You know they say cat people thrive on rejection that's not true. Cats are very loyal and supportive animals. Think of it this way if your dog gets away it runs away you can let your cat go outside freely and it comes back. Cats don't stay with us because they have to they stay with us because they choose to unlike dogs cats can fend for themselves in the wild because they're still basically wild animals not even a hundred percent domestic yet but they are very loyal and very sweet and very affectionate.

i have 2 cats and 1 labrador dogs are loyal because its in their instinct to follow a leader a cat does not have that type of instinct because to them it serves no purpose. cats actually have roughly the same thinking patterns as humans " whats in it for me if i do this?" dogs see a treat, they do a trick, then get a treat and not much thought is behind it they just do it. with cats the love kind of feels more genuine where as dogs it can feel like they are just doing something in hopes of getting a reward.

"Dog people are relationship builders" -- uh, because you prefer an animal whose affection you just admitted you DO NOT HAVE TO EARN? Co-dependent much?

zammmerjammer I don’t take issue with you making this comment due to your avi which suggests you’re a dog person.

I think cats fit more introverted people most of the time who don't like too much excitement or would prefer to stay home and read instead of taking a dog to the park and read. Dogs are for the more extroverted people who love to get excited and play and who can handle the high energy of a dog most of the time. Not to say this is universal because it's not. Everyone is different and has a different lifestyle and preference. They are both amazing animals and they make great pets and companions in their own unique ways. I don't know what I would do without my cat in my home. He makes me happy. We don't play all the time but whenever he wants affection he comes to me and whenever I want affection I go find him wherever he's hiding. It's just about the life between you and your pet.

The german sheperd seems understand wat vet say and wat happend to him so he comes to owner and say everything will be fine.... So sad

I think cats and dogs can be the same as eachother, they're both relationship builders

+Olandes Volador Dogs evolved from wolves. They have that pack instinct. It comes naturaly to them to please you. That is just how they are. A cat isn't as easy since they don't have that pack instinct. Cats are like people. They won't just throw themselves at you and please you in anyway they can. Cats are very smart. Some people just take that lack of devotion and think it as stupidity.

"Dogs evolved from wolves." and cats were scavengers that our ancestors basically decided "hey that furry thing is kinda cute, I'm gonna give it food". Dogs and cats were both domesticated, but we domesticated dogs like we did horses and cats like you do the squirrel that keeps appearing on your porch. "Cats are like people." Cats are like the people Mom warned us about. Cats are users (ex: Cats rarely meow at each other, they do it because it subconsciously sounds like a human infant) "Some people just take that lack of devotion and think it as stupidity." You have it backwards. People like you take that lack of devotion as a sign of intelligence when it is the opposite, a dog learns how to achieve its goals and desires though interaction with you.

Why we love dogs: A symbiotic relationship built over millennia with an animal that will return your love. Why we love cats: Uhhhh delusional women, very sad men, and the insanity causing parasite cats carry ?

Cats return love but they do it on their own accord not to please you. Because cats are not a pack animal. In the eyes of a cat you are only a bigger cat. For a dog you are the leader of the pack (hopefully) , if the owner do it the right way and do not let the dog be the leader.

Don't feed your cat for a few days, see how much he still loves you or your other cat if you have more than one. He doesn't love you, he loves that you know how the can-opener works and pet him when he wants attention. Hell you even agree with me in a way: _"In the eyes of a cat you are only a bigger cat."_ Do cats, or any non-pack/herd mammal, love other animals? Do they love their own species? Hell no. Everything is either a source of food, a rival, or something to be feared.
