I have two of these for edge-lighting people, but until I watched this video it never occurred to me to try using one horizontally! That definitely goes on the to-do list…

I just bought the smallrig 120 x 30 one for 130$, its a Bowens mount. Comes with the inner diffuser too. The best part is it is so easily foldable. Very excited to try the different ways to use it, will post results of my experiments soon.

great presentation. I am interested in westcott 1x4 stripbox with bowens adapter. looks easy on site. Great to hear that you don't use grid (even for dual side lighting ?) because grids are more expensive than softboxes !!! In your courses do you have classes about taking photos of pregant woman ? reason why i was looking for stripbox to accentauate the belly,... and hair behind...

I've watched many of your videos which have improved my understanding of light, for which I'm very grateful. Recently, I've been shooting headshots using a 90cm parabolic softbox on a boom as my primary/key light with acceptable results. However, I've observed headshot photographers using the so-called "Peter Hurley" lighting setup with (2) 30cm x 90cm (12" x 36") strip boxes forming the 2 vertical sides of a triangle and either another strip box or reflector forming the base of the triangle and tends to provide an even amount of light over the image. I'm curious to hear your opinion of using these strip boxes in this way vs. your preferred method of shooting headshot portraits.

A white environment like that is going to bounce light around and affect the performance of the various light modifiers you are comparing. Fine if the intent is to incorporate the room reflection characteristics into the total lighting 'system'. In order to truly understand how each modifier behaves on its own, either an all block room or shooting outdoors at night is needed.

Hi, we're not sure we understand your message but we'd love to give you an answer if we can. What does Mfg mean? Who would be upset from the models wearing makeup? Unfortunately we're not quite clear on what is bizarre for this demo? If you could clarify your comments we'd be happy to respond thank you.
