The Knicks are one of the hottest teams in the NBA right now, winning 6 of their last 7 games. Over that same stretch of games the Knicks are thriving on both ends of the floor, ranking # 1 in defensive rating and # 9 in offensive rating. This video will explain why how the Knicks have been dominating.

Yes, OG was a massive upgrade to Barrett. The darkhorse is Isaiah Hartenstein. The only fear I have is the playtime extension on Brunson. We need a bench instant offense person. Maybe someone like AJ Griffin for a pickup could be useful here as Mitchell Robinson work on his return.

@ladistar incorrect the Melo team was better. But basketball was different. The Melo team was before the 3pt Era. The issue then was distraction by the GM stuff. Bad trades, bad coaching. Amare Studdamire, JR Smith, Shumpert, Melo, Kidd, Richardson, Kenyon Martin, etc that 2012 -2013 was without a doubt a better team. Even better than Ewing and Starks

I wouldn't put us in the same class as the Bucks and Celtics just yet, but I do feel comfortable that we can compete with everybody else in the EC. We're still missing one piece to be considered serious contenders. One thing that I have been pleasantly surprised with is the play of Ihart. I would have no reservations with leaving him in the starting lineup once Mitch returns. He does everything Mitch does, plus he brings a different dimension on the offensive end. Nothing against Mitch, but to avoid any chemistry we have developed since his injury, he needs to be on the 2nd unit upon his return. The Knicks need to sign Ihart long term. Quite honestly, I feel more confident with him in the lineup than Mitch

I know this will be controversial but besides being a lob threat name one other area that MRobinson is better than IHartenstein! Face it IHart is overall a better fit with the starting lineup. He's a better overall rebounder, better passer, offers more versatility offensively (his push/floater shot and can convert layups) and a better positional defender with his lateral movement, blocks, steals and IQ. Terrified, nah I think the Knicks need a backup big PF/C. Thinking like a Serge Ibaka type that could give good minutes as a backup. Inside out game...

We’re gonna need Donovan Mitchell and a HEALTHY Mitch Rob to get past Boston and get to the finals. I feel like They (Boston) got exposed. They was supposed to stick a knife in the warriors dynasty 2 years ago and didn’t. They’re the Toronto Raptors before DeRozan left. So I’m my opinion, in order to combat with that, we need another prolific scorer and the ultimate rim protector to enhance 2nd chance point opportunities.

The MVP of the trade was the front office for making it. OG gets a lot of credit for his Defense but it's Knick coaching that deserves the credit for the success. They're successful because now the Knicks aren't confused as to where the offense is going to come from. They've formed a 2 player scoring system with Randle and Brunson. And when they go with bench there is noone for defenses to focus on. So they all get off as they all have something to prove. Knowing either they get more minutes or get traded while playing good. Win win for the bench. I.hart is beasting on those boards. This means that the knicks can decide to keep the chemistry and trade Robinson to deepen the bench. You can't bench IHartenstein. Sims is good off the bench also

This is the most casual comment ever. Spida has proven nothing in the playoffs and has been a no show in those games his entire career. Having another 6'2 ball dominant guard who also takes 20 shots a game next to Brunson and Randle kills the entire dynamic of this team. The reason why we've been thriving so much is the fit of this entire team and how each player's play styles compliment each others. That's why RJ had to go. You need players who can be productive without needing the ball in their hands 24/7 and can also play defense which is also why OG and DiVo fit in so well with the starters.

@@Alart28 How can you say they've reached their ceiling when they've only played 7 games since the OG trade and won 6 of their last 7 games? The team is still meshing and OG is slowly understanding this offense each game. Telling me to wake up then proceed to say we need Mitchell as our #1 option when Brunson completely dominated him in both playoff series he's played him in is pretty ignorant to say the least. I can assure you that adding Mitchell will set our team back. It may look go on paper, but the fit simply does not work.

  • @goated2k

@@Alart28 And how can you say we are not a top 3 in the east? Disregard the current standings right now, I'd argue that we're a top 2 team in the conference. We just blew out a healthy Sixers team on their home court by 36 plus the Bucks have been underwhelming this season. And our offensive and defensive ratings since the trade begs to differ with your statement. It's very easy to get caught up in the narrative that we need another superstar, but please don't sound like a media puppet saying we need a "1a" because it's simply false. Recent history has shown that forming these so called super teams do not work. It all comes down to fit.
