Im from Finland and plan to retire in IloIlo 2022. For your information, its funny but Ilo means happy in the Finish language, so IloIlo is HappyHappy City. So I belive you in the video when you say people are very happy over there.

Iloilo City is your getway to several tourist destinations such as Guimaras Island, Gigantes Islands in Carles, and of course, the Boracay Island in the north. Good choice guys! I am planning to build my retirement house in iloilo in a few years from now. I have started to save & did some research...and what I can say is in Iloilo you can experience both the rural and urban vibe. I can be in my ricefield or farm but I am a short drive away from the malls, museums, restos and churches. I also like the cultural connection with the past...the old houses and churches are so beautiful and well preserve. Thanks & sending love from Canada.

It's nice to hear from someone not from the Philippines talk about Iloilo City in a different perspective. Mostly tourists would want to visit the big happening places in the country, hence, the long stares. Locals would be like...hhhmm..interesting to see fresh faces and it's not even Dinagyang.😁 Yes, Iloilo is much laid back, the homey feels, like time kind of suddenly slows down when you land at the airport. A little bit of add on to your local food, do try the mangoes from the Municipality of Leon (nom nom nom).😋 If you crave for seafood, and don't want to travel for hours, may I suggest going to the coastal areas nearby like Villa, Oton, Leganes or Dumangas. You will see small stilted resto bamboo huts by the road lining up the stretch overlooking the waters. Have you guys tried the Pancit Molo or the cacao tablea? Visit Camiña balay nga bato in Villa. I hope you guys will enjoy more of the Province and City when you return. Thank you for choosing Iloilo and welcome. 😃

Exactly!! You have access to great beaches and islands. ILoilo and the rest of Panay have the best beaches in Ph 🇵🇭. Isla Gigantes, Boracay Seco, Mararison. Morever you also get to experience other provinces. AKLAN ANTIQUE CAPIZ GUIMARAS. These provinces have there own personality and a lot of things to offer! I LOVE PANAY!!!

IT'S A GOOD CHOICE TO INVEST IN ILOILO. APART FROM IT'S ONE OF THE RICHEST CITIES, THE PEOPLE ARE SO LOVELY AND HONEST. THERE ARE SO MANY THINGS TO EXPLORE IN THAT CITY.

I like it that is a hidden gem in visayas. Its a lovely peaceful city and island. The people there are different and eady going. Nobody hustles you like Cebu or Manila.

Been working abroad for three decades and everytime I have my vacation in Iloilo City I did not even stay a single night in Manila. After landing at NAIA 1 I directly checked in for domestic flight to my beloved Iloilo City. Thank you guys for your love of our place.

I think Iloilo business area is not only concentrated on one location. This is why the city not so congested than other cities in the Philippines. Malls are scattered throughout the municipalities too. You can shop in Pavia, Oton, Santa Barbara, Pototan, Leganes and so on... Factories (for toilet papers, animal feeds, chips, snacks, etc...) spread in Loboc, Lapuz, Santa Barbara, Leganes, Pavia, Ajuy, etc. Wide roads than other cities too. Oh I miss my home town. Maybe this year or next year... I'll try to go home. Keep you loading videos of my home town, Iloilo. And thank you. 😊

You're right, I lived across the water in Bacolod city and have been many places in Iloilo and they have a reputation of being a clean and laid back island...loved it.

I agree people from liverpool are friendly and talk to anyone.I have been there once for vacation with my boss and her family they are very welcoming and warm.

Thats why i like iloilo, its a city but has a towny feeling and everything is very laid back and cheap. You can go to sg or hk directly if you want to play at universal studios or disneyland.

But, we still have fears, we don’t want our land be populated and taking advantage.a true and native ilonggos are laid back and calculated. Iloilo has always been a quiet but yet a progressive city / province. The local government in the city has made an incredible effort to transform a dirty city to the cleanest in asia in a decade. I was born and raised in Iloilo and you will love the warmth, smile and the friendliness of the Ilonggos. I cannot wait for the iloilo-guimaras-negros bridge (hopefully covid will not affect the plans) to be completed. These three islands will be the it place to live in the Philippines in the next 20 years. Im so happy that a Brit love my city, as much I love living here in England.

It was a heartfelt and overwhelmed from ilonggas here.. I am proud to say iloilo is the place to be.. Iloilo is a peaceful place and friendly people.. how i wish i will meet you when i came home.. our ambassador of Our place iloilo.. Also Guys its Great if you have Motorcycle ... Visit every town near the city.. Banate has Good Oyster and dumangas has good Tilapia ...Zarraga has great MudFish ... Hope you can do vlog exploring towns near the city... Iloilo is kinda undiscovered so expect the staring.. But its OK just be sociable

I went to work in Manila in the early to mid 80's fir 2 years before passing the test to come to NYC and at first I wouldn't make it in Manila because it truly is a fast paced city and a different vibe from that of Iloilo but then the plus side is it prepared me for NYC

That’s where Gigantes and Sicogon islands are...😊😊😊 You need to visit and explore the island province of Guimaras... That’s the island right across the strait from the city... A short boat ride away... It’s a treasure with lots of hidden gems... You also need to do a video of the old churches in the city and the province... You will not be disappointed...😊😊😊 There are many expats in the city and the province but they’re not as active in social life as in Cebu or in Metro Manila... Iloilo is laid back because most of the businesses of the richest locals are mostly in Metro Manila or somewhere else, though it’s changing now... It’s the way we are as a people also... You can even tell it by the way we speak our language, slow with a sweet tune which we carry even if we speak English...😊😊😊I can tell an Ilonggo anywhere in the world speaking in a different language by his tune...🤣🤣🤣 our best local product is us, the people...😊😊😊 Iloilo city have the most universities and colleges per capita in the country and comes with it the most educated population as well... sadly though that most have to get out of the city or even the country to find good jobs... you will find out that most of your neighbours are nurses, seamen, engineers working all over the world... some of those nurses might even be your neighbours in Liverpool...😊😊😊 Enjoy my city...😊😊😊 Now your city too...😊😊😊 The most welcoming and loving city of the Philippines...😊😊😊 MORE POWER and GOD BLESS!!! Iloilo City is much larger than Puerto Prinsesa...🤣🤣🤣

There are still tons of places that you haven't explored in iloilo like the waterfalls in Igbaras and Leon and of course the mini Baguio in bucari leon, the caves in bulabog putian in dingle and of course the dam in Dingle where there is a pool there where the fastest swimmer in Asia trains before she won the seagames what else one of the popular summit in iloilo the Mount napulak also called the boob mountain. And much more heheh hope you visit us here again during the when it's already safe to resume the festivities esp in January during dinagyang festival then a week later the patronal finest in jaro and a week later the paraw regatta festival. They are very unique in their own ways. :)

There is a small island near iloilo mostly foreigners are living there in they're own yachts it's really beautiful place, it's nature overload. U can ask at the tourism office.

Iloilo city and it's people are really laid back. By 10pm, it's virtually quiet. You might mean Sicogon. It's beautiful.
