It was initially released for Nordic streaming service Viaplay in 2020 and then aired in Germany shortly after. Then in 2022 it aired in the UK. It took ages for it to be shopped to the US, and the CW eventually picked it up, coincidentally on the same nights Tom appeared on The Winchesters.

“The Professionals” was a terrible mini-series if you watched it for what it was intended to be; however, it was actually so bad that I watched it with my kids, and we couldn’t stop laughing. The acting and the writing were just awful, but it was like a really bad TV show from the 1980s that was about to get cancelled. It just got worse and worse to the point that we were dying laughing. It also gets old when actors talk about how “amazing” other actors are. Brendan Fraser must’ve been auditioning for his part in “The Whale” when he did “The Professionals” because he was just huge, and they tried so hard to cover it up. I’m guessing he weighed about 250-275 lbs.

Professionals wasn't THAT bad. It was a lot of fun. I think you just had to not take it too seriously. I don't think it was even intended to be taken too seriously. I admit some of the acting from some of the other actors besides Tom and Brendan were hokey at best, but I've seen a lot worse. Tom and Brendan were great in it. Also, Brendan may have put on a little weight, but for the most part, he wore a fat suit for The Whale. They filmed Professionals in 2019 and The Whale was filmed in 2021, so your timing is completely wrong.
