How could I have not known that one of my most fave PDs on Vox has his own channel?! I've been missing out on a lot of great vids!

I thought the same thing! It's not even a new channel
It honestly surprises me that you don’t have at least 200K subscribers with this quality. Keep up the good work! 👏

I wouldn't be surprised if instead of beef stew, the USSR tested the radioactivity of vodka after being near a test explosion
We have enough distance now to know how silly dipping your groceries in disinfectant was.
The 50s were such a strange time that kinda haunts me because of how odd and eery everything feels from then

It’s kinda like how the Victorian era was seen like back then.
Never stop making these videos man. Found ur channel a couple weeks ago and the quality is immaculate. Keep it up man!
As if this video is a year old and has sub-10k views - your content quality is 10/10, the production is two thumbs up, and the presentation 5* - so exciting going through your past content and finding gold like this.
Phil putting out non-Vox content FOR FREE and my mans not getting even a fraction of the views and respect he deserves
Great video! I was kinda hoping the stew was cooked by the nuke lol

Honestly I would not be surprised. It was hung on a wire out in the open though, so I'm guessing there was at least a little radiation seared into the mix.

As a small KZreadr I can only aspire to make content at your level keep up the good work.
This channel is an absolute gem!
I enjoy and respect all of your videos, but this stands out as a particularly strong piece of work. Very interesting and engaging. Nicely done.
It is also like the TSA theater we now engage in now. Some idiot failed to light a shoe bomb and now we have to all take our shoes off. There was also a guy who succeeded in lighting his underwear, which failed to ignite the plane's fuel, but we don't all show our underwear. That is because they KNOW we will revolt at that level. Government theater to gain compliance. Good episode!
Phil!! Love your work at Vox! I am so glad you started your own channel!
When a new crisis strikes, it is impossible for anyone to know exactly how it will play out. However, no one wants to feel helpless, so they grasp on to charismatic figures with assertive and practical solutions, even if those solutions become ridiculous in hindsight.
Phil, did you check the color of the meat to make sure it wasn't green and shiny before eating?
Thanks for lending some interesting perspective to then and now.

Lol I feel bad for JCPenney.
How is this video so damn underrated???!!
nice video phil 👍
Great video, Phil! Keep up the good work!
very interesting, I always thought it was only simple abomb test but that one was really well planned out
I never heard of this, so interesting!
This video is instructive.
i know the apple ii tests have nothing to do with the computers, but i imagined a goofy apple ii computer-nuclear bomb
It's like the Nuketown map.
Absolutely fascinating. I lived thru this just had a happy child room hiding under my school desk. We all thought it was just to defeat Japan (now a hugh ally!) and would not best used again

Did you say bemidji and get it right?
I do love these vids and how neutral you place yourself on the political points.

How did the cameras survive. When ever I see vids of those test and how every got destroyed I've always wondered how did the Camaras making the vids not get destroyed. Not because of zoom, they were obviously up close.

I wish I could afford the meal they fed that mannequin.
Algorithmic punch!
I have an idea or theory on your channels recent popularity. I think it could be what I call the "Johnny Haris effect," where a respected video journalist could potentially be facing editorial or management issues in which they're stories are seemingly limited. Just looking at your vox profile you went from stories every one month to now having longer spans of time between release of content originating from you I begin to have concerns that you could be released from Vox (just for the record both you and Haris' content were my favorite videos from vox,) and I think I'm just scared I'm going to see a second idol of mine released or fired from Vox.

Like at this point I've began to lose interest in most of the Vox youtube content because of some of the shifts in storytelling throughout the past couple of months. The people narrating and reporting in vox videos are just ripping the presetablished styles of reporting from both you and Harris. Stupid rant and I apologize for being rather upfront. I can't put full faith in Vox if they end up releasing top tier reporters who defined the narrative in which vox tells a story.
What are taxes for if not to shove your fears and tribulations on to the shoulders of experts who know what they are doing and have everything under control?
dayum interesting...

I also like how in the beginning it was like "Our families and our nation in the nuclear age" with bomb footage, and then after it it showed THE END. Was that on purpose?
Never saw that BranchCovidian video cuz I don’t lose my mind over a flu virus
Dislike solely because you said they should have paired their roast beef sandwiches with curly fries and were eating Arby’s curly fries🤮
