A good choice all around, can't complain. You all don't realize how crazy the Indian media and home ground would have been and how much pressure they would put on Gukesh regardless of he wins or loses. It might also be hard for Ding since he can't speak English very well and would need translators to help him around. At the end of the day, I just want good games and for both players to be able to play at their best.

I am a GUKESH fan and apart from strong preparation lines of strengths and weakesses, GUKESH shall improve 3 areas as much as possible- 1. SHORTER TIME CONTROLS must be prepared harder... because if tiebreaks happen, Gukesh must be able to win it.... Remember, Ding defeated Nepo in the tiebreaks of the last WCC... 2. Calculation SPEED must be increased...greater clock time always give an advantage but when time is less, it creats pressure... 3. EMOTIONS AND PRESSURE CONTROL....which is most important.....6-7 hours matches, India V/S China pressure and winning pressure...apart from these, he must trust his preparation... Although Ding Liren is out of form, he must never be underestimated....he may make a comeback anytime soon....!!! MY PREDICTION: GUKESH IS THE NEXT WORLD CHESS CHAMPION... (4 JULY 2024)

Like in the olympiad china might not allow its players to play in india. Its same as ipl in dubai and t20 in usa. They will mostly give some compensation event to play in india next year since they don't want to loose their incereased fan base here.
