I'm 64 years young, I've owned three Triumph Bonnevilles. 650 four speed , a 650 5 speed, and a 750 5 speed. Especially with the 750 bonny I never raced a Harley that I didn't blow off. I had TT straight pipes, Mucuni carbs, flat tracker seat and tank & bars, I could stand up on that bullet seat and do wheelies in second gear for a quarter mile. My idol growing up was Evel Knenvel. Best bike I ever owned and I've owned 24 different bikes!!

I have a 2013 T100 with the TORS mufflers. Great sound. I am 63 years old and have owned 20+ motorcycles. This is BY FAR the greatest all-rounder I have owned. It does literally everything well. It's got decent power and it handles like a dream. It's smooth and comfortable (with one exception). The rear shocks are pretty poor. I replaced them with a set of Hagons from British Customs. It will cruise at 80 all day long. (I did go up a tooth on the front sprocket). But I just have to point out something glaringly wrong with this guys demo ride. His front forks are sagging BADLY. They are not properly setup. But instead of a bunch of fuss, just spend the 100 bucks for Progressive springs and be done with it. In summation, with these mods, best bike I've ever owned. Progressive springs, Hagon shocks, factory TORS mufflers (identical style as original), K&N filter, one tooth larger up front, mini turn signals, and an ignition switch move kit to the instrument panel. It's a lifetime keeper. Oh, and the engines are built like tanks. Way over engineered. Should last forever.

Hey Sean, When I purchased my new 2015 air cooled Bonnie T100, I had the choice to wait for the water cooled models that were arriving in less than 6 months. I thought long and hard about it and decided that the AC T100 was the way to go. Man, am I glad it did. In arriving to this decision, some of the things I considered were: Large selection of aftermarket products available right now, The extended user knowledge base of this model, and the bike being more true to its heritage. Now don't get me wrong, the new Bonneville line of Triumphs are are great, (dual discs up front, not needing 15 minutes to get under your seat, and a fuel gage (what a concept)). A good friend of mine decided to wait it out for the T120. Now that I have experience with both models, I have to say that most of this videos comments ring true. Cheers, Ken

My 2013 T-100 was my first bike off the showroom floor. I didn’t start riding motorcycles until I was 51 years old and this is the bike I bought. Yes, I still own it and it’s definitely my forever bike. I’ll hit the 70k mark this week. I’m about 350 miles shy. Then, September 3rd, I leave for my yearly solo motorcycle trip through the southeast. Mostly the Blue Ridge and Appalachian mountains. I’ll leave Orange Beach, AL. and ride through Alabama, of course, Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, Tenn, SC, NC, Georgia, Florida and back home. About 2,500 more miles. I know a lot of guys ride much more than that but so many hardly come close to that. I’m 61 years old. If I lose all I’ve worked for my whole life they won’t get my motorcycle. I’ll buy a tent and keep on going. Yes, it was my first bike and definitely my last! I’ll NEVER sell it. I have decided when I get to 100k I get to buy a new bike BUT it’ll be a side gig. I regret not riding when I was younger but I’m trying to make up for it! It’s the greatest thing, other than family and things like that, that I’ve ever found. Thx for your channel! I used to Own a Triumph Adventurer. My experience with Triumph is very good quality and reliable. I would love to get a Bonneville! I have a Honda Shadow 1100 Spirit now.

This is a fun, and funny, video. At 63, not having ridden in decades, and just entered into semiretirement, I just picked up a 2013 T100 with a mere 2.4K miles on it for $5K. It has a few inconspicuous score marks low on one pipe, but is otherwise in new condition. I've barely ridden it yet, around the 'hood only, but for the "artwork" aspect alone (Fusion White/Carnival Red), the neighbors should thank me for parking it my driveway!!

Rode mine from England to Istanbul Turkey in 2013, great fun.

I took a International Driving Permit thinking I might need it for Turkey. Although the Turkish boarder official checked all my documents he didn't bother with the I D P.

I love my Triumph T100 Bonneville it is so much fun riding even to work. I believe Steve McQueen and Marlon Brando & Billy Idol felt the same way.

