Why Vietnam is BETTER than China (the CCP won't like this!)

Vietnam is better than China and we are going to tell you why. Even though Vietnam is a major real estate crisis, the country has been working hard attracting foreign investors, as most companies and expats are leaving China in drove to relocate and find a more welcoming destination. In this episode, Attorney Ken Duong will compare Vietnam vs. China, from new China Visa policies to the US-China trade war that has foreign investors leaving China for good, and why he thinks Vietnam is the new destination for expats. This video will not make the CCP happy but the truth is that Vietnam is winning the war!

That's because Vietnam was never really about Communism. Ho Chi Minh himself said, he will deal with Communism after he defeats the French. He only became Communist (to get weapons) after the U.S. rejected his plead for help in 1946. Today's Vietnam is Communist In Name Only (CINO).

I hope that Vietnam learns from China's mistakes. Remember, it wasn't that long ago that China was open to private business, foreign investment and foreigners. In terms of the life of a nation this all changed overnight.

Ken, I have never been to China but can confirm Vietnam is a great country. I have been there more than 20 times, and am married to a Vietnam woman, Vietnam people have been nice except for the few line (queue) sneakers who butt in front of you. That happens mostly at lunch time at the Nhu Lan sandwich store. Not an important complaint. IMHO Vietnam will become a world leader economic powerhouse in the future. I live outside of Da Lat and only experience Saigon on my international trips coming in. I always look forward to "coming home" to Vietnam even though I am an old retired white guy. Getting my papers together to apply for a TRC.

I live in China at the moment. The cost of living examples are not correct for China. It doesn't cost $30 per meal here! That's ridiculous. Depending on your taste, you can eat a normal meal for around $3-4 easily. Rent doesn't have to be that high either. Depending on which city you live in and what the amenities are.

You are correct in that the graphic says "mid range", however you actually say "just to have a BASIC meal...". Regardless, $30 for mid range is also not correct. For one person, on just an ordinary meal, i.e. a work day lunch, I doubt most people anywhere in the world will spend $30. Please think about that. I have also lived in Beijing before, for about 4-5 years. You can have a feast for $30 literally, many international 5 star hotels have buffet meals for that price.

VN has a TI corruption index score of 41%, meaning VN is considered more corrupt than Malaysia (50) and Singapore (83). But VN is less corrupt than other ASEAN nations, eg, Thailand (35), Indonesia(34), Philippines (34), Laos (28), Cambodia, Myanmar (22). VN must up their scores as corruption is an added cost to doing business. How VN handle the latest scandals will impact her corruption scores.

To put it short, I absolutely LOVE Vietnam ☺️ However, I would like to see Vietnam give up the communist political system. Its a thing of a past and the country should move forward with rest of the world. Already in practice a capitalist country, VN could do a huge leap forward economically and socially by ditching communist system. But this just my view on the matter and anyone should have his/hers own opinion on this. Cheers! 👍🏻

As a businessman the most important is your company must generate profit and able to bring it out legally and the overall environment must be accommodative and safe. You kept saying communism. How much do you know about communism. Just because they doesn’t vote like you did one man one vote doesn’t mean they are inferior. Communism had nothing to do with your living standard. Most important is the leader must be honestly serving the interest of it peoples and nothing else. Look at America and EU everything are breaking apart, everything! I use to shop with my kids once a year in America. We had since stopped. Too much crime, everything are falling apart, it’s crazy! Thailand compliances of law are so much better then Vietnam although many places you still have to pay out of pocket money to get thing done.

Firstly US doesn't hate in you because you such. VN has nothing to spy on. China's labor cost is high such that China is either using robots or sending labor intensive labor to VN. Make no mistake, foreign nationals don't know to manufacture but dependent China manufacturing. So China manufacturing is either using robots or use Vietnam labor for final assembly. All critical components & materials are from China.

No need to bad mouth the other country to make yourself look better. If you like to make comparisons, to be fair, I would like to see episodes on Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia. The bottom line is Vietnam is still a communist country, some day, The US will drop Vietnam the same way as to China now. If I were to invest, Thailand will win hands down.

  • @willchu

Exactly, the only reason why the USA is friendly to Vietnam right now is because Vietnam can be a valuable chess piece in its fight against China. The moment Vietnam poses as an economic threat to the US like China is right now. Vietnam will be painted the same way the US paints China by utilizing their mainstream media, NGOs, and global intelligence assets. This Dumb Duong is just too ignorant to see it. Instead of staying neutral, he chose to get his agency involved politically and ultimately he will be burned. As a Chinese, we are aren't afraid of the USA, you think China will be scared of Vietnam? China owned you for hundreds of years. Don't bite the hand that feeds you.

So much absurdities in this video. Vietnam ain't anything like China, It's a small country that does assembly work. It's like China's version of Mexico. Stuff gets shifted there and you import stuff from China and it gets relabelled "Made in Vietnam". Even Trump almost threatened tariffs on Vietnam because of it. Of course you're environment is seemingly "more open" because you're not a geopolitical rival to the U.S and they don't spend $500 million a year on propaganda because if that were the case you'd lose access to these sites quick. It's not the Communist party of China you have to worry about. The U.S launched agent Orange on Vietnam not China. They like using these tensions because they have a project to build an Asian NATO. If war happens in the pacific then none of this will matter and Vietnam will likely suffer as a result.

A lot of misinformation about China here. I like Vietnam, but nothing like the diversity and food of China. And just going there once every year, you just can't believe how much China progress and changes each time you go there. I am starting to see the same crazy change in Vietnam over the last decade, but still nothing like China.

@@duongglobalbusinessconsulting Your example of meals costing $30 and rent $500 are exaggerated. Sure you can find expensive food and hotels, but on the average meals are like $2-3 and rent are like $100-$200, and many places are even cheaper than the major cities like Saigon and Hanoi and Da Nang. And all those little jabs and stabs on the Chinese government are a little disingenuous, some are just outright lies and fake news you probably get from Western hawkish media. Noone who ever visit China are ever deterred by the great firewall - VPN are so easy to access even grandmas/grandpas in little villages can show you how on their old cell phones. There are more companies going to China to look for business opportunities/markets than the small cheap labor intensive sectors looking for the next cheaper labour force to take advantage of.
