Got my first one...traded in my tesla and let me tell you, rivian has a ton more passion than tesla. I hope they don't lose sight of customer first.

I like how Rivian keeps us in the loop with everything they do. Their presentation is transparent from inside out on how they build their vehicles and the breakdown is impeccable. The Rivian community is something else. Can’t wait to be part of it, R2/R3 🙌🏽
As someone who currently drives a Subaru Crosstrek, I'm seriously excited for the R3 in several years.

We have an R1T and Forester, which I think is a perfect combination! The R1T is the first one out of the garage 99% of the time, we both love it.

Same! As an SG Forester owner, it's between the R2 and R3 for my eventual replacement vehicle. All depends on the roof line length.
RJ Is such a great CEO and I can bet that we will all see Rivians everywhere in 2 years.

0:26 Thank you for mentioning price-point. In my opinion, every version of the R1T doesn't need to have tech to the moon. Make a stripped down "work truck" version and price it in the same ballpark as ICE trucks. I'd be first in line. But do it before Ford figures out they can put the Mach-E drivetrain under the Maverick.
I love showing people the interior with sleek lines and real wood trim. They love it. Then, I put it in sport mode and punch it. That's when they start to really love it.
I am very proud to be on this journey with my R1T.

Guys, you’re building and astonishing product but you’re also keeping the outlook for your strategy and mission for decades ahead. This is how it’s done. Small steps that generate constant growth and improvement, so your vehicles become more that a mere sum of their parts. Keep it up!

I really do hope they succeed for a long time. I like their philosophy and take on an EV. Hopefully the Rivian is accessible in Asia, planning to get an R2 before 2028.

Hi Rivian, I have the R2 on my radar for the future but please focus on range and not so much on performance. SUVs are family cars for road trips, not race tracks. Thanks.
You could also reduce cost of energy by installing solar canopies to the external storage including the WOW yards, if you have them, and carparking areas including those parts of the carpark that are used for circulation. Usually carpark solar canopy systems only cover the airspace directly above the parking spaces but this means only ⅔ of potential ☀️ power generation capacity is utilised, leaving the final ⅓ wasted. WOW yards (Warehouse On Wheels) have HUGE solar power generation capacity potential, especially where companies are looking to transition their fleets to EV. Outdoor spaces, when either empty or not at full capacity, still attract the same costs [maintenance, property taxes, security, lighting, insurance] as when fully utilised. Therefore, making those spaces work harder in their three dimensional capacity rather than just the two dimensional, is simply logical and good business; also a great PR opportunity.
Rivian is easily multiples of times the company that Tesla is. The interior of Rivian vehicles is amazing, the fit and finish is fantastic, the lines where body panels meet on the exterior is perfect compared to many Tesla vehicles I’ve seen and driven. Additionally, you don’t hear about disgruntled employees at Rivian however, Tesla is a different story! Thank you, Rivian for being an exemplary company. Please continue making amazing products..

And rivian has all those issues and more just read the rivian forums and talk to a real rivian owner! Oh yeah and rivian has already burned more capital up to NOW than tesla raised in its entire existence. Forbes says rivian consumed over $20,000,000,000 since 2019. Ad in rivians debts vs cash left and they are near to worthless! Vs tesla has more in the bank today then they raised with almost no debts and of course operates 5x the factories, has over 5x the employees, operates the world's 2 most efficient automotive plants for 3+consecutive years! Tesla does 30x rivians sales and also makes home&commercial spec chargers, solar panels and solar tiles, software, motors, inverters, car home&grid scale batteries and they offer more model's to. But keep on banging that tiny little drum set for good ole rj! 😁

Rivian has come nowhere near where Tesla has been for years. You don't have to make up false claims against Tesla to appreciate that Rivian is making great strides to join Tesla as a leader in the future, largely by following their lead.

I love Rivian as a company and their marketing and vehicles are good but the price point is pretty high. You can basically buy a Macan EV for the same price. R2 needs to come sooner..

Alot of cites in south east Asia as Saigon and Hanoi have flood problem. Each time after rain thousands of cars stuck on the streets. Please bring Rivian car and truck there to run on the flood street for KZreadrs to see. That would be great ads

A humble CEO. An amazing car. Please people buy this one. Not the Teslas anymore. The CEO of Tesla does not deserve to be supported anymore. If i would have money i would buy for sure a Rivian!

