I work for the health department in Western Australia - Brits make up an insane percentage of health care workers. Australia offers far better wages and conditions. Finding a place to live here is very difficult but not impossible. I managed to find s new rental after only four days searching.
Also a nurse in the NHS, waiting on 189. Good luck with your move

We are now stuck awaiting 189 😅approval from my employer as my husband has a health condition KPMG lawyers stated as there is a risk to our application we need to get an approval to proceed first. I recon we will get it.
Welcome to Australia Magda, you will love it here, we love you for coming over to help us! You may have to go to Adelaide for the Polish foods and festivals (not too far)! Perth is very warm, spacious, well funded and modern, and the medical facilities are excellent! I know you will all settle well here, "no worries"! 🤗

I came here as a nurse in '70s retired 4 years ago. Loved my work here, finished as part of the education department at the Austin in Melbourne. Austin is a brilliant hospital to work in. If you love research Austin is big on nurse research. Has a great ICU and we are the premier transplant hospital in Australia with liver transplants and the first hospital to be involved in a 4 way transplant. Sydney or Melbourne are the places to go to for the major hospitals. Melbourne does get cool in the winter but it's a short winter. ICU nurses are needed. Good luck you will not regret it and Melbourne has a vibrant African community.

Hey I just realised that employer does not cover visa cost as such. The $10,000 is for everything visa transport and accommodation etc so really after 186 costs nothing is left!
36c? This video must have been a few months ago. 26c on Wednesday on the Sunny Coast, still just about the best winter weather you find.

Cool! In which case, what is the latest on Magda’s move to Australia?
I hope Magda and her family make the move. I have family in Perth and other parts of WA and it is a terrific place to live. When did you do this one as it has barely gotten above 21C out here past Toowoomba.

For those nurses who are thinking of making the move to australia, you need a degree to apply direct to Australia. However, if like me you have a diploma you can apply to the new Zealand nursing council via cgfns. You can then transfer to aphra via the trans tasman agreement. You can then apply for anmac which is your skills assessment. Its a long winded process but this route you also dont need to present in person. Australian registration is paid in March (i think) not when you first register.

You pay AHPRA registration when you register AND the yearly is dues are $180 31st May every year not March for Nurses 👍

Thank you Ross and Magda. We are in the same situation too. Moving to Perth and We have been sponsored by an Engineering company where my husband who is also Nigerian will be doing fly in fly out in the mines. so it’s not too bad as he will be paid a full time salary for working only 2 weeks in a month. We look forward to meeting you in Perth Magda. Good luck
When you say football are you talking Soccer Magda? Hope you settle and it’s better than you even imagined. I live in Perth and love raising my family here. Life is good

It hasn't been 36°C in Brisbane for several months it was 21°C today, 22°C yesterday, so this must have been recorded months ago. FYI - Brisbane winter is like a nicer winter day in Sydney, just less of the really cold days (it's only occasionally a single digit max) and the occasional 30°C day in the winter is always a nice relief that I never had when I lived in Sydney, it's also not as cold at night, the bigger difference is the summer, it's not as hot (it hasn't been over 40°C for a few years) but the humidity is much higher so even 33°C can feel unbearable for a lot of people, basically summers are a bit like wet season in the tropic and winter is like early spring / late autumn in Sydney.

I don’t know if this is still the case, but Perth used to have a system where certain Petrol stations open on alternate days on the weekend ...so if you’re scheduled to open on a Saturday, then you can’t open on a Sunday .
I'm a registered nurse in the UK and I'm hoping to make the move next year on a sponsored visa. I've recently discovered that having an autistic child may put a stop to our migration plans so I'm now in two minds whether to try or not. He's 9, in mainstream school and needs little additional support. It would be a huge outlay just to be told at the last hurdle that your child won't be let in.
It really doesn't matter what she does, she's got a great smile.

And there's quite a large Polish community in Perth.
Hmmm sounds interesting, we’ve been living in Uk for 20yrs+ and its seems like we just work and pay bills! Me and my wife works in NHS and considering to head to Australia. The only thing stopping us is we’ve pretty much settled here but life here is tough but we’ve managed to juggle around. With all this chaos happening in NHS and the government we might have to rethink where to settle and work where we feel valued and appreciated and I guess that would be Ausi!! 🇵🇭🇬🇧🇦🇺.. FYI only 16k Rns and Doctors have left NHS for only 2nd quarter of this year 2023 it’s shocking!!

Getting a nursing job here shouldn’t be a problem. You may have to do a little training on Aussie nursing. Get in contact with Hahn Electrical for hubby. They are screaming for sparkies (electricians).

You need to get the CLOT shots to work in the age and health sectors in Australia STILL. .
Im a doctor and have an offer from SC and Brisbane and am SO UNSURE
I used PSS when I was originally due to move in 2018. I cancelled it all a month before my flight because it was a marriage visa and I didn't want to go through with it lol anyway back to the point, PSS refunded me part of my fee and sent it back to my house no issue 😅 Not that any of you will be doing that, but a very good company from my experience haha
