Why the music industry felt threatened by Michael Jackson (PART 1)

In PART 1 of this series, I talk about how powerful Michael Jackson was in his prime. Throughout the series I'll hopefully be able to answer wether or not he was the MOST powerful artist ever or not.
I consider these things throughout the series when talking about power; equity and ownership WITHIN the music industry, influence and sale (on part 2).
On part 2, I'll directly compare MJ with other peak artists such as
Jay-Z, Paul McCartney, John Lennon, Jimi Hendrix and more, directly stacking up numbers on sales, cultural influence and equity/ownership!
Stay tuned!

Michael Jackson was probably the most honest and trustworthy person in the business world. He did not betray or backstabb anyone, including his former friend McCartney. He asked him and Yoko Ono if they wanted to buy the catalogue before he does the move. That is so considerate of him and really proves that, unlike everyone in the business, money was never his priority. Plus, a lot of the money he earned, he put back in the community and gave away to charities, used to build hospitals in Africa. This is part of the reason why Michael, as powerful as he was never got to be as weakthy as a lot of artists. He was not greedy. He was an icon, but above all, a agreat man, one of the greatest humanitarian and the world was lucky to have him.

Because when normally we’re so used to this saying that oh perfection doesn’t exist or it depends on perspectives. But for Michael, there’s no ambiguity and excuse, perfection does exist and he can see it clearly better than anyone else. Then through him we all got the chance to witness something that’s been created by human but feels like bigger than life.

Michael Jackson became the most powerful man in music industry because he was very talented and also because his tormented mind was obsessed with success and power. He wanted to appear as the sweetest and humble creature when in fact was dominated by his monster ego and his will to make History. All of this made him the most paradoxal human being you can think of, both sensitive artist and cold businessman, both feeling lonely and rejecting anyone who said "no" to him, both caring and helping children and able to arm them in the most vicious ways. Sony sued him for not succeeding with that album. Michael won that trial. My god, Sony gave him such a hard time, just because they wanted the ATV music catalog. After the 9/11 attacks he created "What more can I give" with several artist. Sony didn't allow that this song was published, although Michael wanted to donate the money to the victims of the attacks. In New York they played the song without permission Michael also invented MTV. He was the first who created music videos. Many artist followed the example of Michael. He always invented knew things.

Michael knew that they would kill him because of the catalog. A short time after his death Sony bought the catalog. Greed and jealousy killed Michael in different ways.

Does MTV even play rock music anymore?

I was SO TIRED of people putting out this FALSE story to say Mike "betrayed" Paul and that is why their friendship ended over Michael's purchase of the music catalog "under Paul's nose". So THANK YOU for including in this vid, the clip from Michael's former attorney John Branca, who explained what REALLY happened. Michael SHOWED consideration for both Yoko & Paul BEFORE choosing to place his bid. Neither one was interested, so Mike moved forward and won the purchase. HOWEVER---if you listen to Paul---he tries to act like Michael betrayed him & went behind his back to buy the catalogue, which is a LIE. I don't care if Paul is a former BEATLE---he LIED on Mike. Paul had his chance to buy his own music, but he DIDN'T want to fork over the cash and probably kicked himself later once he realized Mike bought it. People always only seem to want something once they see someone else has it. So it was free for someone else to buy. Who is Paul to say that Mike shouldn't buy it?! I lost much respect for Paul when he did that---he's full of himself and I don't feel sorry for him one bit. Michael was a sweetheart who tried to do the right thing by his friend. It was Mike who was betrayed by Paul.

Michael owned 100% of ATV then he merged it with Sony and owned 50% of the merged company with Sony.. not just the ATV part.. but 50% of Sony also. Sony/ATV became the largest publishing company in the world. It was the financial strain from the 93 allegations that forced him to accept Sony’s offer. Some ppl speculate the industry used the allegations to drain his finances via legal troubles so he would be forced to sell his share in the catalog. ATV was highly coveted & it was Just one man owning all that.

The father of the accuser was trying to start his own production company so it is possible that he used his relationship with Jackson to get in contact with Sony and later there was some sort of conspiracy to extort him to put pressure on him to sell the lucrative catalogue. What we do know for sure is that both cases were clearly extortion attempts.

At the end of the day, people will always remember one bad thing you did than the 99 good things you did At the end of the day, one may be the most successful person but no human is perfect. There'll always be a devil/addiction we're fighting, no matter how small it may seem to others, fact is it's a problem to you. To be that powerful and letting strangers into your home is one thing, but to specifically choose strangers over your own kids and family to share the same bed is very strange and suspicious and the "boys preferably part" just about confirms the allegations for me. I usually prefer just hearing both sides and move on without concluding if I wasn't there but I genuinely believe he loved children but I believe this guy was definitely a pedo. Difference between him and R.Kelly was the age group and maybe ego. Kelly was proud of what he did and chose age group that'll soon be a threat if mistreated while this one was probably ashamed of what he did, chose one he thought would forget, that never knew it's wrong and wouldn't stand a chance against him once they grew to realize. Courts aside, there's only so much they can do, they let off murderers everyday cause they can't prove but know it's them

@@mihlalimase6397 "boys preferably." Michael never said anything about preferring boys. The media has created this misconception that only boys were at the ranch when it's not true. Michael had entire families at his house and in his room. If you look at the backgrounds of the accusers everything falls apart. The family at the center of the 2005 trial had already made fraudulent claims of abuse. Star Arvizo admitted to lies under oath. The family had accused JC Penney security guards of abusing them after an incident; the defence had receipts that showed they had lied in that civil lawsuit and got a 6-figure settlement. Their claims against Michael made no sense either. They claimed he kidnapped and forcibly confined them at the ranch, but the family had left the ranch to go shopping, to see their grandparents, and entered federal buildings during this same time frame. It was honestly ridiculous. The HBO accusers made allegations in their own film that are false or inconsistent with prior testimony. What they say falls apart really quickly, too.

He used his money in a way that they resented, no one cared if he was rich, because they were also Rich, but when he used his money in the manner of those who held power within the business side of the industry, to them, he was overstepping his boundary...I had a Beatles fan say to me that, Michael was wrong for buying the Beatles catalog, because supposedly they were friends, when I asked why he shouldn't have, he said because they didn't do that to Him..So if a fan could feel that type of way, can you imagine those in higher positions of the industry?...the music industry doesn't mind someone getting rich, and buying a school, start up a clothing company, purchase stock in a sporting team or create a record label, but the minute someone starts to use their wealth within the industry to acquire things, those who want wealthy artists to remain dumb, deaf and blind, will not forgive such use of wealth.

Remember Michael besides owning half of Sony Music, also wanted to buy Marvel Studios long before the $40 billion Marvel Cinematic Universe Box Office came to fruition. Even more impressive was his ambition to rival Disneyland with his own amusement parks around the world, starting with the billion dollar Majestic Kingdom resort in Detroit. The Marvel and Majestic Kingdom ventures never got off the ground because his image and ability to generate liquid wealth through album / tour sales was under sustained attack by those that wanted his billion dollar assets. You should read Michael Jackson Inc by Zack O. Greenburg, because MJ started the culture of having your own clothing line, perfume, shoe deal, video games, Pepsi-deals, etc and all of that was copied by celebs that came after him like Jordan, Jay-Z, Beyonce, etc.
