Why the M2 Heavy Machine Gun Is Simply Unstoppable

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

M2 Browning | The M2 machine gun is an incredible story of longevity. Of all the weapons to come from the genius of John Moses Browning, the M2 Browning .50 Caliber Machine Gun may have been his crowning achievement. It certainly was one of his finest, and one of the last to ever be born at the desk of this giant innovator of American guns.

Cover is something you hide behind that will stop a bullet. Like a concrete wall. Concealement is something you hide behind that will not stop a bullet, like a car door. Hence the joke.

It was a fighter plane weapon for many many years. All the WWII era US fighters were armed with them. Sometimes as many as 8 at once. They competed favorably with specifically designed air to air cannons, although shorter in range they could deliver a lot of pain downrange very quickly once they closed with the target.

JWB got Ma Deuce right the first time. It is perfection personified. Loaded with silvertips, it simply cannot be beaten as an anti-personnel and anti-thin skin armor weapon. My HMMWV had an M2 mounted in the ring and it never failed us. I traced the serial number on it and it was manufactured in 1955. It was not capable of mounting the QC barrel but there are no shortage of screw in HB's available. If Artillery is the King of the Battlefield, Ma Deuce is easily the Queen. There is _NO_ flash suppressor on the M2 HB or QC barrel. The bullet is 750 GRAINS, not 750 GRAMS. 700 grains translates into 45 gms or about an ounce and a half.

Nothing to fix on this bad boy. The ammo packs plenty of punch. Want something bigger - it is called a cannon. It fires at the right rate. Any faster and it will just wear out orematurely and waste ammo while doing so. Lighter might be good but will it still take a lickin? Time will tell and I am not sure.

Yes - it's all cool and stuff - but it's still a WW1 machine gun. It's heavy and it kicks like a mule - and the simple single-point mount it's usually used with doesn't offer much precision at more than ~400 meters. Above that - it's spray and pray. A MG3 on a 3-point mount offers significantly more range+precision - albeit it's smaller caliber and therefore less penetration. .50 projectiles have high air-resistance due to their shortness. A longer bullet would aerodynamically be a lot better - but wouldn't work in a M2. There isn't enough space inside to feed them. The reason it's still in use is nobody built something better in .50BMG so far. The market is quite small - and using a ruzzian Kord isn't an option for any Nato country.

Did you really, yeah you did, you actually put, The Second World War, and, World War 2 as two separate wars, WHY? Is that a mistake? I Don't think this is a mistake, I actually think you think they're two completely separate Wars? In fact WWI and WWII are one war with an armistice, a ceasefire, and a phony war of 21yrs in-between the two halves, in fact the war in reality, really didn't end until Vietnam war ended, and it is still continues in the Middle East to this Day as the ripples reverberate ever outwards, and why do I say this, because Israel because a joke state after WWII in 1948 And its after affects are still continuing today and will until who knows. So some could say WWI hasn't really ended at all. To whoever is subscribed, The narrator is not the content/video producer/provider. Shame really, because I do enjoy this channel.
