    Rui Rojo It' 4.5 per square km ;) Pope Francis and Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI are both living in Vatican City (0.44 square km). Next would be Egypt with 0.000002 popes per square km. Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria of the Coptic Orthodox Church and Pope Theodore II of Alexandria of the Eastern Orthodox Church in Africa and Madagascar. So, before Pope Francis was elected, Rome and Alexandria had the same density of popes (0.00075 popes per square km).

    Update: Qatar now has trains! it's only a metro though. For proper intercity (if you count anything outside of Doha as a city) railroads you'll need to wait till 2026. For railroads that actually take you somewhere useful you'll have to wait for the Gulf Railway, which was originally meant to open in 2023. As of 2022 construction hasn't begun.

What no train tracks? but you still want it? okidoki. And yes the trains were crap. the Netherlands bought high speed trains from the same company, and they were unreliable, and fell apart at speed. They were returned after only a few months (mostly not) in use.

    @@teseofabbri1812 Yeah, and Hitler agreed to a non-aggression pact with the Soviet Union, and look how that turned out. The Lateran Treaty was in 1929, following years of negotiations in which Mussolini did not get everything he wanted but signed anyway. From there, Italian violations included the laws persecuting Jews, which violated the concordat when affecting Jewish-Catholic marriages. And given that Mussolini said of the treaty that "We have not resurrected the temporal power of the popes: we have buried it," I think that the Vatican was correct to think that they were being permitted existence so long as they weren't being perceived as a problem, which isn't the most comforting thought when the person on whose opinion all this rests is a violent dictator who had to make some compromises he didn't like, is already ignoring the terms when it conflicts with his domestic policies, and might want to, as Darth Vader put it, "alter the deal."

    Here's a math question to ponder: If we were to make a copy of the Earth that's the same diameter as the sun, would Solar Vatican City still be smaller that Terrestrial Russia?

  • @NeivGabay

    @NeivGabay

    6 жыл бұрын

    Boti Gamer the radius of the sun is roughly 109 times that of earth, making its surface about 11900 bigger than earth's surface. Terestrial vaticans size is 0.44 square kms, so solar vatican is 5236 sqaure kms. Terrestrial russia is 17,098,246 sq km, 3265 times silar vatican. however a more intresting implication, every simple highrise of twenty three meters, suddenly becoming two and a half kilometers tall.in normal earth gravity we arent capable of building towers of that height currently. Under the way stronger gravity of our new earth,all our cities will immediatly collapse.

    +Half as Interesting Man, if the numbers say you gotta change the format to keep at this full time (or if you were just getting bored), more power to ya, but the learning is the reason I came. Your original straightforwardness is what attracted me to the channel (like cgp Grey or 3blue1brown, etc). Now, especially with the smooth ad transition at the end (which can feel like you're trying to trick us into watching it), the shorter videos feel kinda like pre-amble for the ad. Like the content of the shorter videos is something you just need to get out of the way before you can pitch the sponsor. If it's what the people want, go for it. No shame in making a living. Love your rigor, just wish more was in this video.

    Great video, as always! Two small notes: the Vatican does have its own Police force (its a kind of Gendarmerie), but the shown picture at 0:58 shows a regular Italian Police car. Italian Police help the Vatican in security activities. I also read that the state doesn't have an airport, however, they do have a helipad which is generally used by Pope :)
