The reason a film like Alien, made 45 years ago and had a female lead, did so well, was because the film focused on a good story and not identity politics.

Oh please, the real reason you like it is because Ripley is basically a right-wing character, who you don't know anything about, doesn't change during the film, and uses guns and violence to get out of her dilemna. Her only conflict in the film is not to get killed, not anything she caused or gave her inner conflict. Same thing with John Wyck which you probably loved as well, and that should have ended after the first film... But nice try...

​@marioozzie What are you talking about? I assume you mean Alien"s" not Alien. But either way, you are just wrong. Ripley does have a character arc (the term you're looking for.) She goes from a simple passenger, advising a team of Marines to a bad ass herself. But the most important aspect that you are missing is her motivation. Her feminine, motherly instincts to protect Newt forces her into the protector role. That's why her character is relatable and memorable. "But nice try though."

The Panderverse nailed the issues plaguing The Marvels, She Hulk etc.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with female movie leads in itself. It's just that Kevin Feige is doing it all wrong. Focus on the story not identity politics.

It's funny to me how movie execs and hype people forget that if you have a good movie and good trailer, you don't need to talk BS to get people to watch. They think spouting "Awesome" and "Amazing" is going to get people to watch crap. If people do watch because your hype and movie sucks, they will feel cheated and let everyone know. BS just always backfires.

Bah, i don't hate women, i hate seeing super hero movies turned into some sort of comedy to make me understand a woman can be so bossy that every man becomes a stupid useless part of her wonderful and powerful existence. They made Thor an idiot, they killed iron man, they made Cap America grow old, then they put on the screen characters nobody felt the need of. Now they call us sexist and racist because we don't like this bs... you can think what you want, but if you like these movies, you can take my seat inside the theater 'cause i leave it empty... it's easy to find: it's that among all the other empty seats.

You refer to 'online mysogynists' at 3:18 and how they are not interested in watching female-centric content. Actually, the people you label there have been watching female-centric shows for decades. The difference is that the shows now are misandrist. They treat men with hateful scorn, the directors and actors reflect the same hate and do so while trying to reach an audience that is majority male. You cannot, as a director... no... as ANYONE... come you on public TV and say "Men, this movies is not for you" then expect the same men to come out in support of your production. The MCU's new writers and directors AND people like yourself are delusional. You will can bait and switch all you want (like you did in this video), or how they bait viewers into watching a top male brand like Dr Strange, Loki, Moon Knight and then turn it into a show about the female character who then dominates the male hero and becomes the center of it. i really enjoyed it and i was a bit tispy always sneak a few beers in the cinema with me but when the kittens were chasing down the starship crew i was in stitches! i loved this film it really was light and funny with a great story. loved the end cutscene! so good. each to their own but this was not the worst MCU film ever far from it! and yes i enjoyed she hulk!
