Hey--I am glad some of you are attentive enough to notice I accidentally call it "Project Oversight" instead of "Project Insight" at the beginning of the video. Why did I do this? I have no earthly idea. I was reading from a script. Ron Burgundy has an excuse, because someone edited his script. Mine...was correctly written. I just read it wrong. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@Mac J I mean really anything can go corrupt it's not just tech, it's just the larger they are the more power they have to influence things to go their way since they can just pay a shit ton of money to "lobby" (buy) politicians. Gas and oil companies, nestle, walmart, dow chemicals, etc. etc. In the end as long as you let money have unlimited influence in our government there's no end to corporation overreach.

Exactly!! Why I think it's the best standalone comic book movie ever made : -It shifted from the war theme from first avenger and did a 180. They came out with a political spy thriller with the king of spy thrillers, Robert Redford. -it showed that even though Cap has old school values, he doesn't shy away from highlighting them. -the continuity of Cap's standalone story is just superbly done with the resurgence of Bucky as the Winter Soldier. -the movie has it all : comedic, action, serious, dark and gritty, yet it doesn't feel rehashed and redundant like some other movies *cough* The Dark Knight trilogy *cough*

@@jayduong9838 I think that is more of an implied subtle side effect. Not that the serum actually makes you more good or evil, but it’s the old concept of give a man power, and Becomes more of what he is. The serum itself didn’t make Steve Rogers what he is. It was already innate in him. Now he just has the power to do it on a max scale. If Steve Rogers was given magical powers by dr strange, or was bitten by a radioactive spider, he would still be the inspirational leader he turned out to be. Not the Captain America trilogy, though it's obviously a part of that. It carries a lot of similar themes and concepts as Three Days of the Condor and All the President's Men. Captain America : the Winter Soldier is Marvel's best film since the story is well written and really doesnt have to be a Superhero film but its a espionage - on the run film . One scene that really knocks the ball outta the park is when Steve visits Peggy who has aged and ha dementia and dying. That scene gives the story and film depth. And the film gives Furu time which is very well paced action . Then the famous elevator scene is excellent . ( recreated in Endgame but w/ a twist ) Black Widow teams up with Steve and then introduces the Falcon as they meet up with the Winter Soldier as Steve fights him he finds out its his old friend Bucky who doesnt know him. The film is said by critics to be like 3 Days of the Condor which is awesome since the star of that film is the main villain of this film , Robert Redford . I recomend this film to non fans since it has well paced action and story that doesn't give you time to get bored. Get out the popcorn and be entertained.

Not only it was the best MCU film but the most Violent film Marvel has done without too much blood shed I mean it was brutal lol winter solider threw the guy glasses that’s was a hydra operative into a huge moving truck on the highway …. Like his body must’ve been scattered across that road … then Bucky goes on top on the jet and shoots the pilot twice in the head !!! Then Pierce shoots his maid twice on the body kills her dead … this movie was the most bloody without being bloody and Marvel will never do a movie like this again in terms of violence and killing was just off the charts

What I like about Winter Soldier and Civil War the most is how both films bring up complex questions about freedom vs order. Questions that are ultimately left in the air so the viewer could make their own opinions. When Civil War came out, people debated which side was in the right with a more or less equal divide on both fronts. When both sides of a debate have equally good arguments, you know you have written a good conflict story.

Thanks for a really good review. I have seen other reviews and discussions, but they usually focus more on Bucky, which is understandable. The relationship between Cap and Bucky is an emotional highlight of the movie. Your choice to focus exclusively on the underlying themes of trust and friendship, safety/ control and freedom/ letting go underlines a completely different aspect of the movie, one that usually doesn't come to the fore so much. Your review has enriched my understanding of the film, and increased my appreciation of it. My compliments.

We got a great story, not forced comedy and this is the first film to have the improved fight choreography. Thanks to Chris Evans actually.