Sean repeatedly stresses that this is a beginner's, or entry level bike. When you pigeon-hole and typecast a bike it is not only a disservice to the bike but a disservice to the rider! Please don't do that. I have been an avid motorcyclist for almost 35 years. I have 2016 Triumph Bonneville T100. I can tell you that it is every bit as engaging, fast, dynamic, and nimble as any bike I've ever owned!! And I've owned many different bikes some of which were much bigger and more powerful than this. Also from a marketing standpoint it would be in your interest to reach a broader audience than just "beginners" and it would not be a misleading thing to say that it's suitable for any level of riding experience. This bike is simply a thrill and a joy to ride!! Just some food for thought.

Just bought a 2015 T100 from a friend who kept it pristine. Looking forward to riding her soon, UK weather permitting! Have restored and ridden most machines over the years, time to just enjoy the UK backroads on a traditional easy to live with machine. Great channel Sean and I agree with all you say about this bike and the T120.

Still ripping my 2003 T100. Bought it new and still love it. Got rid of the emissions stuff and have the staintunes on it and it's great! Definitely wish it had one more gear on the top end though. Highways are not exactly a treat.

I agree, the Bonneville is unique, one of kind, great as first & last bike too! I grew up in the 60's loving the Bonnevilles, BSA Lightnings, & Norton Commandos, but it was Triumph Bonneville that was my dream bike. I finally got a '07 in 2010, last carbureted model, added slash pipes and now it's perfect. No matter what else I buy, I'll never sell the Bonney.

Triumphs are AWESOME!!! I've had always had one on my garage since 1975, my latest is a 2011 Rocket 3 Roadster I bought new, I love it!!! 💙

My feelings exactly about the 2016 T100 I just bought. Not too much bike for a road noobie like me. Would have preferred a 2018 with water cooling and ABS but not a big deal and couldn't pass up this one with Hagon shocks, progressive springs and lots of other upgrades. Quality build, EFI, throttle by wire, great sound. The single disc up front is fine. Feels a little heavy if you lean it over when stopped but not when moving. I wish it had a 6th gear like the T120, but not all that important. Great bike.

You gotta love a classically styled Trumpet. I would opt for the 1200 but I do love a general purpose bike and this is all that and more. More as in styling, quality and nostalgia.

"Parallel twin" refers to the cylinder arrangement, not the firing order. My '04 Bonneville has 360° firing, which gives a power pulse with each crank revolution. I'm pretty sure a '15 has 270° timing. The only reason Triumph went to 270° timing was to give a slightly lumpier exhaust note. Roll-on and peak horsepower are essentially the same. My '04 was my 15th bike going back to a 1974 Yamaha RD350 bought new in '75. I bought the Bonneville to be my last bike. Since '04 I have had zero reason to think that decision was wrong. If you get stupid and toss the bike you will feel the weight when you try to pick it up. Other than that, no problem. I only wish it had two things : a 6th gear and a kick starter. Fine review. Keep rocking the beard. Be safe - cage drivers do.not.see.us.

Always enjoy your videos and passages. I have trouble moving beyond Japanese bikes. I have owned 7 Japanese bikes and have spent virtually nothing on repairs, just normal maintenance item expenses. My VTX1800R went over 150K miles before I sold it and ran just like the day I purchased it. Let's not discuss my Big Dog Chopper, which is a repair garage magnet I can't seem to keep on the road. BTW, I once had 3 bikes at the same time. Drove my wife crazy.

I own a 2014 Bonneville T100 and I love it. Just de neutered it by removing AI, O2 sensors, adding a bellmouth inlet, Emgo shorties, and an ECU map from Triumph Twin Power. Now she jumps off the line, no snatchy throttle, and she actually has mid range torque. Mileage is the same, around 42mpg. Again, I LOVE my Bonneville sooo much. Best bike ever.

