Why Tucker Carlson pretends to hate elites

Why would Tucker Carlson, who used to brag about being an “out-of-the-closet elitist,” use his primetime Fox News show to rail against the “ruling class?”

Tucker Carlson has branded himself as a populist, condemning the “liberal elite” that he argues makes up the American “ruling class.” It’s a good shtick, and it’s helped him stand out from other Fox News hosts. But while Tucker decries the “elite” on his show, he regularly ignores major stories of Republican economic policies that harm the working class, choosing instead to focus on bogus culture war stories.
That isn’t an accident. Carlson’s show is meant to distract Fox News viewers from Republican economics, channeling their frustration and anger at groups that don’t deserve it. That kind of misdirection produces what Marxist theorists call “false consciousness”: when workers are tricked into accepting their own exploitation.

No. It means that I was so incensed by your assertion that I found a technicality that would "debunk" your point. It's childish and alludes to the state of our nation. Alot of people believe they are just as smart as the next guy and unfortunately genetics proves that wrong. Disagreeing with someone is ok but criticizing them and calling them brain dead is hardly fair. He doesnt call you a peasant because you cant afford the things he can. @Ivan It's a constant battle between the poor people and the wealthy where that line is. It's important to define the line between the top 0.1%, the top 1.0%, and the top 10%. Largely, the anger and attention has been aimed at people in the top 10%. Personally, my income falls in line with the top 3%. Surprisingly, that's a household salary of $200,000. I don't own a business, I give heavily to charity, and I invest in industries that I believe will help our future generations. I am not your enemy. We share a common enemy. The top 0.1% have incomes of roughly 1.5 million dollars per year. Those people are paying for your anger to be directed at us, the normal freaking people who worked hard for our jobs. You do realize that I pay over $1,500 per week in federal taxes alone and I rarely get the benefit of getting it back at the end of the year. Sadly, yes. Those with 0.1%+ level incomes do run very large companies and carry very large sway with that status. The best way to fight them is to start new and better companies and DO NOT sell out when offered. Run them with integrity. Stop taking more and more of my money, though. It's being wasted at every turn by our government. I use it way better in my local community.

Nothing would happen. Bill gates is a HUGE advocate of higher taxes on the wealthy because he knows the amount of good it will do in BIG swaths but if he were to give away all his money, the only thing that would accomplish is to make himself the loser of this system so he wants to change the SYSTEM. While it does sound socialist at first, it's now the truth. the wealthy and corporations have lost any and all semblance of Patriotism and trying to make this country better. Take for example Ford who invented the assembly line, that innovation stood to increase his profits exponentially. Instead of just keeping it for himself he realized that he could improve the lives of his workers drastically and set a precedent for workers. He cut down the work week to 40hr & increased wages so that 1 Worker could support a family on a 40hr work week. The Elite and Corporations knew that the industrial age would bring them exponential wealth,. but with that they also took it upon themselves to also improve this country. We live in the most powerful, the wealthies, and most innovative country in history, So the fact that more than 50% of people can't afford a $1000 emergency, that we have to subsidize corporations low wages because it's not enough to live on, and the fact that a 4 yr degree from a STATE college is over 100K is shameful and embarassing. These weren't problems Americanas had in the 90s. It's unacceptable to have them now.

Vox loves taking things out of context and blatantly lying. At 6:27 they claim that taking less money from people who make to much is actually taking from the poor and giving to the rich.
