If Helenius can be anything like Lundell it's a home run. Konsta looks built already (solid) listed at 5'11" Heck JJ Peterka is 5'11" I can live with it.

Going overboard here, but Crosby is 5’11”.

@@mitchellg9908 We have a bunch of smaller prospects already. Really wanted more size. 5'11" is fine.

Helenius probably will be 200LBS once he hits the gym a bit more, and if he hits the american ''beef'' hard he might even be 210LBS :DDD. Crosby is 201LBs so around 200LBS would be ideal weight for Helenius.

I wonder how many NHL players have a No TRADE CLAUSE to the Sabres ? I looked on Cap Friendly and the SABRES have not 1 player with a No Trade or No Move clause from 22-23 season (other than Skinner-NMC). Why is it that players don't seem to want to come/stay in Buffalo? Is it the City? The Taxes? The Crime?

The team has been garbage for 13 years but this is a problem for other teams too. If you aren’t a low tax state or a big city you already are two step behind.

All the more reason to stick to our plan. This is how we have to build the team.

I really don't care about that. It is what it is. The Sabres have a stacked prospect pool & the last 2 drafts because teams above them drafted based on size or position allowing Benson & now this kid dropping to the Sabres. 👍

Sign him to his ELC & bring him over this offseason. Give this kid a chance ASAP. The Sabres have Tage & Cozens at #1C & #2C. Plus Peyron Krebs is also a center.

"These trades don't need to be done yesterday. There's this week, next week, etc." There's also last week, the week before that, the month before that, the deadline, the year before that, last summer, the year before that. I want to be reasonable, but it's hard to say "there's always next time" over and over and over. He needs to get something done. Period.

Everyone that wanted to see Adams swing bigger trades and signings last season doesn’t listen to his press conferences enough. He literally explains his long term philosophy point by point. The payoff of following it will be massive.

@bjarczyk I listen to them all. I understand his vision. He says often that he wants to improve the roster and he is yet to do that in 4 years in. If we evaluate based on what he says he wants, he still hasn't succeeded. Yes, we have a great prospect pool, but there isn't roster space or cap space for more than a couple prospects long term. Meanwhile there are clear holes on the roster.

They just said in the video that there is still all summer for that to happen. The bottom line is it’s not entirely on Adams if players don’t want to come here or the deal doesn’t work both ways. We can’t start making Tim Murray moves just because we want to make the playoffs.

@@bjarczyk right. And my point is, that's what they said last year and the year before. Players not wanting to come here IS definitely something we can hold Adams accountable for.

Helenius didn’t fall though. He was picked exactly (#14) where he was predicted. Look at nhl mock draft predictions and several others. You can’t call it a steal yet. Buium would have been a steal cause ha was ranked #3 and chosen #13.

For the record, his composite ranking was 11 overall. Cory Pronman had him at 14, Craig Button had him at 6. So these rankings will have variance. Also, if you look at the Sabres, how would Buium jump ahead of Dahlin, Power and Byrum as an offensive defenseman? The Sabres, from a draft perspective, have done well the last several years.