Was in a dealership last week getting a MOT. Had a sniff around the 2nd bikes and came across a low mileage Bonneville in white with panniers bags. Had a good think about it. Really liked it. Was T100. Might be tempted by T120 but then again I'd like see what the mpg is like compaired to T100.

If you loves the T120 cause of more power, you should try a Speed Twin :D

I have a 2014 T100 red on black with fenders painted with red stripe. I installed Progressive’s shocks and fork springs, a solo seat with rack, waxed cotton saddlebags, a Dart screen and have a small adjustable shield for longer rides. I also have a ‘97 Valk, ‘94 BMW R1100RS and ‘09 BMW R1200RT, so more power doesn’t interest me. I like the simplicity of the T100 and it has no problem keeping up with the big bikes. As the curves get tighter, the big bikes have a hard time keeping up with me. If I had to go down to one bike, I think it would be T100. The BMWs are expensive to maintain, I love the Valkyrie, but I am 67 and finding the 700 lb. bike a chore pushing around the garage.

Reminiscent of my '79 Bonneville , candy apple red black flash and gold stripes. Can't say I'll ever part with it. Was my third bike and the only thing i ever bought NEW. I'm 67 now and still find it to be my best ride. Sometimes I wish it had a little more HP but frankly I don't need to go over 100 MPH anymore.

Does a 2019 Speed Twin count as a Bonneville ? I think it's called the Bonneville Speed Twin , but the Bonnie prefix seems to get lost . I'm probably going to get a Speed Twin as my first big bike at 50 something years old . It could well be the only bike I get if I don't get the sports bike bug , although I doubt I'd ever get rid of a Speed Twin, I'd just have 2 bikes !

i have a 2018 street triple RS and although i love that beast i am so wanting to drop a lil chunk and get an older bonny. just to have a diff riding style if i wanted to chill intstead of the zoom zoom namean?? LOL

I bought a 2013 Bonneville with the same Cranberry red paint. It's a beauty. Had only 1800 miles on it and I got it for 1/3 the MSRP. I use it to decorate my living room with a space for it to be on display in the center of the room. Sometimes I'll start it up at dinner parties and drive it out the front door and around the block raising hell. It's good fun.

Had a 1968 t-120 twin carb Bonneville. Set up for me with high bars,4 inches over on the front forks and a king/queen seat off of a suzuki GS 850. Fit me like an old leather jacket. Its been 35 years and I still miss it . Just sitting on it was phenomenal. Its a machine like no other. So yeah, I know you can never go back, but I would if I could.

@@ben9l351 Just got a 1983 honda cx 650 custom, a few weeks ago. I'm 66. My first electric start bike, ever. Working on getting her up to spec., but she's in good shape, garage kept. Not dyin' without a bike. You can never go back, ....so I went forward 15 years. This - is a motor. And i finally have a bike with brakes that work. That Triumph, I'll never forget, but it coulda got me killed. I see people putting new disc brake front forks on them, now. You can never go back..always forward.

Could you describe the vibration of t100 as compared with the gs750… which im presently using bec i have a plan of selling the gs in favor of the t100. (I like my bike but im constantly having issues with the numbness after few km of riding despite observing the proper handling.) thank you

...been riding 40+ yrs, ive put 40k miles on my carburated bonne, yeah, i can LIVE with a bike like this, BUT, it stinks to need tools to get under the seat or side covers...AND the mufflers are in the way of removing the rear wheel axle...and the signals dont self-cancel, and the idiot light isnt bright enough in the daytime, but i still love the bike!

Sorry. Gotta say. An inline twin is the same as a parallel twin. Firing order makes no difference. If they both fire together it's a 360°firing order,some are 180°,the Bonnie has a 270°firing order.....but an inline is a parallel twin. 👍

Sean, I agree the T120 is a better bike, but any Trumpet is better than a Hardly any day.

This bike is light and nimble than T120, which means that it is really good in the twisties and maneuverable in heavy traffic too . This is a dual purpose bike . You can do commuting and touring on this bike too . The power is adequate and it is not scary to ride like a sports bike . It's calm and soothing to your mind . Perfect for cruising along the highway at 100 or 120kmph . It doesn't have a a sixth gear but it won't make you crave for the 6th gear coz power is evenly distributed all across the revband . I would buy this and spend the extra money to modify the bike for touring a little bit rather than spend all your money on the T120 which gives power at the cost of handling nimbleness and ease of riding.