This should be about the product, not someone’s perception of CEO.
It might be too early build something with the quality features of the Nintendo Gameboy but I think it's something the industry needs to work towards especially for affordable cars.
Sounds all great, and I'm willing to buy: but there's no chance in Europe! Bring a Europe suitable R1T to here and I'll support the growth of the company (and most probably many other people)! :) Just don't do the same mistake as Tesla (and every other US car manufacturer): good service is very big in Europe! Don't mess that up!
This seems minor, but how do you address buyers that find connectivity through CarPlay and Android Auto a must-have? It seems like an option you should allow, whether you believe in it or not.
Rivian all the way. I'm so close to buying. But the price point is just too much esp considering I broke the bank on Tesla. RIVN is the natural complement. Want to hire me RIVN? hmu
I like the Rivian, but my issues are found in all EV brands. I want interface that isn’t dependent of a touch screen, or lack of cluster. Physical controls, handles on doors that are just that, no motorized pop in-out handles, a solid roof. Not quite a no frill cars, but also something meant for real life. I hope to one day being able to afford/justify an R3 but meanwhile I’ll stay with automakers that just make sense.

@@utkarshdeshmukh3268 Ford recently reported that they would be putting a $30,000 EV on the market. I love American made cars so if Rivian can do what Ford is doing, I'd be all over it
As a computer scientist, I would like to know more about the Hardware stack, what processor are you guys using? Is it nvidia, intel or AMD? Is there a GPU? Can you give us more information about the processing power?

Love my R1T. Had it for 1 1/2 years now. Unfortunately it had its first serious hiccup since I’ve owned it and it’s in the shop. I think the computer had a melt down. I know they will get it working again. But now I want the Gen2 R1T. This is a truck’s truck. I’ve got my reservation in for the R2 too. Can’t wait to see one in person.

Didn't really say anything. Have a look at recent Intel videos. They actually discuss the processes and tech details. Title implied you would as well.
If certain components can’t be worked on like I experienced when they had to replace my battery pack because a component went bad in my 22’ R1-T. When the warranty is expired is Rivian going to charge customers for a brand new battery pack because a component needs replaced and you can’t access it without tearing apart the battery pack? I love my truck but do I need to sell before the warranty is up?

Ok so the new battery packs with access panels to work on individual components will be installed as courtesy upgrade.👍
hardware feedback - please change the design of the frunk to open like the Lightning (includes parts of the front of the nose) - the lift over is awkward and difficult to use

It’s designed that way because of the deeper water fording it allows. The rivian is made for off-roading and that dictates the design decision, the ford isn’t. While I agree with you that it would be nice to load the frunk in my R1 easier like the ford, I wouldn’t trade it for the decrease in water fording. If you want a more street biased vehicle by a lightning or an EV9(which has no real usable frunk)

I can see how a lower opening could jeopardize the water seal. the theoretical fording depth of the R1T is 43 in or about 3.5ft so a low front opening frunk might not work. However I believe that's it's not actually safe to drive through water that high in the first place as the car could float (even at 7k+ lbs) in about 3ft of water

I'm agreeing with what you are saying but you are not considering the looks of the vehicle people want to like the esthetics of the product they are buying and Rivian is a good example of this.. Its a great product but sales are not high enough because the majority of the public isn't falling in love with the look

Nah, for software development. Isn't that what this video is about? I'm a software architect and interviewed with Rivian and they wanted me to move to California. Nah. Allow remote workers who can do the same job from their house. Don't assume I'm talking about offshore development or something even more ridiculous.
Still needs Apple CarPlay and Android Auto! This is why I’m not interested in Rivian or Tesla. I rather have a BYD (8000 software engineers and yet they still support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Thus a failure of Rivian refusing to support

I think that because many of the cars core functionalities are integrated into the head-unit display, they can’t without making some of the cars features inaccessible.
Please consider better integration of iOS and android. Still not a great interface. Feels similar to my 2011 4Runner

There are many reasons but I’ll give two. 1. The traffic information on the integrated maps is basically worthless 2. When listening to a podcast, technical training seminar, book the turn by turn directions don’t pause the playback (just speak over it so you can’t hear it)
Because tesla. Real answers. Haters will hate, that's what they do
let say even though the everying better than tsla , I don't like the car has bunch ot lidar, so that drags me back to not buying rivan over tsla. I like AI fsd. that's the only reason I buy ev. if not only rivian but other ev car maker has lots of lidar i won't buy any.
Imagine where Rivian would be if Tesla didn’t share patents.

I am disppoinged. You know what were the pain points when Tesla grew yet you are following the same mistakes instead of learning through them
I really like my Rivian, but the fact that having a safe, on-screen notification for incoming text messages and a safe hands free way to send texts is a clear non-priority for Rivian is crazy to me. I really would not consider getting another Rivian, either for my wife or kids or a new one for me, unless this is addressed. PLEASE address texting in the car! Thanks!

If you are truly worried about safety you should wait till you are stopped or parked to respond to or worry about texts at all. Or at least setup voice commands on your phone that don't require taking your eyes off the road. Instead of reading text messages from a screen while you're driving!!!

@@H3H3officialsome integrations do voice to text and text to voice for messages. With CarPlay you can also automatically set it to “driving” focus when connected to CarPlay and send auto messages that you are driving and will get back to them at a later time.
Why we build our technology in house. Short story - Tesla. Rivian - always following - never leading. Except for burning cash....
