including demanded contact naps. Our family insists on coming over every Sunday after Mass and ALWAYS criticises how our place needs to be cleaner for the baby despite our obsessive deep cleans every week.

hey liana, since you’re struggling keeping the clothes in your dresser clean/organized i might suggest you look into the „SKUBB“ organizing boxes also from IKEA. comes in a pack of 6, i have them in all my big drawers = game changer. ☺️

I feel this but in the opposite direction. I have an intense need to have everything tidy at all times and if it's not, I really struggle to focus and feel overwhelmed. It's very difficult to maintain a tidy home with 3 kids though so I'm really learning to let go and enjoy life a bit more. I've been tidying and cleaning after my youngest goes to bed and that helps set me up for the next day. It's tough but you've got this!

You guys are doing great! My sisters house was a wreck until her kiddo was like a year and a half..and even now it catches up to her. I currently haven’t been able to have kids yet, but I know when I get sick (which is often) I get super behind on the house and myself aswell. Some tips I found useful: Food prep what I can when I can. If I’m having chicken in four different meals in the week cook it all at once and portion it, you can always add the extra seasoning when you put it together and it cuts down so much time. Same with rice, pizza dough etc. Get an app that helps you. I know it’s silly. But having those reminders to reroute me back onto ADLs (activities for daily living aka shower, brushing teeth, eating) are vitally important. My favorite is called Finch. It makes it feel like a game and is basically a tamagotchi. Also taking 3-5 min to write a to do list physically has helped me a ton aswell. You guys got this!

Liana, I’m going through the same thing as of getting overwhelmed looking at all I need to do in my home. I’m better than I was a couple of years ago… when my daddy passed away, I changed.. I’ve always had the very very clean house and now… not so much.. I inherited so much and February will be 10 years that my daddy passed but I find it hard to go through my back room.. it is massive!!!! I’ll start on it here or there and see some of his things and I am out the door!!!!!! High anxiety and panic attacks… I learned years ago that one of the top main things that cause panic attacks is being abandoned.. in any way shape or form and I’ve experienced it at such a young age. I’m very much way older, 56 and I still feel like a daddy’s girl.. Anyway… I learned to take one room and clean it.. I usually start with the bathroom… depending on how I feel after work.. but getting one room cleaned makes me feel good.. accomplishment, I guess. I wait another day and do some in another room… We do not have to have it all done at once .. when we feel we HAVE to do it then it causes anxiety.. When we feel we SHOULD do this or that,,,,,, As my friend told me, Debbie, quit shoulding on yourself 🤣😂 Funny but I’ve said that now for years… You are a great mommy !!! Connor is a great daddy!!! And y’all have a great baby boy!!!! God Bless y’all much!! Till your cup runneth over 🙏🏼🍃🌸✝️💙💝💙

Y’all are doing better than I am. Our due dates were only a few days apart but my son Kyrie came two weeks early and Koazy was late so I’m about a month ahead and I have yet to muster up the strength to even start planning my great reset. This is also my third rodeo but all my kids are 7.5 years apart I know I’m a lunatic for that but hey it’s fine. You two have 100% given me the courage to at least make a game plan and maybe I’ll start Monday . Love you guys so much! Keep up the fantastic job!

OMGosh I thought I was the only one who said a “messy house is a lived in house” I actually felt so “alone” for thinking this! Liana you are so right just because it’s messy doesn’t mean it’s dirty! You guys are doing so wonderful as parents! I love your Christmas room! I love the lighted garland/greenery arch over the window/doors (I can’t remember which it was) it’s absolutely gorgeous and your tree is beautiful! I so need a reset day/week at my home! You two have inspired me! My kids are grown now and it’s just me so I don’t have as much help as I used to and my work schedule is crazy, I never know when I will have time off as my boss only puts out the schedule on Fridays and rarely schedules anyone two days off at the same time so I might have to just ask to schedule some consecutive days/time off to get anything accomplished but it is so necessary!

I love how real and humble you guys are, abit of mess doesn't hurt anyone and your time is invested in working hard to become the success you've both become and to achieve what you both have, on top of being amazing parents! Be easy on yourselves! If it feels like it's getting too much then maybe you could consider getting in a cleaner to help? Either way keep doing what you're both doing, you guys have got this 💪🏼 Also love the editing! ❤
