  • @erwinmarionneaux

    @erwinmarionneaux

    4 ай бұрын

    This is one of the best, most premium brands on the market but one thing to note though is that ANYTHING placed on a lens will affect the image, so ALL brands will be a little different. The goal for a quality filter is to have a consistent and reliable difference so that it doesn’t affect you when color grade. If someone is experiencing a green tint, that means their white balance is off and needs to be more magenta. This typically happens when the person white balances before they put the filter on. Always find the white balance after you attach anything you’re gonna attach to the lens

    Are you shooting in log? If so, your base iso most likely won’t be 100 anymore. The 2-5 stop will work most of the time, but if it’s really bright outside, you’ll definitely need a 6-9 stop. So it just depends on your typical shooting conditions. If you only ever shoot in less dramatic evening light, you may never need a 6-9 stop. But if you’re always shooting in full sun, you might only need the 6-9 stop if you’re determined to only shoot at f2.8 I typically shoot between f2.8-f4 and 2-5 works most of the time.

    I would go with the 2-5 first. I typically stay away from shooting below f2.8 unless I need to, most shots in movies don’t use that much bokeh so it can start looking cheap if you have a lot of bokeh for no reason. But the 2-5 stop I think is the primary filter you need, and then you can add the 6-9 stop for those special moments