Yes, it rides like butter smoothness. I have the T120 and I think she’s my last bike and she is a keeper as you said. There’s something very special about it…can’t define why but I know it is. I have ridden a lot of other bikes , other Triumph bikes too and none has felt so well to ride like the T120. I tested the Thruxton. Yes it is an excellent bike but in terms of top end you automatically compare with other bikes and lose interest. I’ve ridden the speed twin, which is also a very capable bike, but again we tend to compare it with other bikes we’ve ridden and again, you loose interest. But the T120 or the T100, I don’t really know the reason you don’t think about any other bike. I didn’t. There was none to compare it to. She has things of personality that immediately tell you about unique sensations. At least it was what surprisingly happened with me. I felt very amused taking the bike out and enjoying the particular way of cornering with it. Of breaking and stopping with it. Didn’t felt special in a technical way but on a specific and pleasant way. Different from all the rest. Not because of its efficiency, because I ride other bikes that at an efficiency level are better…so, what the hell is there? Still can’t say. I just can say that everything, but seriously, everything feels right about the ride with this machine. And that my friends, I can’t define exactly why or what it is. I just know it!✌️✌️✌️

how comfortable is riding with that style seat? never rode a bike with a seat like that.

Very awesome, and honest review. Whats fumy is that is how I describe the Yamaha XS650 "It could be your first bike, and your last bike." This review is the reason I started looking at the T100 and the T120 as my next motorcycle

I've done 115,000 Km on my 2017 T100. Looks and rides fantastic. Sadly the latest ones are ruined with black casings even wheels.

For some reason, you finished the video at the half way mark on the tape. Great video too, by the way! Triumphs are awesome bikes! They always have been that way.! Back in the 60s, when I was in high school, a friend of mine had one. It was a 650cc back then, but it had enough power and high compression that it took a real man to kick it on! Those were the days of kick starters, and no sissy -boy ever owned one of them. Guaranteed! Ask Clinton Eastwood or Steve McQueen or any other actor that rode one on set!! Steve McQueen owned one for reals and made them famous in America !The newer one has a lot more improvements and still looked the same as the 650s did back in the kick start days! A rider can't go wrong with a Triumph in his garage! Triumph has still kept its place in their corner on the market to this day, because of those two actors riding them in movies... They are awesome and also very good looking bikes to own!!

David Greve: First I must say that I agree, Trumpets are great bikes and I would take one any day over owning another Hardly Runningson. Just wondering why you wrote Clinton Eastwood? Nobody says that and if you are going to use his whole first name why stop there? You should add the Jr after it. Or, instead of saying Steve McQueen you should write Terence Steven McQueen. Mixing formal and informal is off-putting and sounds, well, ignorant...so does saying, "McQueen owned one for reals" where are you from that you say that? It makes you sound incredibly stupid, or like you are trying too hard to sound cool when you are not.

If you watch any of his war escape movies, Hes incredible on one! Vie never seen anyone jump stuff like he did! He IS the reason Triumph got a piece of the market in the USA! No kidding at all. Want to merchandise a bike? Put someone who rides like he did in his movies!! That's what I call a talented rider, and gnats what I call a powerful high compression Bike! Triumph is the best import the Brits ever designed and built! Still is too!!

I've had a Bonnie, and still have my first bike, the Sprint RS, and a Tiger 955. I love Triumphs.

Would it be stupid to put a windshield on this thing ? I'm coming off of a big cruiser and have come to appreciate a windshield.

Love this motorcycle! I bought a 1996 Triumph Adventurer 900, a Hinckley triple when it first came out and learned to ride on it. That was my first bike. I have never grown tired of it. I have it to this day. I may get other bikes but will always keep my Triumph. I enjoy your channel by the way and I appreciate the Scripture.
